Summary
There's one rule the vampires in high society will always abide to: they must have a human servant by their side. Or, in Ritsu's unvoiced opinion, a human sacrifice. Serving as blood suppliers and protectors against hunters, Ritsu has seen what fate awaits those mortals.
When Ritsu is assigned his own servant, he doesn't know what to make of him. He's a knight—as it would be expected of the prince's servant—but other than his steel resolve, there's not much else that makes Izumi Sena fit for his role. Stubborn and obstinate, with a sharp tongue and unwillingness to follow someone else's pace.
If nothing else, figuring out his knight's motivations should keep Ritsu's boredom at bay for another month.

Tsukasa thought about his sword, too. That gorgeous, meticulously crafted weapon, and he found the sudden urge to break it in two. To smash it with a hammer, and leave nothing but fine dust in the air that the wind would eventually free him from.
He genuinely felt sick to his stomach.
“Hey, Suu-chan.” Ritsu sat up once more, and reached out. He placed his hand on the other’s cheek, leaning closer. “Are you okay? You look as pale as a vampire.” He smiled softly.
Tsukasa had no idea why, but he began sobbing. His tears rolled down his face, one after the other, wetting his lips and staining his shirt. There was no stopping them; they kept coming and coming, soaking Ritsu’s hand as well.
