King Robert I Baratheon had a mountain of regrets in his final moments. It took dying to lift the veil from his eyes so he could really see what he had become. He did not know what to expect of the afterlife, but he most certainly did not think he would be charged by the gods, old and new, to go back and fix the mess he had created and to prepare the coming darkness.

Summary
This is the result of a friend's challenge to write a Christmas horror story. I am not particularly fond of horror stories so I asked if I could write a sci-fi story instead.
They agreed and I wrote this story about being away from family during the holidays. Celebrating Christmas is complicated when you are travelling at relativistic speeds.
