    Violet stared at the ceiling for a second, trying to process it.

    Then groaned, dragging a hand over her face.

    “…you’ve gotta be kidding me.”

    The music got louder.

    Or maybe she was just more awake now.

    Either way—

    “Are you serious?” she muttered, pushing herself upright. “What the fuck…”

    She swung her legs off the bed, already irritated, already tired, already thinking about tomorrow.

    “I have a fucking interview in the morning,” she said to absolutely no one.

    Another beat of bass rattled the wall.

    That was it.

    “Nope.”

    She stood up, grabbed her hoodie, and stormed out of her apartment without another thought.
