When they’re out of earshot - actually, by that point, well out of the bounds of the outdoor banquet - Sect Leader Jiang gruffs, “What did you need me for, then?”
It startles Jingyi into embarrassed laughter as he says, “It just looked like you needed saving.”
Sect Leader Jiang blinks and then snorts, turning away to hide his snicker. “My hero,” he deadpans, the corners of his mouth tugging up despite his best efforts. Lan Jingyi would swoon, maybe, if he were a few years younger and a little less experienced in his own gay yearning. As it stands, he’s still in danger of swooning, so he hurriedly changes the topic.
“You look tired, Sect Leader Jiang,” Lan Jingyi says, as smoothly as he can. If Sect Leader Jiang notices the way his voice creaks dangerously at the end, he has the kindness not to mention it. “We’ve got a few hours before the sect stuff starts up again. If you want to take a break we could - I mean, do you want to - I mean, there’s a place that I like to - I, um. Well, I know a place?”

Summary
Everyone knows Sizhui had long ago staked his claim on Jingyi. Although Jingyi himself remained oblivious, other people had a working set of eyes. People who had attended the school ever since elementary could tell that the two were as thick as thieves, and if anyone missed the possessive hold Sizhui had on Jingyi from afar, anyone who tried to get close would soon get the hint from Sizhui's own threateningly polite smile warning all those who tried to back off.

Summary
Jinling veut juste que la vie soit simple. C'est tout ce qu'il veut. Mais avec Jingyi comme meilleur ami et Jiangcheng comme oncle, les choses s'annoncent plus folles que sensées. Jingyi étant stupide et son oncle amoureux, Jinling veut crier dans le vide. (Sizhui aide cependant. Peut-être un peu au début. Pas tellement à la fin.)
Présentant Jingyi comme une catastrophe gay, le chef de secte Jiang comme une autre catastrophe gay, et mettant en vedette Jinling (et Sizhui parfois) comme la voix de la raison.(Alternativement connu sous le nom : le neveu les réunit parce qu'ils sont trop bêtes)
