Shane should be proud because he was the only one who put a ring on and locked the notoriously untamable Ilya Rozanov down.
Everyone knows. The world made it a big deal.
So why are girls still acting like his husband is someone available? Why do strangers still look at his husband like he’s fair game? And why does he feel the pit in his stomach over some half-drunk thoughts of random girls in a bar or some girl’s wandering hands on Ilya?
Maybe it’s the alcohol. Or something else.
Either way, Shane decides to do something about it.

Shane is in love with Matt. They're in love and it's fine. It's better than fine really, Shane loves just about everything about Matt and he loves all of Matt's friends. Except for the big tall Russian one that wont stop staring at him like he knows something Shane doesn't. Like he's waiting for Shane to snap. Like he's begging Shane to do something.
And Shane won’t, obviously. Because Ilya is the type of man to reel you in and the leave you high and dry. Leave you looking for pieces of him in every new person that you meet, leave you looking for signs you didn't just make the whole thing up, like some wild fantasy that was born of monotony.
Oh, and he fact he has a boyfriend who he loves. A lot. It isn't monotonous. Its love.

“Hi Irina.”
Ilya feels his blood still in his veins. His vision almost immediately blurs at the sound of his mother’s name falling so gently from Shane’s lips. Shane rambles something, almost to himself, before:
“I’m Shane. Shane Hollander. And I’m in love with your son, Ilya.”
Ilya’s breath catches, heart lurching in his chest, fluttering almost painfully as the realization hits him: He’s introducing himself to her.

Summary
At the same time, they turned to look at each other silently. Shane tilted his head in question, and just as Ilya was about to respond they heard a little grunt and the unmistakable sound of car keys hitting the hardwood floor.
They both let out an exasperated exhale and Ilya set down the glass he was about to put away. “I’m on it.” He nodded grimly and pressed a kiss to Shane’s temple, brushing a hand across his lower back as he passed him, heading towards the sound of the noise.
Shane started in on the last of the dishes, wanting to give Ilya a head start at reasoning with their daughter, who was currently down with the flu, and beyond infuriated that her dads would not let her go to skating practice.
(ie. shane and ilya have to reason with their sick six year old and they barely make it out alive)
