The situation was a lot like how Illumi had tricked Killua those couple years ago. Killua was on his way back home from Bisky's, when he got a call from Leorio, "Killua, don't freak out!"
"Why would I freak out? Did you and Pika get hitched without telling us?"
"No, no, none of that right now. I was thinking about proposing in a couple months though, don't tell Kurapika obviously.
It's about Gon, he's at the hospital right now."
"Shit, is he ok? I'm on my way. What happened?"
"He got hit by a reckless driver, protecting a kid. Jackass didn't even stop.
Don't worry, Gon's a durable guy, he's fine for the most part. The worst of it is his foot is broken; a couple ribs are cracked; and he has a concussion, should be back to normal in a few weeks at most. I was able to talk to him before the pain meds kicked in. He's resting in the hospital bed right next to me, so don't worry. I'll send you a picture even."

Killua briefly looks at the image and responds, "It's weird, how Gon always has his million jenny smile. I'll be there in five."
Leorio interrupts with an offer, "You could be here in five minutes. Oooorrr, and this is a big or. You could join Kurapika in hunting down the Jackass that hurt Gon. Up to you, you have Pika's number."
Killua hung up the phone and Leorio has an idea of where the ex-assassin is headed.

Kurapika's phone goes off, as he suspected it's Killua. He answered on the second ring, "Hey, I'm assuming you heard about Gon?"
"Yes, I heard about my idiot boyfriend. Where are you?"
"Corner of 4th and main, heading east. See you in a few."
"On my way."

Killua ran down the streets of York New City. Scanning the rooftops for a certain familiar chain user. Stopped at a two story brick building. He hopped up to the roof. Greeted by Kurapika, who's squatting out of sight of a grey car down by the docks "I think that's him in the car down by the lake."
Killua pops his head up from his position next to Kurapika. He glances at the car and sees a Gon shaped dent. "Yep that's him all right, let's fuck with his head."
Kurapika nods as Jackass gets out of his vehicle.

The pair sneaks closer, picking up Jackass' phone call.
"Yeah, yeah, I did all the paperwork. The Boss doesn't even bother to check anymore. He just hands me a pile of money."
"I know right, it's like he's oblivious to what's going on. It's kind of hysterical."
"Wanna know what's even funnier, I think I hit a guy with my car this afternoon. And no one's even bothered to stop me for it."
Killua snaps, "Thunderbolt!"
The fucker's wheels are melted. The man leaps in fear and is tripped by a sneakily placed chain. Face planting in the mud and gravel. Jackass quickly stands back up, spitting mud out of his mouth. Searching for his phone in a panic. Killua has it gripped tightly in his claws as he ends the call. "Jackass that hit my boyfriend earlier. I just want to talk."
The man trips on another set of chains, this time falling backwards, "Ahhh, why are your hands like that."
"Because I was at one point the heir to a family of assassins. Lucky for you I've turned a new leaf."
"Oh, hell NO! Fuck, the Boss was onto the plan. I'm too young to die!"
Jackass creates a spear out of Nen and stabs Killua in the gut, "You, son of a bitch! Just when the old scar was barely visible too.
Pika, deal with this fool please. I'll be fine for now."
Killua sits back against the brick building the pair was standing on top of earlier. A pool of blood slowly forming around him.
Kurapika wraps the Jackass in chains. "Your level of chronic dumbass is unfathomable. You're lucky I was in a good mood today. You know, before I found out you hit my friend with your car, and stabbed another one of them. I'll let you live; for now.
But, only if you give up the life of crime. And if I find out you hurt another person ever again, count yourself as a dead man. You got that Jackass."
Kurapika let's him go from his chains and kicks him into the lake. Just to make the Jackass' day worse.
Kurapika walks back over to where Killua is waiting. "Sorry Lua, the spear has to stay in for now. It's probably the only thing keeping you from bleeding out at the moment.
I can do this though. Hold the spear on your end as still as you can." Kurapika next, saws off a portion of the spear sticking out, using his chains. Thus making it easier to transport Killua and less likely for the spear to make a bigger hole while being transported. He then, picks up Killua and carries him to his parked car about a ten minute walk away."
While on the way, "Killua, stay with me buddy. You're holding out pretty well. Just a bit longer before you get help. I need you to talk to me while we're on our way to the hospital. Care telling me about why you said 'Not Again' about being stabbed."
"Oh, that. I'll tell you, Gon, and Leorio about it after we get to the hospital. It was an incident with the Chimera Ants, is all I'm gonna say now."
"What the Hell is a Chimera Ant! Nevermind, we're at my car now. I'm going to call Leorio."
Kurapika places Killua in the passenger seat and starts to drive, while his phone is on speaker ringing for Leorio.

"Hey Pika, what's up? How did the Mild Revenge scheme go?"
"Not well Leorio! Very, not well! Lucky for the Jackass I let him live.
We're on our way to the hospital now, which is why I'm calling you instead of just showing up. Killua is bleeding pretty bad, and I'm trying to keep him awake. Lua, would you mind telling Leorio what happened?"
"Jackass, fucking stabbed me with a Nen Spear in the gut. So I'm doing GREAT right now!"
"Good to hear, you still have your sarcasm. I'll make the preparations for surgery. See you both in a few."

Kurapika's wild driving gets them to the hospital in a matter of minutes.
Kurapika carries Killua to where Leorio is waiting with a nurse and a gurney to roll him into emergency surgery. Leorio tells Killua as he's being placed down, "Help's here buddy. Before you know it, you'll be next to Gon in your recovery room."
"There's a change of clothes for you in my office. You should get changed and wait in room 103 with Gon."
Kurapika heads to Leorio's office after he watches Killua be carted away. Quickly he gets changed putting his blood soaked clothes in a bag to be washed later. He greets Gon in room 103 where he has his foot in a cast that's elevated. "Hey Kurapika, it's been a bit since we've talked. How are you doing? And why do you smell like blood, are you hurt?"
"Don't worry Gon, I'm fine. But, I need you to calm down first before I tell you something important."
Gon breathes deep and exhales, "I'm calm now. What do you need to tell me? Did you and Leorio get hitched without telling us?"
Kurapika's eyes glow while he blushes a bit before he regains his composure, "No Gon, I wish it was good news. It's about Killua, he and I went after the Jackass that hit you with his car. Nothing too serious, just enough to teach him a lesson on being a better person. He freaked out a bit and stabbed Killua in the gut with a Nen spear.
Killua is currently in emergency surgery getting fixed up by Leorio and a few nurses. So don't freak out, he's probably going to be just fine. And he will join you in here in a few hours."
Gon is quiet with a stare. Muttering to himself, "Dammit Killua, after the Chimera Ants I promised you, that you wouldn't get hurt on my behalf ever again when we met back up. Now your unwell because of me!"
Kurapika hears Gon's muttering and interrupts him, "Hey Gon, stop that. It's not your fault Killua got hurt. The only person at fault is the Jackass that hit you and stabbed him. No one else's fault, and feeling bad for something you didn't cause isn't going to make Killua better any faster."
Gon comes back to his cheerful self, "Your right Kurapika, all I can do now is wait for Leorio and Killua."
"That's good to hear, now would you mind telling me what Killua meant by 'Chimera Ants.'"

"Alright Killua, I guess it's really lucky that you're family forgot to work on your immunity to anesthesia when making you immune to most poisons. So you can go under like a normal person. I was worried I'd have to give you a near lethal dose. The last time you had surgery."
Leorio goes to work, first removing the spear from Killua. Next, he searches around for damaged organs using his Nen. He spots a couple large gashes going through the large intestine and stomach. He quickly cleans and stitches everything closed.
The IV drip is continuing its stream and Killua's vitals are stable. Their out of the woods now as his stitches are covered in bandages.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN A COMA! Gon you were in a coma."
"Yeah, I did not react well to what happened to Kite with the Chimera Ants and I made a very questionable Nen pact. I owe Killua and Naniki my life. I'm sorry I thought you knew Pika."
"Nope, it's alright. You're alive and relatively well. It's my fault for not answering the phone the millions of times Killua and Leorio called and texted when it happened."

Leorio walks to room 103 to let Gon and Kurapika know how the surgery went. He knocks on the door before he enters, "Hey you two. Just wanted to let you know the surgery was a success. I'm waiting for Killua to wake back up before I bring him in here. How's everything going?"
"Oh nothing much, just found out Gon was in a coma! And the monstrosity of what happened with Chimera Ants and the 'Ant King.' "
"As I said earlier it's mostly my fault Killua and I got wrapped up in a war we really shouldn't have been fighting in. So leave him alone when he's brought in. Also, no I don't really know what Killua meant by 'again' all I know is I had to forward money to a hospital and he met Ikalgo. It's a time period we both are trying to move past from."

Leorio looks at the clock on the wall it's been about 15 minutes, "Well, Killua is probably awake now I'm going to go check on him and bring him over if he's feeling ok. Which he probably won't be, because none of the pain meds work on him. Because of his bat shit insane upbringing. So hopefully seeing you two will be a decent distraction."
Leorio walks down the hall, opening the door to the post surgery recovery room. Killua sleepily greets him, curled up in his bed, "Hey Reolio, how are you?"
"Dammit kid, I know your just messing with me at this point, it's 'Leorio'.
I'm doing fine, can't say the same about you though. Your going to be in a world of pain while recovering, when the anesthesia wears off.
You and Gon never stop making me worry about your safety and well-being you know. Pika has finally slowed down on how many dangerous hunts he takes but, you two just seem to have taken more to keep my stress levels consistent."
"But Dad, neither of us were even on a hunt when we got hurt. It's our general luck and need to get into things that get us into these situations."
"More like lack of luck. Just try to keep the antics to a minimum now. You two are 24 and every day I see more premature gray hairs on my head because of you, Gon, and Kurapika.
Also, don't worry I already gave the same lecture to Gon and Kurapika earlier. Speaking of Gon and Kurapika, I'm taking you to Gon's room now so you two can recover together. Because I don't trust either of you to follow doctors orders if it means you can't see each other."

Leorio wheels Killua down the hall in his bed. Kurapika holds the door open for the pair as he senses them coming. Killua greets him, "Hey Mom, hopefully it's the last time this happens."
"I hope so to Killua. Don't forget you have to tell all 3 of us what you meant by 'Not Again' when you got stabbed."
"I will later. Sleep first."
Killua is brought into the room, his bed now touching Gon's. "Hey Gon, I missed you."
"Missed you too Lua, get some rest."
Gon pets Killua's head to help him fall back asleep. "As I said earlier, let him rest for now. Killua will be up for questions later."
"As a man of medicine I can agree with that. Rest is the main thing Killua needs. I have to set up the heart rate monitor real quick then I'll get out of your hair for now."
"I'll head out with Leorio. Don't think this gets you two out of explaining."

Gon text Alluka and Bisky about what happened.
Gon: Don't freak out, Killua and I are in the hospital again. I got hit by a reckless driver and Killua got stabbed by the reckless driver. We're both ok, Killua is sleeping next to me.
Alluka: I swear I leave big Brother alone for 5 minutes …
Bisky: You 2 always get into trouble. At least Killua didn't back down from a fight he thought he would lose.
Gon: You know he was controlled by the needle Illumi put in his head. Killua is better now.
Bisky: You're right. Will you make sure that you don't get yourselves killed.
Alluka: That goes double for me. Stay safe for once.
Gon: We'll try

Killua wakes up late that evening with an arm wrapped around him. He rolls onto his side, "Hey Gon, it's been a day hasn't it."
"It sure has Killua. Are you doing ok Killua?"
"My tolerance for pain is pretty high, still pretty sore though. How are you, are you doing ok Gon?"
"I'm doing alright Killua, just a little sore too. Are you hungry? I can call a nurse in to bring you Jell-O or pudding."
"Thanks Gon, I'm not hungry right now though. I'm going to try to fall back asleep."
"You should sleep Killua, you need your rest."
Killua rolls back onto his back and pulls his blanket up to his chest. "Night Gon."
"Night Killua."

It's early the next day when Kurapika and Leorio arrive with a few containers of Jell-O, a stack of pancakes, and two bottles of Gatorade. "Morning you two, Leorio and I want answers. We brought breakfast."
Leorio hands them each breakfast, "Gon, you get the pancakes. Killua you get the Jell-O to keep from irritating your stomach."
"After your done eating Killua, explain what you meant by being stabbed again. I already talked to Gon about Chimera Ants so hopefully it's a brief conversation."

Gon almost chokes on a piece of pancake, "KILLUA you were a dart board! If I had known, I might have stopped us going after the Ants."
"Don't beat yourself up about it Gon, you've already apologized before. There also was a few reasons I didn't tell you about it. For one thing you got too wrapped up in making Kite better, and if we didn't stop the Ants, thousands would have died."
"Well, I don't know what I expected. But, I definitely didn't think that was the answer to the question."
"For sure didn't expect that answer. Well I have rounds to do boys so see you later. Also, Gon here are your discharge papers. Killua you should stay here for one more night at least. I know you probably aren't going far Gon, so I'll make sure to bring in another chair for you later."
Gon waves and Killua nods, "See ya later Leorio."
"I guess I should also head out for now. I have some old mafia connections to talk to about the Jackass from yesterday. See you later boys."
Killua responds, "Be careful Pika. And see you later."
"See you later Kurapika."

Gon makes his way back to room 103 after turning in his discharge papers. Having a nurse carry his and Killua's food down the hall while he's on crutches.
He plops down on the chair next to Killua's bed and is given his tray of food. Gon gives Killua his green Jell-O cup to eat.
"Killua did you know that Leorio was planning on proposing to Kurapika in a couple months?"
"As a matter of fact, I did know about that. Why do you ask Gon?"
"Oh no reason, just making conversation. Was just thinking about how much time has passed since the day we first met and the day those two met. Did you know they were about to kill each other on the ship when they first met?"
"Hahaha, I believe it. That's wild to think about. I don't want to think about what my life could have been like had I not met you. I would probably still be a cold hearted assassin under Illumi's mind control."
"Yeah, and if I hadn't met you I would probably be back on Whale Island or dead, never knowing what Nen was."

A few weeks after Killua is discharged from the hospital Gon has an important question to ask him. They're watching the sunrise along the horizon of the coastline. "Hey Killua I have something to ask you."
"What do you want to ask me Gon?"
Gon pulls a box out of his pocket and gets down on one knee. "Will you marry me? There isn't anyone I'd rather spend the rest of my life with. I love you Killua Zoldyck."
"Yes Gon. Of course yes, you big idiot I love you too. Do you wanna know what's even funnier?"
"What's even funnier?"
Killua pulls out a box from his pocket and also gets down on one knee, "Gon Freecs, you beat me to the same question. Will you marry me?"
"Yes Killua!"
Killua is now wearing a black ring on his hand. While Gon is wearing a white ring on his hand.

On the other end of a video call with Kurapika and Leorio. The older couple in unison scream, "You two are ENGAGED!"
