“Hellooooooooo! Hello, hello, Elphaba! hello…”
“Huh? Sorry… what?” Elphaba yanked her hand back as she came back down to earth, and Galinda recoiled a little at the sudden movement.
As if a switch had flipped, Galinda cocked her head, worry spread across her face. “Are you… are you having a seizure?” Her eyes were the size of saucers and her voice went up an octave, “SHOULD I GET THE NURSE?!”
OR Elphaba and Galinda are classmates as kids and lose touch when Galinda moves away. They find themselves back in each other's lives after high school, but are less than thrilled about the reunion when a certain brainless someone is wedged between them. Gelphie-centric, but comphet throws a wrench in the works. Briefly.

When four year old Galinda sees Elphaba sitting on the ground, covered in dirt with an open cut on her forehead, hurling rocks into the water with more anger than any child should have, she decides they’re going to be best friends and introduces her to her moms.
Mama and Momsie Upland rescue Elphaba from her life of abuse and neglect at the hands of Frexspar Thropp and she grows up an Upland. The girls are inseparable and the best of friends until a falling-out pushes them apart.
Galinda is determined to win back the girl of her dreams, but Elphaba doesn’t want to get hurt again. What happens when they get to Shiz and strike out on their own for the very first time?

“The F Line to East Emerald City is now arriving.”
The train wasn’t very full. There were plenty of seats to choose from, and Glinda plopped down in one of her usual spots against the window. She should try and read the book again, but the thought made her cringe. Maybe she should just give up on it entirely.
She crossed her legs. Picked again at the loose thread on her skirt. Adjusted her posture a bit. Then, with nothing else to look at, her eyes wandered to her fellow passengers.
There was the young couple, of course. The mother with the child. A well dressed man with a way-too-big mustache reading the paper. A woman hanging on to what looked like almost a dozen grocery bags, somehow. And then Glinda saw her.
A green woman. Green! Glinda rubbed her eyes just a tad before looking at her again. Yes, she was green.

Glinda takes the train home every night, and every night, it's the same. Until a new passenger appears.
