“...So, when are we gonna talk about that big cocksucker Superman took down here?” Two-Bit eventually said. He took two steps ahead of the others and then kept pace walking backwards to face them. “Shit, he was about twice your size? Had a hundred pounds on you?”
Sodapop grimaced. He shook his head. “Two-Bit, not now.”
Darry said nothing. Steve was otherwise silent, aside from his ragged breaths.
“What? What, seriously?” Two-Bit grinned. “I’m impressed is all! The guy was like an ape! I thought he was gonna come out with his Flintstones club and start wailin’ on you.”
When no one laughed or even rolled their eyes, Two-Bit tilted his head. He swung around again to walk straight with Darry and Soda.
“He your boyfriend or something, Superman? Come on, give me something here. I’m dying.”
(After the rumble, Darry meets up with a ghost from his past.)
