Work Text:
Techno and Wilbur stared at the boy. His once bright, golden hair now faded into an almost light brown, and knots and white streak protruding from his roots.
“Tommy..” Wilbur said, his eyes becoming wet with his tears. A lump was forming in his throat at the sight of this version of his baby brother.
His clothes were ratty, his iconic baseball T-shirt having rips and cuts at the hem, an old overcoat thrown across his arms, burns on its hem, most likely from what Techno and Wilbur had guessed was dynamite or TNT, his light brown pants stained with grass, dirt, and blood.
Tommy stared at the two with a worried expression. Were they going to hurt him?
Techno walked over to Tommy, putting gentle hands on his shoulders. “Tommy.” He said, brushing his fingertips across the scars and bruises across the boy’s face. He had been through a lot, Techno could tell. Tommy flinched at his harsh voice. Techno embraced the boy, pulling him in close, so now his face rested on the older’s shoulder.
Tommy was confused. Why were they acting like this? And why did they look so.. Hurt?
Then Tommy knew. They weren’t his Wilbur and Techno. They were different.
Techno let go of Tommy, letting Wilbur cup the boy’s cheeks. Tears streamed down his pale face. “Oh my gosh, Tommy.. What happened?”
Tommy said nothing. He didn’t know what to say. Was this a dream? It felt like one. But the warm, gentle touches felt so real.
The two wrapped their arms around him, the two older letting out sniffles and sobs. Tommy felt bad for them, but the hug felt very.. Comforting.
He closed his eyes, hugging the two back. He felt as if he were home.
