Chapter Text

Once Gregory completed his eleventh lap Kota asked Sun for the time. “Four minutes till the door opens.” Kota clapped his hands. “Hey kid, bring it in, the doors are about to open!” Kota yelled at Gregory. Gregory pulled the go kart over and ran up to Kota. As the group made their way over to the front of the mall Kota’s vision fuzzed for a second. He looked around but nothing. Gregory ran to the front door then stopped turning around to face the others. Just as Freddy was about to approach him Kota stopped. “Wait here.” Kota said to the others. He walked over to Gregory and could tell the kid was thinking through something. “Gregory?” Kota knelt down in front of him. “Your free to go.” “i know its just.” Gregory looked down. “I don't know if I want to leave.” he said, looking behind Kota towards the others. “Well the mall is technically closed till next week, so you could stay if you wanted to.” Kota shrugged. “But the choice is yours kid.” he added putting a hand on Gregory’s shoulder. “I know Freddy would love it if you choice to stay a bit longer.” “really?” Gregory asked. “Yeah, he’s grown pretty attached to you. I can tell.” Kota said. Gregory looked to the floor trying to figure out what he wanted to do. Kota stood back up when a sudden wave of fear hit him. “Oh Gregory~” Kota quickly put an arm out to protect the kid as he turned around. The first thing Kota noticed was the knife that this person in a wight rabbit costume was holding. “What do you want?” Kota asked, slowly backing up. “I only want to play~” Vanny said, running her fingers on the blade of the knife. “No, you're trying to kill me!” Gregory yelled, grabbing onto Kota.

His yelling caught the attention of the others. Roxy noticed the confused looks on the others and realized she was the only one who could see Vanny. She wasted no time running over and putting herself in front of Kota and Gregory. “Back off creep.” Roxy growled. Vanny sighed. “You're making this harder than it needs to be, Kota. just hand over the kid.” she said. “Gregory, I want you to run.” Kota whispered. “Run!? Run where?” Gregory whisper yelled. Kota took a second to respond. “That's up to you kid. It's up to you.” “tick tock Kota my patience is running thin.” Vanny said, tapping her foot. Gregory looked at the open door behind him then back at Vanny. He looked at Freddy who realized what was going on and had opened his stomach hatch. Gregory took off towards Freddy climbing into the hatch and the bear headed back into the mall. Vanny growled and threw something onto the floor. Once that happened a painfully loud ringing hit Kota’s ears and his vision became cloudy. When the ringing finally stopped Vanny was long gone. “You guys ok.” Kota asked. “Yeah, just mad.” Monty growled. Kota quickly checked for Freddy on his watch but his locator was off line. “No no no, damn it.” “Kota?” Chica asked. “I can't find Freddy.” Kota said, running back into the main mall with Monty close behind.

They looked everywhere and Kota was starting to fear the worst. He checked his watch again to see Freddy’s signal flickering. “Gregory!” Kota yelled running as fast as he could to Fazer Blast. He didn't care if opened his current wounds. His first priority was getting to the kid. When he entered the playing field he followed the sound of the kid crying. Kota froze when he saw Gregory crying over a decommissioned Freddy. He shook his head trying to hold back tears. “What happened?” he asked. Gregory didn't say anything and just pointed to the security office. Kota turned around to see Chica crying into Roxy’s shoulder, Monty with a sad expression, and Moon walking up to him. “Moon you stay with the kid. I’m going to check the Office.” Moon nodded as Kota started walking to the spiral stairs. When he got to the small cat walk he could see the blood on the window of the office. Kota almost threw up the instant he looked in the room. Blood was splattered all over the walls, ceiling, and floor. Pieces of the wight rabbit costume were scattered around the room as well as dismembered body parts and guts. He couldn't stand to look again so he headed back down to the kid. Once Kota came into Kids view, Gregory ran up to him. Kota picked Gregory up and did his best to comfort the kid. “It's over. You're safe.” Kota then turned to Monty. “Can you get Freddy down to parts and services?” Monty nodded. Kota took one last look at Freddy before leaving.

By the time Kota got to his destination Gregory had fallen asleep. Kota opened the door to Freddy's green room and made his way over to the couch. After moving some of the plushies out of the way he laid Gregory down on the couch. The door to the green room opened and Sun entered with a blanket and pillow. “Thank you.” Kota said, taking the pillow and blanket. Once Gregory was tucked in, Kota went for the lights. “Lights out Sun.” he said as he turned the lights off then turned to Moon. Moon's eyes and the stars on his clothes were glowing a soft yellow. The glow kept the room bright enough to see but dim enough to let Gregory sleep. “I've got some explaining to do. You keep the kid safe.” Kota said, opening the door. “Oh! Please let me know if the kid wakes up.” “of course, and you should try to get some sleep yourself.” Moon said. “I’ll try.” Kota said, closing and locking the door behind him. He met up with his boss at the entrance and explained everything. His boss wouldn't have believed it if there wasn’t camera evidence or physical evidence. After a long talk his boss let him look after Gregory until they could find out where he lives. The problem was Kota already knew the kid wanted to stay, but why?
