“It feels like the ground beneath your feet isn’t steady, darling,” Glinda said. Elphaba realized that was a good way to explain how she felt. It was like the marble floor had suddenly dissolved into water, and now she couldn’t find her footing. Because she had to be wrong. This girl couldn’t possibly be her daughter. Logic went against it, even though she had Glinda's eyes and smile and Elphaba's furrow in her brow.
It should have been impossible, even though Elphaba's heart was saying otherwise
Or: After receiving a life changing revelation, Elphaba finds herself accepting a deal to stay in the Emerald City four years post DG. Now it's up to her and Glinda to protect their family while bringing the regime down from the inside.
