Chapter Text
It was morning, the spring air nestled itself between two young boys as a mother hummed along to radio making blueberry pancakes, the smell drifted towards the older, waking him from his slumber to see his little brother covered in daisy chains. The doe eyes of the youngest made him look even more innocent as their mother's words shocked him and caused him to drop his daisy chain he was working on. "Mama, I made this for you!" The younger exclaimed as he heard a weird noise come from the stove, it sounded like an alarm.
Jungkook stirred in his sleep, his alarm eventually waking him. He smiled at the memory of his mother and brother, he could always rely on them for comfort, however, it was now time for them to get up and get ready for their concert this afternoon. Seokjin burst into his room, "Jungkook~ Oh, you're already awake. Get anyway we have half an hour." The loudness of Seokjin's voice made Jungkook's ears hurt; his head started to ache as he sat up, most likely from how little sleep he got from being at the gym for so late. As he felt his feet hit the floor, his body went in to automatic and he found himself dressed and ready by the kitchen door before he even felt himself get off his bed fully. "Jungkookie~" He heard from behind him, "Why are you up so early?" A sleepy Taehyung murmured as he flopped onto Jungkook's back. "Jungkook~ you're all hard~" Taehyung patted Jungkook's back to empathise his point. Jungkook just smiled and hummed along as he was still half-asleep and was currently incapable of making basic human interaction. His brain felt fuzzy like there was cotton over it. Something just didn't seem right.
They had finished breakfast and Seokjin was trying to wake up Yoongi who had fallen asleep sitting up so that they could all go and get in the van to get to the practise rooms. When Yoongi finally arose he almost fell backwards off his chair, luckily, Jungkook was behind him. Even so, Yoongi went back with such a force Jungkook knew that a bruise would be there in a matter of minutes but he tried not to let out a wince as they walked down to where they were to meet the driver.
As Jungkook sat down in the van he could feel his leg begin to throb with pain. It almost felt sticky and wet, he just put it off to whatever had made him feel all weird today. His mind just wasn't cooperating today and it showed that all throughout the day: in practice, he couldn't get the moves or notes right; he couldn't focus on the most trivial of tasks and he had to be snapped out a daze whenever someone tried to talk to him. However, it was now three am and all he could do was stare at the ceiling and question everything he knew, Jungkook lost track of time until Seokjin came in to wake him because they were going to be late if he didn't get up. "Jungkook, come on, it's time to get up." He heard Seokjin softly try to awaken him, he moaned, wanting to be left alone to and think it through. "You have five minutes and you need to be dressed when I get back." met his ears so he started to get up.
He groaned as he sat up, pain stabbing at his upper thigh, he still felt like he did last night. Quickly, he got up and collected the clothes he was going to wear that day and walked over to the shower. As he stripped down he noticed how his leg had a large scab starting to form, almost the width of his whole thigh and a bruise was starting to blossom in shades of purple and blue. He winced as the fabric caressed it and got in the shower.
