My Forever Valentine

Summary:

Denki Kaminari ran away and no one knows where he ended up.

Except Hitoshi Shinsou.

Work Text:

It all started when Shinsou got transferred to class 1-A. He instantly caught the eye of his classmate Kaminari. He'd never been complimented so much in his entire life until he met Denki. After a bit of flattery and a few relentless nights of being dragged into his room to hang out, Shinsou eventually gave in to the friendship. Somewhere down the line it turned into more than just friendly situations.

Kaminari asked him to be his valentine and of course Shinsou gave in. Kaminari was thrilled. Shinsou was spoiled rotten with treats and attention the entire day. As they got older, Kaminari started to...change?

He started to become distant and conceded towards his classmates once he learned how to control his quirk. But no matter how cocky or arrogant he got- he always made time for Shinsou. Birthdays, New Years, Christmas, he was always there. Especially Valentine's day.

No one knew about their “situationship” except for Sero. Only because he accidentally walked in on them making out one day. Kaminari seems to trust him, so he wasn't too upset about it.

Once they reached their third year of school, things got a little complicated. One morning everyone woke up and Kaminari was gone, clothes, phone, wallet and everything else important was gone. It was obvious it wasn't another kidnapping because they wouldn't have bothered to grab his belongings.

Why did he leave?

It took forever for everyone to accept the fact that Kaminari ran away. But they had no choice.

Fast forward a few years later.

Everyone became pro heroes and slowly started to climb the charts. Hitoshi “Brainwave” Shinsou was always chasing the craziest villains and had an amazing track record for catching them… until a new guy showed up out of nowhere causing blackouts everywhere he went. Shinsou just can't seem to catch this one. When he gets close to seeing the guy’s face, his equipment short circuits and his vision gets too blurry before he can try to use his scarf.

This goes on for months. But one day it happens. He corners the mysterious blond in an alley. It almost seems too easy, almost as if it's a trap. Shinsou tries not to overthink his next move as he succeeds in wrapping the scarf around the trouble maker.

“Damn guess you caught me!” The blond lets out a small laugh as Shinsou approaches.

He knows that voice… but from where?

He pushes the blond against the brick wall and grabs his wrists to hold behind his back. As soon as he touches his skin, his fingers tingle. Like small jolts of electricity, like an old friend.

“Holy sh- no…”

“Hey pretty boy! Long time no see!” Kaminari was smiling despite his cheek being pressed against the wall.

“This is a joke right?” Shinsou cautiously flipped him so they could face each other. There was no doubt about it- it was Denki Kaminari. His hair was a bit longer and darker but his eyes were still as bright and full of life.

“Nope, no joke! You caught me, now is your chance! Arrest me, I give up now, you won fair and square.” Denki held out his wrists to surrender.

Something wasn't right? Why was he giving in so easily?

He had so many questions about his motives, where he's been all these years, why did he run away in the first place? His mission was complete, why wasn't he satisfied?

“Something wrong?” Denki's head tilts to the side in confusion.

“I can't believe I fell in love with a quitter.”

Denki’s jaw dropped as his hands fell to his side. “Excuse me?”

“You heard me. I had a fat ass crush on a quitter. Pathetic.”

“Are you kidd- just arrest me already!”

“Hmm... no.”

“No! What do you mean no!” Denki's hair began to spark and his face blushed red.

“Why now?”

“I- I don't have to answer you! Just do it!”

“Come home with me.”

“Dude! You're supposed to say… wait what?” Denki blinks quickly.

“I think I have you figured out. I just remembered it's February 14th… so I'll ask one more time. Final offer.” Shinsou backs away and begins walking away. He didn't hear another word from the blond but he did hear his patter of footsteps behind him.

They enter his apartment and Kaminari lingers by the door. “Don't you think it's a bit stupid of you to invite a villain in your apartment?”

“Maybe… but I'll take my chances.” Shinsou pulls the smaller boy by the arm towards the couch. He yanks him down onto his lap with a small smirk.

“What is even happening right now? I could kill you!”

“But you haven't yet? So that's a good start, now kiss me.” Shinsou’s grip tightened around his hips.

Kaminari looked down at him for a moment to see he was smiling. This was not the reunion he was expecting. He thought Shinsou would be furious and deep down he knew he was but his lust was stronger. He took a deep breath and leaned in to kiss him and man did it feel good. It was almost like they were kids again sharing their first kiss.

“You have no idea how much I've missed you.”

Denki froze. His throat was dry and his heart was racing. He just wanted to be a good villain for him. Shinsou would never understand his logic so he didn't say anything.

“I won't ask you why you left, don't panic. I just wanted you to know I missed you. I'll probably get chewed out for this tomorrow but I don't care. I just got you back so I'm going to take advantage of that.” Shinsou’s grip got tight again. “Just tell me if you want me to stop, okay?”

Denki stayed silent and nodded.

They became a tangled mess on the couch. Clothes were thrown and the only thing that could be heard was their moans echoing throughout the apartment. Round after round after round, they finally wore themselves out.

When Shinsou woke up he had a goofy grin on his face until he realized he was alone. A small post it note on the pillow next to him.

‘Thank you for last night :)

I'll be back on my birthday but until then see if you can keep up with me in the streets Mr. hero!’

And so the “chase” continued.

Sure he had to keep coming up with excuses as to why this particular villain kept getting away but it'd be a real shame if he had to tell them he was fucking their target every time he actually did catch him. He'd stick to the basic “I'll get him next time” excuse.

No one would be able to handle the truth.
