    Benedict Bridgerton asks Kate Sheffield to be his girlfriend for two weeks to:

    1) get his mother off his back for a while
    2) keep his family satisfied until he tells them that he's gay

    Kate agrees, not expecting his brother Anthony to be the guy who tried to date her sister Edwina two years ago; the guy she spent weeks arguing with, might or might not have found attractive, and whose presence in Aubrey Hall might be the biggest challenge in maintaining their little ruse.
