Nemolis wakes up after his death, worried sick about his family's future now that he and his father and brothers have perished; it takes him a while to realize it is not his son who is now emperor.
Nemera would rather his underage grandson inherit the throne rather than that ill-favored goblin child of his; if he is dead and unable to prevent it, at least he will stay around to observe that boy's failures.
