Primal Instincts

Summary:

At the bottom of the steps is a young man with short blonde hair and chilling blue eyes, his angered gaze on the two barbarians in front of him. Blood and dirt stain his pale skin, two large cuts on his side and his shoulder. In one of his arms is an infant, the small child latched onto her father’s nipple to get her food. In his free hand is a broken spear, the blade end pointed at the two lycans.

“Breastfeeding,” Heisenberg questioned, “are you… an omega?”

The blonde doesn’t answer, holding his daughter closer.

“Want me to kill him, alpha?”

Heisenberg looks into the omega’s eyes, slowly blinking as he examines them. They glisten with determination and rage, even though the blonde’s heavily bleeding.

“Let’s take him to Mirander,” Heisenberg finally says, “She’ll patch him up for me if I ask, then we’ll take him and his pup to our base.”

Chapter Text

Things like raids and attacks could’ve been easily avoided if the founder of this village settled it closer to the capital. Barbarians, thieves, and rogue warriors would look the other way if this village weren’t so far from the knight’s barracks and the castle.

Screams of pain, fear, and panic fill the air as people run from their attacker. The half-wolf creatures swiftly move from one person to the next, slicing victims open with their claws or their swords. A few of the beasts have spears and axes, using the bladed weapons to dice those that run and the idiots that chose to try and fight. As the sun rises, the bodies of the villagers litter the dirt streets and houses of this once busy settlement.

The leader and his lycan warriors let out victory cheers that echo throughout the lands. The group usually shout this way after a successful village raid, a few of the werewolves already drinking the mead and wine they plundered.

The leader chuckled with a smirk before raising a hand, “Alright! Listen up!”

The lycans turn to him as he continues, “You all know the drill! We search the village for survivors and kill them on sight! We’ll burn all the bodies after we’ve finished the search! Don’t need that boulder-punching king finding out about this.”

The warriors let out a “yes alpha Heisenberg” then quickly move to look through the destroyed buildings. Blood stains a few of the walls and the dirt trail Heisenberg’s walking along, the corpses of the villagers everywhere to be seen. None of them were ready for the lycans’ assault, not even the knights that were stationed here. The werewolves slaughtered them all, women and children too. The carnage made Heisenberg’s alpha instincts grumble with pride.

The only reason the alpha and his warriors raided this village was because he picked up a familiar scent, the source of the stench coming from the black-like vines that crept from underneath all the buildings.

“Alpha,” one of the lycan warriors called, “I can smell someone through this hatch, but it won’t budge.”

Heisenberg he walks next to the warrior then uses his powers to undo the lock, simply flicking his wrist to make the hatch rise. The ability to control metal is the only thing he’s willing to thank his mother for. She’s not even his real mother, she just found him as a child and changed him into something that makes him hate himself.

Heisenberg and the warrior slowly walk down the steps and into the darkness below, the weaker werewolf quickly pulling out a torch to light it.

“I’m not going anywhere with you!”

The two werewolves turn their attention back to the blonde as he attempts to stand up, “You… slaughtered everyone, you murderers! I’d rather die than go with you!”

Heisenberg smirks, “What about the little princess in your arms? What will happen to her if we leave you here to die?”

That made the omega calm down a bit, his worried gaze turning to his daughter. He shuts his eyes tightly then drops the spear, glaring daggers at Heisenberg. The gaze made the older’s alpha instincts churn in a way they haven’t before, a wolfish grin spreading across Heisenberg’s face.

“Oh, you and I are going to get along just fine if you keep acting cute like this! Jakkin, make sure he behaves himself. Threaten his pup if he does anything bad.”

All the omega heard was “Threaten his pup”, not listening to a single thing Jakkin said as he walks a bit closer to him. The blonde swiftly picks up the broken spear then stabs the blade into Jakkin’s shoulder.

“Fuck,” The lycan hissed as he stumbles back, Heisenberg using his powers to take the spear from the omega’s hand. The blonde's shocked by the sudden action, but not for long as he dodges the older man's attempt to weaken him. The omega hurries past the alpha and out of the hatch, fighting against pain as he ran.

The omega pants as he looks inside the small chapel, noticing the bodies of the priest and a few of the villagers inside. He hurries towards them then shoves his hand in one of the stab wounds, rubbing the blood on his and his daughter’s clothes to hide their scent.

“Forgive me,” the blonde mumbles as he smears a bit of blood on his cheeks, moving behind the altar to hide.

“Where the hell did he go,” Jakkin asks as he and Heisenberg walk inside the damaged chapel, unaware that their target’s hidden right in front of them.

“I can smell his scent,” Heisenberg sneers, “but it stops in the middle of this room. Oh well,” he smirks, “if he’s smart he won’t go to the capital!”

The weaker alpha raises an eyebrow as he follows the stronger outside, “We’re going to the capital? What for?”

“We’re not actually going there, Jakkin. I only said that so he’d think we would.”

The blonde slowly peeks from behind the altar, letting out a tired sigh before standing up. He walks into the priest’s raided bedroom before laying his daughter on the bed.

“I don’t have the energy to heal myself,” he says as he looks through the closet. He pulls out one of the priest’s attire then uses a nearby knife to tear the cloth apart, “I’ll just have to make do with wrapping my wounds. Gods, help me get my daughter out of this alive.”

The omega was never a religious person, but it was moments like these that he wished he was.

His daughter starts to coo while kicking her legs and moving her arms, her father letting out another tired sigh after he finished attending to his wounds.

“Alright Rose,” he picks her up, “I don’t mean to be rough with you, but I’ve got to get you out of here. I won’t let those jerks outside hurt you or use you to threaten me.”

Heisenberg smirks as he and his warriors watch the bodies burn, the smell of cooked flesh filling the air.

“I don’t mean to question you, but you’re positive we should leave that omega alone?”

“You worry too much, Jakkin. If that omega believed what I said then we’ll run into him sooner or later! I, for one, can’t fucking wait!”

Jakkin’s knew what that growl Heisenberg just produced meant; he claimed the omega without saying a single word.
