Work Text:

Sapnap and Dram lived together when George was still in England. George is fine with it. So what if Dream and Sapnap get to cuddle and kiss and make-out and fuck. George can call them. They talk often. George doesn't mind having to wait a few months to start to really feel included in the relationship.

Then he moved to Florida. He moved in with his partners. He was happy.

Except it has been a few months since then. And nothing has changed. Dream and Sapnap still have fun with each other while George is barely able to hold their hand. They have talked about it too. About how George can't ask for certain things because he fears the rejection but he'll still leave hints out. If they just ask once and let him know it's ok and that they do want him and they do like him he might start to gain his confidence.

But that's not what happened. Geroge told them about his slight jealousy issue. But he didn't explain how he got jealous hearing about how Dream and Sapnap make out, or seeing them cuddle or hearing them fuck.

George doesn't understand. What is he doing wrong? He loves them, sends them hints, hell he even sent a video saying he wants to kiss them. But they laughed it off.

George is starting to have enough, but he loves them. He does, he does, he does. But it's been almost a year and they only held hands. He cuddled Dream a little in the beginning. But now it's almost like they regret it. Almost like Dream regrets it. Dream is the one who asked if he was open to it. George said yes. Why did he say yes? And now all he can think is that he was a mistake.

George would say yes again if asked, don't get him wrong, but it's almost like Dream doesn't care. Doesn't want him like he wants Sapnap. Who would. He's George. Plain boring George. Sure he's got some good things about him. But what did they see in him? Why would they pick him? Relationships are a give and take type thing. Where is he gaining anything? He has a new best friend he gets to say he's dating? That's not what he wants. He wants someone who can claim him. Not act like he's a dirty secret. Not like George is just some person who is there living with them. George loves them. He loves them. He loves them.

And they love him.

He can't feel it. He can't feel them. He can't feel their love for him. Do they really love him in a romantic way? He doesn't know. George can't think. He can't think. He can't feel it. He can't. He can't. He ca-

So George leaves. He gets in his car, which he only recently got a license to drive, and left. George drives for days. Stopping at motels. Sending a tweet saying he's gonna take a break from streaming for a few days, maybe a week, maybe two.

Dream and Sapnap call, and text, but George doesn't answer. He drives. And drives. And drives. He listens to music, belting out the lyrics like he's a teenager again. Eventually he stops. George saw a decent looking hotel and booked a few nights. After changing into more comfortable clothes he pulls up his computer. George pulls up Twitch. Fundy was streaming. George watched his friends stream talk to chat, as well as their other friends. George smiled. Lying in a decent hotel, listening to his friends' voices, George finally just stops. He stops and doesn't think about what's wrong with him to make his partners not want him. He just listens to his friends, laughing along with them and falls asleep. He can overthink more tomorrow. Tonight George doesn't feel alone. Not with his friends' voices in the background.

So George sleeps. He sleeps and sleeps and sleeps. It passes 8 am, then 9 am, then 10. It's almost noon and he's still sleeping. Someone comes banging on the door. He doesn't wake up. He has no reason to. Lying there with Twitch pulled up on his laptop he finally rests for the first time in a long time. He doesn't hear his partners calls. He doesn't hear the world yell at him to wake up.

"Please George, please wake up!"

"Don't leave us, please don't leave us!"

George doesn't hear the whispers and the prayers.

"Please get up. Please come back."

He doesn't hear them cry.

"You can't do this. We love you. We all love you"

Doesn't hear them scream and cry and throw things.

"You can't do this! You can't do this to us! Please!"

No one was understanding. This is what he needed.

"You have to wake up, we need you to wake up."

But one understanding voice called to him. One that George does hear. One that knows what he needs to hear.

"Goodnight George, you can finally rest."
