Camilla leaned back in her chair as she sipped her tea. She let her legs relax a little, and one came to just barely nudge the Archivist’s. “I didn’t realise your department had that many positions for non-adepts,” she said.
“Don’t you worry about that,” said the Archivist, who was adjusting the pins in her hair with one hand. “If I couldn’t find a position, I’d invent one.”
Camilla Hect, sitting in a long meeting, gets an unexpected visit and a proposition (of the employment-related kind).
