Summary
After banishing his demonic father to Edom, a young Magnus Bane is found wandering the streets and soon taken in by the Clave. The Shadowhunter government has an experiment in the works - a plan to introduce Downworlders into the Shadowhunter Academy in an attempt to prevent hostility, violence, and tensions between the Downworld and the Nephilim. The hope is that with Shadowhunter and Downworld children learning side by side, relations will improve. When Magnus Bane comes into the picture, he quickly becomes a candidate for one of the Downworlder students, and the Clave finds an opportunity to keep an eye on the young warlock, one they know could become a great ally or powerful enemy in the future.
