Summary
Who would have thought that Team 7 would be the ones saving their future from themselves? Certainly not Sasuke, Naruto, Sakura, and Kakashi.
And though it is extremely hard trying to fix things when you know there's a possibility you could fuck up everything, they won't give up. They won't let the future happen. Even if they have to sacrifice their morals and sanity, they WILL fix everything.
OR:
Konoha wonders who the unknown Uchiha (who for some reason looks at Danzo Shimura with hate-filled eyes), the wandering Hatake (who seems to look at the Yondaime's team with something akin to jealousy), the slightly insane seal-happy jinchuuriki (who looks a bit too much like their beloved Kage), and the bomb obsessed medic (who really shouldn't be so happy with hurting people when she's suppose to be healing them) are.

Kakashi sighed for the thirty-sixth time in less than two minutes, distraught. Gai was doing finger push-ups next to him as he despaired about his life.
Nothing really new...
Except that they were barely five years old.
"Damn Uzumaki seals," he grumbled for the twenty-third time. "And damned sensei."
'Kushina-san was always very creative and Minato-sama very curious, the spring of youth shines especially brightly on them!'
"You're not helping me at all, Gai," Kakashi groaned before dropping onto his back. "And stop moving, I'm tired just looking at you."
"I can't afford to fall behind my rival!"
If he kept his sanity intact, Kakashi knew he would suffocate Gai in his sleep with that horrible green suit.

"It can't be," a man in green breathes. "After all these years? Here?"
Kakashi palms a kunai, watching him warily. No one here seems like much of a threat, but there are way too many unknowns to take any chances. He lightens his tone when he speaks. "Ah, it seems I've gotten a bit lost. Mind telling me where we are?"
The soldier who'd initially shot fire at him raises a shaking hand, pointing at Kakashi. "I saw you. You bent both earth and air."
The crowd watches him with growing recognition. Murmurs turn to shouts, and to Kakashi's bemusement, a war cry starts echoing.
"The Avatar has returned!"
