Summary
Across the street in a corner, there was a bakery, illuminated by it's incandescent light bulbs. Jason ran up to it as fast as he could, almost tripping over his cape. He pressed his hands and his nose against the glass window. There was bread, cake, cookies, and pastries he had only seen in books.
After one year of being Robin, Bruce takes Jason somewhere a little special.

But Wolfwood was not the same as every other false love he had encountered in his life. He understood Vash in a way that others did not. He could pierce his heart with an amount of precision that was unnatural to him. Though he did not tell him everything, he felt at ease with Wolfwood by his side.

The concept of lazarus pit gender 'surgery' isn't a new one. But i don't find it as fun as everyone else, so this oneshot is basically me making Jason suffer through my fears relating to it.
Basically: Happy transitioning, sorry for the trauma, Jason.

Not anymore though."

Summary
If he went home tonight, he’d have to be a memory, a disappointment, a promise, a prospect of redemption, a predecessor, a stabbing pain in someone’s heart, a memory of a beating in someone’s body, a wishful future presence in someone’s life. If he went home tonight, he’d be everything everyone else wanted him to be. Everything everyone remembered him to be. Everything he never was and never will be, and nothing he really is. If he went home tonight, it wouldn’t be home. It would be a cell, a coffin, an old green, red, and yellow suit. He’d be a silent, awkward nod, a desperate hug, a playful punch on the shoulder, a rigid handshake, a pleading smile, a pat on the back.
In honor of Jay's birthday, a little fic of his thoughts as he watches his 'family' setting up a 'surprise' party for him. One he'll never attend.
