He wishes he’d waited to ask until they were at the hotel, at least somewhere that he could have walked away, walked off some of this energy. Instead, he’s vibrating in his skin with the knowledge that even his death was a lie.
“Wow.” His voice drips with sarcasm and hurt. “Can’t believe you can stand to sit next to me right now with how ‘repulsive’ you must find me.”
Armand’s eyes widen and anxiety makes him stammer. He’s doing this wrong. He’s doing it all wrong.

“It would appear Mr Molloy, that congratulations are in order,” Dr Bhansali smiled for the first time that evening, like he wasn’t about to shatter their worldview. “You’re pregnant.”
