If anyone had ever implied that Asano Gakushuu watches anime no one would have believed it. But no one would have expected him to lose a bet against Karma Akabane either. Now he sits in his room watching my hero academia for the fourth time in three weeks finishing his analysis of the Todoroki family.
Why does his live mirror one of a fictional family? This is just plain ridiculous. How is his life an anime character’s life? He is definitely overthinking this but he can’t stop anymore so he has to tell someone anyone. Whom does he know who would be awake at 3.00 am and listen to him rambling about an anime?!
Karma Akabane.
Does he really consider calling Karma Akabane, the delinquent who is on one hand a genius and on the other a lazy fool? Yes, yes he does.
Then he calls.
“Asano, what the hell! Why are you calling me in the middle of the night?!”, Karma said sounding confused.
Gakushuu didn't even ackknowledge his question and asked him directly: “Do you remember the bet I lost against you? “
“Yes? But that is no reason to call me at 3.00 am”, Karma replied slightly annoyed.
“It is with context. So I watched the anime and I am convinced that Endeavor is the same person as my father”, Gakushuu claims with a crazy gleam in his eyes.
“Wait… what? You analyzed that damn anime?! What did I even expect second-place?”, Karma asked first incredulous and then resigned.
Matter of factly Gakushuu answered: “I don’t even know what you expected. I am still an Asano. If we do something we do it through fully. This is the first time I watched an anime and this happened. But that is not the point. Let me break it down for you. You watched the show too, didn’t you?”
“Yes, I did. Why would I make you see it if I hadn’t myself?”, Karma remarks.
“Anyways Endeavor abuses and neglects his children, mainly Shouto, so that they beat All Might one day, right?”, Gakushuu asks rethorically.
“Right…”, Karma comments.
“Doesn’t this seem familiar? My father too used to abuse and neglect me because I should be strong and beat the society who bullies those they deem better or worse than themselves”, Gakushuu points out.
“Oh my god… Where are you going with this?”, Karma asks madly cackling.
“We established that. Okay. Now Shouto’s mother was sent to a mental hospital after going mad and resenting her own child for looking like its father. Well… Guess what? My mother left too after she couldn’t handle my father and resented me for looking like him”, Gakushuu goes on with without caring about Karmas crazy laughing.
“Ahahahahahha… Shuuuuuu your life resembles an anime family’s life”, Karma says still laughing.
“I know and don’t call me Shu. Anyways, Natsuo and Fuyumi are kinda distant to their father but still love him in a way”, Gakushuu explains.
“Yes, but you don’t have siblings…”, Karma interjects.
“I know but my father’s first batch of students consisted of two boys and a girl. He used to treat Mori, Nakai and Ikeda more like his children than me but Mori and Nakai grew distant to my father with time. Even though they were distant they still kind of love him just like Fuyumi and Natsuo”, Gakushuu clarifies.
“Yeah… But Toya died?”, Karma remarks interested in what Gakushuu comes up with.
“Yes, just like Ikeda did. Toya died because of his own quirk and his father just like Ikeda who committed suicide because he wanted to be kind like my father told him to be. So both of their deaths were caused on one hand because of themselves and on the other hand because of their father or father-figure”, Gakushuu tells Karma.
“You have way too much leisure time now that your father is not the principal anymore but I love this traumatic mess so please go on”, Karma mutters under his breath.
“Oh shut up!", Gakushuu exclaims, " My leisure time is the reason why I even betted against you. I knew that the possibility of winning was very low. But I was not finished. So the conclusion of my earlier points is that both of them project their complexes on the people in their surroundings. After the ideals they build because of their complexes break down because of one person they have a redemption arc. To Endeavor this is when he becomes the Number One hero just because All Might is gone. To my father this is when class 3E surpasses class 3A because of Koro-Sensei.”
“Wait… How do you know about Koro-Sensei’s part in it?”, Karma asks suspicious.
“His costumes were not really convincing to me so I cornered him after the assembly but that is not the POINT! Furthermore their respectively bad parenting leads to their sons hating and loving their fathers at the same time. So this is why Enji Todoroki aka Endeavor is the same person as Gakuhou Asano aka the principal in an alternate universe”, Gakushuu concludes.
“You know you and Shouto Todoroki are both conspiracy theorists with a bit truth mixed within”, Karma thinks out loud.
“This just proves my point”, Gakushu replies.
“I am so gonna tell 3E about this”, Karma mutters.
“I can still hear you", Gakuhuu says.
