When Jayce feels a tap on his thigh, he glances down to see Viktor offering him something under the table, his hand curled around the gift.
Jayce flicks his eyes up to Viktor’s face over the edge of his glasses before opening his palm and letting Viktor drop whatever it is he’s holding into his hand.
Lace. Jayce doesn’t even have to look back down to know what it is. But he does anyway, spreading his fingers in order to let the fabric unbunch.

Viktor had outdone himself. Jayce was set to deliver his sermon this afternoon, and Viktor had picked the perfect spot to drink up his words—in the pulpit, of course. Where else could he get so close to God? Besides, Jayce had been ignoring him for too long, and he was starving. His hunger only increased by the day now, it had been so long since he last fed on essence. If he did not feed soon, Viktor feared he would become… undignified with desperation.
Viktor folded himself into the shadows so Jayce wouldn’t be able to see him yet. He had to bite his lip when a heavy boot stepped into the pulpit. The things he wished to do with that boot. So many centuries and still, the smallest things gave him a thrill.
Jayce cleared his throat. Viktor’s eyes locked onto the bulge of Jayce’s crotch.
“Thank you all for being here this afternoon. Our community means so much to us…”

There's a mole peeking out from underneath, and Jayce nuzzles in even closer to kiss it, and when the cloth shifts, he can see several more moles clustered nearby, in a shape a little smaller than Jayce's palm.
They're in the shape of the constellation Cassiopeia.
Jayce stops, staring at it.
A negative image of the sky, dark stars shining against the pale skin of Viktor's inner left thigh.
Viktor tries another shove and Jayce barely even notices it. He can't look away.
Viktor's hand loosens in Jayce's hair. "Ah, Jayce? Are you okay?"
"Uh. Uh, yeah," Jayce manages. "It's just, you just, uh. You have this little cluster of moles right here?" He brushes his thumb over them. "In the shape of Cassiopeia. The constellation."
"Yes?" Viktor props himself up on his elbows to look at Jayce more easily. "I have quite a few, I'm sure you have noticed. They are not harmful. Is it-- Do they bother you?"
"What? No! No, no, I just, um. I've seen them before."

And until Viktor pops a rather unusual question that allows Jayce's monsters to rear their ugly heads.

Dimitri was… acceptable. Handsome in a sharp, calculated way, wealthy beyond measure, and from a house whose armies could shore up the crown’s weakening borders. He was also a pompous, preening peacock who spoke in political platitudes and looked at Viktor not with desire, but with the cold assessment of a man acquiring a particularly fine piece of real estate.
He stood before the floor-to-ceiling window of his solar, watching the sun rise over the city. The light, pure and hopeful, felt like a personal insult. Behind him, the rustle of parchment and the soft clink of a quill being set down signaled the end of his morning audience with the commander of his kingsguard.
Sir Jayce de Talis. His sworn sword. The man who held Viktor’s heart in his gauntleted hands and refused to acknowledge it.

Jayce has never had any interest in woodworking, so he makes the box out of metal. He chooses pewter because that’s what they have that will look nice and it turns out to be perfect. He realizes he can stamp the Talis logo into the lid and add matching filigree detailing around the edges. The hinges he does in gold as an accent, and to match the gift inside. As soon as it’s finished, he packs and polishes everything up, then takes the box to Viktor.
“Oh.” Viktor says softly upon opening it. When he turns his head up to pin Jayce with a surprised look, his eyes cycle colors, “You made me balls.”
