There was weight to his words. “You should’ve never trusted me or Max, especially after we asked you to blow up that house—” He paused to take a puff. Every time he inhaled, he seemed disappointed, reminded that he was sober and not smoking his crack. “You lucked out with us. It won’t happen again. Stick to yourself.”
