McEvans Week: Day Three - Miscommunication
It's time for the PTMC Oncology Department's Annual Fundraising Gala and Dana is going with Cassie.
They used to always go to hospital events together. It started when Dana's marriage was coming to an end she felt bad asking Benji to accompany her to things, only to come home and discuss the divorce. So it was always Cassie.
But when Dana's divorce was finalized, she fell into a funk for a year and tried to avoid going out as much as she possibly could.
This year though, everything is different when Cassie asks Dana to accompany her to the gala. It's different because Cassie asks Dana to be her "date" date.
At least... That's what Dana heard.
As Dana gets ready for her first real date post-divorce, she lets herself get honestly and sincerely excited. It's Cassie who she thinks the world of, Cassie who she has been interested in for a while now, and Cassie who is going to make the night magical.
Unless, of course, Dana misunderstood what exactly Cassie meant when she asked Dana to be her date for the night.
