"Hanzo," Kuai murmured in the man's ear. "Come to bed."
"I have to finish this," Hanzo sighed, dutifully continuing to update inventory logs despite his partner's cool arms draping over him.
"You need your sleep, old man," Kuai quipped.
"Oh yes, because you are so young," Hanzo shot his lover a bemused look before turning back to his paperwork. "Just a little more and then I will join you."
A deep sigh and the absence of Kuai's weight against him led to the inevitable conclusion of his lover kneeling on the floor between Hanzo's legs.
" Kuai," Hanzo warned.
Kuai smirked, already undoing Hanzo's pants. Hanzo's pen faltered at the first pass of Kuai's tongue across his length.
With a heavy sigh undercut by a fond grin, he closed the binder, set his pen aside, and pushed his chair back, chuckling at the startled grumbling coming from under his desk.
Kuai huffed, folding his arms on Hanzo's thighs and laying his head on them. Hanzo ran a hand through Kuai's hair, eyes running down deep yellow robes pooled on the floor around his lover.
The sight of Kuai enrobed in his colors would never fail to catch his heart, igniting his passion for the man. His desire to claim and reclaim him for as long he was blessed enough to keep him.
"Come," Hanzo took Kuai's hands and began to stand. "The hardwood is unkind to your old knees."
Kuai snorted, rising to his feet only to be swept up into Hanzo's arms.
"Such a gentleman tonight," Kuai grinned as Hanzo carried him to their bed.
Hanzo flicked his forehead. "You are lucky you're handsome."
Kuai laughed as Hanzo dumped him unceremoniously on the bed. "How do you want me, love?" He purred.
"On your back, head over the side."
A shiver ran down Kuai's spine at the demand, heat pooling in his gut as he positioned himself.
"You are so beautiful," Hanzo said, soft and reverent as he beheld his beloved, naked but for Hanzo's yellow clashing with dark hair and pale skin.
Kuai beamed up at him, "I might say the same of you."
Hanzo pressed a kiss to his forehead. Kuai could never take a compliment without ensuring Hanzo knew he held him in the same dearest regard.
Some oil from their nightstand and Hanzo was ready to receive and to give.
He patted Kuai's cheek affectionately and as Kuai's lips parted obediently, Hanzo's other hand fed his cock inside his lover's delightfully cool mouth.
Hanzo groaned at the delicious temperature gradient the collision of their flesh always wrought. His heated hands found Kuai's chest, thumbs circling his nipples. Kuai moaned softly around him, tongue swirling and lapping at Hanzo's cock, teasing the slit.
Hanzo grunted and moaned lowly, pleasure coursing through him with each caress of Kuai's tongue. Eventually Hanzo's hands moved back to grasp the sides of Kuai's throat, thumb lightly running up and down his Adam's apple.
Kuai's eyes fluttered as he took more and more of Hanzo into his mouth. The all pervading heat of him was heavy and intoxicating. He would never have enough of it.
Kuai shut his eyes, breathing through his nose, relaxing his throat before taking Hanzo to the hilt in one decisive move.
" Kuai Liang!" Hanzo gasped, unable to repress the startled thrust that followed. Kuai merely hummed, reaching up with one hand to pat Hanzo's hip in reassurance.
"You are too good at this," Hanzo practically groaned in exasperated ecstasy. He thrust into Kuai's throat, gradually picking up the pace. His hands squeezed lightly over Kuai's throat the way he knew the other liked.
With one, two, three jerks of his hips, Hanzo came.
Kuai swallowed his hot load easily as if he had been doing so far longer than their relationship had lasted.
"Why are you so good at that?" Hanzo practically moaned the question, panting as he withdrew from his husband's mouth.
"Who knew you were so good at this, Tundra."
Kuai sat upright, pulling away from the warm hands that had begun stroking his face.
"Kuai?" Hanzo carefully placed a hand on his shoulder. "Are you alright? Did I hurt you?"
"No," Kuai's voice was cold, clipped. "You didn't." He pulled the robes tightly around himself, beginning to shiver.
He hadn't thought about...that time in so, so long. Why was one innocent phrase enough to resonate with the darkest parts of his mind so forcefully?
Hanzo frowned, replaying the evening's events, trying to figure out what went wrong. Kuai had been fine until he had asked…
Hanzo's thoughts derailed as his hands began to prickle; Kuai's skin had grown colder, a sheet of ice breaking out over his arms.
"Kuai Liang," Hanzo pulled the cryomancer who had gone stiff; a known sign of panic and anxiety, into his arms, attempting to warm them both. "What is happening, my heart?"
"Your question," Kuai whispered into Hanzo's chest, breath uneven. "I remembered--You won't like the answer."
Kuai had thought about saying nothing, but with Hanzo…
Hanzo, who took Kuai's face in his hands, gazing down into his core. "It doesn't matter if I will or not, I will listen regardless," he softened his tone, "But you don't have to answer if you don't want to."
Kuai sighed, shakily, pressing Hanzo's hands harder into his face, soaking up the heat before carefully removing them and staring down at his own hands.
Hanzo squeezed his shoulder; a motion that recalled his devotion to Kuai Liang in the heart of his darkness.
Kuai was silent for a long while, and combined with how softly he spoke, Hanzo almost missed the confession:
"It was Sektor."
Bi-Han was livid.
Not an unusual state of affairs, but one that was trying Kuai's patience.
"What does it matter!? I'll--I'll do it if I have to… Eventually." Truthfully, Kuai still couldn't imagine laying with a woman. But, still, he. He would. He had to.
"You had better. For your sake," Bi-Han jabbed an icy finger in Kuai's chest. "If anyone other than me finds out that you're…" his face spasmed in disgust. "That you're different-"
"Different?"
Kuai would never forget the look of absolute fear on Sub-Zero's face as their eyes met before slowly turning to face the red-garbed Lin Kuei standing in the open doorway.
Damn it. He could've sworn he locked it-
"And how is dear little Tundra different?" Sektor's voice dripped with venomous delight as his eyes appraised the brothers.
"This is between us, Sektor."
"Oh I disagree, Sub-Zero. As the son of the grandmaster, I am dedicated to upholding our principles. And that means being aware of any and all discrepancies in our ranks."
Bi-Han and Kuai telepathically rolled their eyes. Would Sektor ever drop the 'my father is grandmaster' card?
"No discrepancies here," Bi-Han's voice was hard. "Just Tundra getting distracted as usual. We're working on that, right brother?"
"Right," Kuai sighed.
"Well," Sektor walked in, like he, and not his father, owned the place.
"The thing is I couldn't help but notice Tundra's disinterest at the brothel yesterday."
Kuai's heart started to pound. Fuck. Bi-Han's gaze grew stonier, but Kuai could feel the air cooling as his brother's control started to slip.
"And here you are saying he's different." Sektor smiled and it was vile. "So, tell me Sub-Zero how does it feel to know you're related to a cock sucker."
Sektor's hand just stopped Bi-Han's ice encased fist from contacting his face. Both men shook with effort, Bi-Han with rage.
"Now, now Sub-Zero. Remember who's in charge here, hm?" Sektor's eyes slid over Kuai before returning to the man trying to kill him. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone."
Bi-Han's fist fell to his side, and he stepped back with a frustrated growl.
"On one condition." Sektor was starting to unnerve Kuai with the way his gaze kept locking on to him.
"Which I will explain to Tundra, without big brother eavesdropping."
Kuai could feel panic creeping over him as Bi-Han shot him a concerned look, mouth working. Kuai knew there was nothing he could do. Refusing Sektor was out of the question. He nodded minutely to his brother, resigning himself to whatever bullshit he was about to endure.
Without a word, Bi-Han stomped out of the room, the door slamming shut behind him.
"What do you want, Sektor?" Kuai glared, crossing his arms. Gods but he hated this self-righteous prick.
"Master."
Kuai blinked. "What?"
"When you and I are alone like this, you will call me master, do you understand?" Kuai's brow furrowed, what the hell? Sektor was dead serious though, tone unwavering.
Slightly petulant as always.
Kuai couldn't help it. He laughed.
And as his head snapped to the side from Sektor's gauntleted backhand he couldn't bring himself to regret it.
Sektor grabbed Kuai by the throat, squeezing until Kuai began to sputter. "Remember, Tundra, you disobey me and I tell my father of your proclivities. He kills you. Maybe tortures you first. Maybe I make life a living hell for your brother, for Smoke. For anyone you might care for."
He released Kuai who fell to his knees, gasping for air. Hand on his throat, he looked up at his assailant. "Why are you doing this?" He wheezed out.
Now it was Sektor's turn to laugh. "Because I can."
His grin fell away, leaving something sinister behind. "Now, shut up."
Kuai's glare was chilling, but Sektor didn't give a damn.
Sektor's hand cupped Kuai's face and Kuai instinctively pulled away. Sektor tsked, slapping him so hard Kuai fell to the floor.
In no time at all, a hand on his collar jerked Kuai back up as his vision swam. He shut his eyes against it.
"Now, you stupid little slut," Sektor hissed. "Back on your knees."
Kuai's face burned at the derogatory language. He grimaced, getting back on his knees, this time allowing the unwanted hand to caress his face.
Despite everything inside him screaming not to.
"That's better," Sektor remarked, voice quieter than Kuai had ever heard. A chill ran down his spine. The hand retreated from Kuai's face but any relief that may have caused died immediately as Sektor began undoing his belts.
No. No no no.
Panic and fear and desperation swelled in Kuai's chest. Until now, he hadn't actually thought… Oh gods. "Please don't," his voice wavered, "I'll do anything else, just not this."
"Why not? This is the only way you'll be able to be what you really are, cock sucker."
Kuai burned in shame and anger. Maybe he deserved this. For being too weak, too soft, liking the wrong gender. He was always wrong. Not enough. Never enough.
His eyes stung as Sektor took his own dick in hand before Kuai's face.
"You're going to suck my dick until I cum down your tight little throat. You understand?"
Kuai nodded mutely, a horrible numbness overtaking him. But that wasn't enough for Sektor. A hand pulled painfully on Kuai's short hair. "I said, do you understand?"
"Yes," Kuai said, miserably.
"Yes what?"
"...Yes master," Kuai saw Sektor's cruel grin widen before his world became hot, heavy flesh stuffing his mouth, unyielding hands on his head, and the unforgiving wood beneath his knees.
"Every time he felt like it, he would summon me to his chambers. Eventually I just… Became numb to it."
"Maybe when I'm grandmaster I'll have you on your knees in front of my throne, keeping my cock nice and cool all day. You'd like that wouldn't you?"
"Yes, master."
Kuai shivered, tearing himself from the memory, the awful, empty place in his head he retreated to in order to survive.
He buried as far into his husband's comforting embrace as physically possible. "I knew why he was really doing it. He was different too, and he couldn't have what he wanted either, so he just used me to fill the void."
That particular moment of reckless confrontation on Kuai's part had led to an extremely violent evening.
Hanzo never imagined he could hate one man even more than he had already hated Sektor for exterminating his clan, his family. And now? To know after all this time, he had raped his husband, his heart, his second family?
Harumi. Satoshi. You are avenged.
And so was Kuai Liang.
Kuai Liang, who fought through that horrid factory, faced the slaughter of his clan. Who stood up to Sektor, never giving in, defeating the bastards who took everything from him.
Except he wasn't avenged, not really because Hanzo couldn't kill the memories, the nightmares left behind.
Frost.
Bi-Han.
Sektor.
Quan Chi.
The Kamidogu.
Even Hanzo himself.
All had tried so very hard to destroy the brilliant soul in his arms. And they had failed. But not without cost.
Hanzo felt himself begin to shake as he held on to Kuai too tight.
"I'm sorry," Kuai whispered.
"Don't," Hanzo managed. He would not hear Kuai apologize for being abused.
"You have known so many horrors, so much darkness," Hanzo's voice was heavy with tears, "Life has been so cruel to you.” He inhaled shakily, “Forgive me, you would not want it, but I would destroy everyone whoever hurt you. I would burn the world down around us if it would bring you peace."
There was silence as Hanzo’s pronouncement hung in the air, but for his heavy breaths. And for Kuai’s as he momentarily faltered under Hanzo’s sheer devotion wild with promise and enduring, undying love.
No matter what happened in their pasts, that love had become their truth.
"...Just love me, my fire," Kuai kissed away a tear. "That's all I ask."
" Always ," Hanzo seized Kuai's lips in an all-consuming kiss. Steam was rising all around them as Kuai's ice melted under Hanzo's fire.
They wept quietly, clinging to each other long into the night as hands and lips offered reassurances.
"I never wanted him, I never wanted any of it," Kuai's voice was tired, worn with old anguish. "I thought back then maybe I deserved it.”
Hanzo’s words of protest were halted by a cold finger pressed against warm lips. Kuai smiled softly at his impatient husband. "Sometimes it still feels like it but being with you helps me remember it is not."
"Then I will remind you again and always," Hanzo vowed immediately, pressing their foreheads together. They rested like that for a long moment until Hanzo cooled down, murmuring, "It wasn't your fault. You didn't deserve it. You never did."
Kuai sobbed at the gentle affirmation in Hanzo's words, but even more so his ever earnest gaze which rocked something deep inside Kuai’s heart. "Surely I'm too old to be haunted by my past like this."
"I'm afraid if I am not, then you are not," Hanzo sighed, "Seeing as I am the older old man."
A wet laugh escaped Kuai. "I love you," he said.
"I know," Hanzo smiled against Kuai's hairline, holding him close. "You are safe, you are loved, you will be alright," he murmured.
Kuai Liang smiled. "I know."
