Work Text:
It started the night after Bakugou had been taken. When all of the Heroics students who were not being actively hospitalized were sent back to their families. The class group chat was a steady stream of texts, everyone in Class 1-A who was able to hold their phone seemed to be engaged in the chat and continued to be well into the early morning hours. The time went unmentioned for the majority of the conversation, until Ashido broke the silence.
The topic of conversation had changed a million times throughout the night, however at the moment it was focused on travel and where the students had been outside the country. Aoyama, Ojiro, and Ashido were mainly leading the discussion, having traveled the most compared to their peers. Ashido was in the middle of a text spam about how beautiful the area in Peru she had visited was when her messages suddenly stopped mid description. Quickly, the others began to question her sudden stop, and in the grand total of five minutes between her last message and the next, seven of them had called her phone, Shinsou had dialed Aizawa’s number and was waiting for the cue to hit ‘call’, and the rest had been figuring out who lived closest to Ashido and could get to her the fastest.
Thankfully, before drastic measures could be taken, Ashido finally answered one of the calls, Sero’s, and everyone was able to breathe again. Instead of explaining to Sero alone on call, Ashido just told him that she'd text the chat in a moment and would explain there.
Pinky: I’m soooooo sorry for worrying you guys!!!
Pinky: I’m fine, I promise!
Chargebolt: Thank fuck, you scared the shit out of us!
RedRiot: No kidding, what happened???
RedRiot: I called 3 times and you didn’t answer
Pinky: I know, I’m really sorry!!!
Pinky: I left my phone on my bed and it’s on silent so I didn’t hear the calls
Uravity: Why’d you leave your phone? You were in the middle of talking about the parrots you saw
Pinky: I know, I was just startled is all
Pinky: My mom got up to get a drink and closed her door kinda hard on her way to the kitchen
Pinky: She and my dad sleep on the first floor though, and I thought it was the back door shutting, not her room
Pinky: this is pretty embarrassing, but i kinda freaked out since its 3 am and i thought everyone was asleep
Pinky: i froze for a while just trying to keep my breathing steady like mr aizawa taught us for when we needed to stay calm
Pinky: then i spent the next few minutes sneaking around my house trying to find the intruder
Pinky: Only to scare my poor mom when I rounded the corner
Pinky: I only just stopped myself from blasting her with acid, so that was kinda close lol
RedRiot: Mina…
Froppy: We’re glad you’re ok!!
Froppy: Sorry we were quick to panic
Cellophane: You could say we’re a little paranoid rn heh
Shinsou: not paranoia if its not unfounded
Sugarman: Sheesh man…
Tsukuyomi: While a harsh way of putting it, he is correct
Tsukuyomi: We have much that hunts us in the darkness
Tsukuyomi: It is understandable that we would not trust that of which is not in the light
Chargebolt: Don’t feel bad Mina, I’ve been stupid jumpy lately too
Chargebolt: My mom checked in on me a few hours ago since she saw the light was still on
Chargebolt: She didn’t knock very loud, thought I might have been asleep, and just opened the door
Chargebolt: Scared me so bad I accidentally blew out the lightbulbs in my room lmao
Tailman: I think it’s safe to say we’re all stressed right now
Uravity: Honestly
Uravity: it’s why I’m still awake, outside of a few naps during the day, I haven’t slept since the night before, well, everything
Uravity: And I really don’t think I’ll be able to
Uravity: I keep thinking I’m hearing my door opening every time I close my eyes…
Ingenium: Have you locked it?
Uravity: Yep, checked it a dozen times already, still locked, still worried
Shinsou: … you got any empty cans?
Cellophane: Wow, talk about a transition
Shinsou: if you stack em against the door, should someone opens it theyll make a big crashing sound that should wake you up, even if youre a heavy sleeper
Shinsou: and if you want a way to just know if someone enters your space but not make a racket, you can spread salt or flour in front of doors
Shinsou: if someone opens it itll leave drag marks across the floor
RedRiot: Wow Shinsou, how’d you come up with that?
Shinsou: when youve been in the foster system as long as i have you learn a few tricks
Shinsou: its hardly perfect, but its better than nothing
Uravity: Thanks Shinsou, really
Sugarman: Yeah no kidding, brb grabbing some flour
Tailman: Same, gotta make sure I get up early enough to clean it up before my dad heads out for work tho
Tailman: Don’t wanna have to try an explain that one
RedRiot: If it helps you get some sleep, then whatever works
Shinsou: exactly
Shinsou: whatever helps you sleep at night
Not long after that, the chat slowed down to only a few people talking, Shinsou and Kirishima, as the rest seemed to finally fall asleep. The next day, when they all began to trickle into the hospital to see their friends, it was clear that finally getting some sleep had done a world of good for all of them. Ashido was happily talking about the latest album from a band she liked, Sato had baked cookies, and Kaminari had greeted Shinsou with a wink and called his eye bags designer. They were definitely ignoring the problems at hand, but if they addressed it nothing would change, it wouldn’t undo everything they saw. It wouldn’t wake up their comatose peers and it wouldn’t bring Bakugou back. So the elephant in the room was ignored for the sake of their sanities and cookies.
The general mood only increased when they found out Midoriya and Yaoyorozu were awake.
That’s not to say everything was great, Kirishima, Todoroki, and Midoriya were all still beating themselves up over everything that happened, and nothing the others could say would change that. And despite Iida and Asui’s concerns, everyone was pretty sure they were still going to go through with the rescue attempt.
That night, the chat was active once again, although this time the topic was the news broadcast everyone was watching in shared horror. Jirou would later claim the only reason she woke up then and not the next day was due to how much her phone began to vibrate when a pillar of ice suddenly shot across the battlefield. Everyone in Class 1-A was frantically messaging each other, trying to see if any news broadcasts had a better view of where their peers landed.
It was only about 20 minutes after the fight ended that they finally got word from Yaoyorozu and Todoroki that they had met up with the others and that they were all safe. Cans were stacked and flour was spread across floors, and for the most part, they were able to sleep that night.
This trend didn’t last to the next day. Bakugou had been released from police custody with strict orders not to go anywhere without an adult. On the brighter side, both Jirou and Hagakure were both awake and doing well enough to be sent home, meaning all of class 1-A was finally out of the hospital.
However, this also meant that they were all home, without any special protection.
InvisibleGirl: Wait, are you serious???
InvisibleGirl: They know you were in Kamino and they didn’t give you any security????
RedRiot: Yeah, they just told us to make sure we don’t go wandering off alone, Bakugou’s the only one they told to not go anywhere without his parents
Pinky: That’s ridiculous, are they not worried about the LOV coming for you guys in revenge?!?!
Shoto: Guess they’re too busy dealing with All Might’s retirement to worry about us
Creati: My parents were worried too, although they didn't know I was in Kamino. They’re just worried the League will find out I was the one who put the tracker on the Nomu. They increased the security around our house because of it
Creati: I didn’t bother telling them that they could just warp in if they really wanted too
Creati: I just set up motion sensors around the grounds, however I do keep having problems with squirrels setting them off
Deku: I ended up putting those cans up like Shinsou suggested at my front door and hung one from a string that’s pinned underneath my window
Deku: That way, if it’s opened it’ll fall and wake me up!
RedRiot: Oooooh that’s a clever idea! I’ll have to try that one
Chargebolt: Uhhh are we just gonna ignore the fact that you guys shouldn’t have to trap your own places to protect yourselves???
Chargebolt: They know you could be a target, they should be protecting you!!!
EarphoneJack: Honestly we all should have some protection. Wasn’t that what the email the school sent out was about?
EarphoneJack: They want to move us into dorms so that we’re safe from villains
EarphoneJack: But right now they aren’t even bothering to station police nearby or anything
EarphoneJack: I have no idea how you lot aren’t on the verge of panicking all the time, I’ve been jumping at every sound I hear and they don’t even have a reason to target me!
Tailman: Hey, we’re all worried about being targeted, even if we haven’t done anything specifically to piss the LOV off
Tailman: That’s why we’ve been setting the traps in our rooms and around our houses
Cellophane: We were super in the dark about things the first few days after the attack, so we decided to prepare for the worst
Cellophane: I ended up looking at the way that spiders make their webs so that I could try to do that with my tape
Cellophane: It actually ended up working really well!
Pinky: Oh that’s actually really cool!
Deku: Yeah! I bet you could use that when laying a trap in the field for a villain, your quirk is perfect for captures, so I bet there's lots of ways you can use it in trap making!
Tsukuyomi: It is impressive you were able to make the most of such a distressing time
Tsukuyomi: Truly, an impressive feat
RedRiot: Anyone else come up with some clever trap making skills?
Froppy: Actually, yes
Froppy: I learned that while most of my mucus fades away with time, some is left behind
Froppy: So I’ve been regularly applying it to my window sill
Froppy: There’s enough buildup at this point that it would only take a moment to activate and anyone who touches it will probably freeze up for a while
Uravity: Whoa, Tsu that’s so cool!!
Chargebolt: I actually figured out something new too
Chargebolt: I’ve known for a while that my quirk will stay active if I was using it when I passed out
Chargebolt: Fell asleep with my phone charger in my mouth and woke up to a fully charged phone one time
Chargebolt: So I got some electrical wiring from the hardware store and wrapped it around my door knob
Chargebolt: I sleep with the other end in my mouth, so anyone who tries to grab my doorknob will get a pretty noticeable zap, and the feedback should be enough to wake me up
Cellophane: Damn Denki, that’s actually super cool!
Chargebolt: Thanks man!
Bakugou: WILL YOU EXTRAS FUCKIN SHUT UP?!?!?
Bakugou: ITS FUCKIN 2 IN THE MORNING AND MY PHONES BEEN GOING OFF NONESTOP FOR THE PAST HOUR
Shinsou: sorry if some of us are incapable of simply sleeping off the ptsd like you
Bakugou: SHUT UP MIND FUCK
Bakugou: IF THOSE VILLAIN WANNABEES SHOW UP AGAIN ILL THRASH EM
Deku: Kacchan’s right tho, we should probably get some sleep
Deku: I’ve got some ideas for other traps we could all set up, I’ll message you guys about it in the morning!!
Uravity: Thanks Deku!!
Over the following week, Class 1-A would bond over something few expected them to. But even as the days went by and the League showed no signs of coming for them in the near future, the trap construction continued. By the time they had all moved into the dorms, almost everyone had figured out a clever way to use their quirk or environment to secure their homes. Was it healthy, definitely not. But anytime someone questioned whether or not they were taking things too far, someone brought up what Shinsou had said during their first conversation on the topic.
It’s not paranoia if it's not unfounded.
During the first night in the dorms, however, it was clear no one knew how to proceed with the situation. To everyone’s surprise though, it was Bakugou who ended up broaching the topic, in his own way.
Most of class 1-A was spread around the common room, playing on their phones or engaging in soft conversation. Bakugou had left to go to bed nearly an hour prior, so Kirishima was surprised to see him appear next to where he was sitting on the floor. While he didn’t look angry per se, he was clearly frustrated and didn’t want to be there.
“Oh, hey Bakugou, what’s up? Thought you went to bed a while ago.”
“Shut up shitty hair!” He snapped, although it didn’t hold any malice. By this point a few of their peers had noticed his reappearance and had begun to pay attention to the conversation. “I just wanted to know if you had any fuckin chains or anything in your equipment I could use, that’s all idiot!”
Kirishima frowned, “Sorry man, don’t think so. What do you need ‘em for? Did you forget something?”
“If it’s important, Kacchan, I bet your mom could mail them to the school tomorrow-”
“Shut up nerd! I don’t need that old hag asking why I need her to send some stupid chains I got from the garage!” At that, Bakugou turned towards the elevator, seemingly intent on storming away. However, before he could get very far, Yaoyorozu ran up beside him, pulling a chain out from her exposed forearm, and handing it over before Bakugou could refuse.
“There, those should work. They’re made kind of similarly to wind chimes, so even the slightest movement will make noise. They’re not as structurally sturdy, but they are more likely to wake you up if they’re moved.” She said calmly. By now, everyone was paying attention to the conversation, watching Bakugou, not with pity, but with understanding.
At that moment, everyone knew that trap setting would not only continue, but improve. It didn’t matter how many times they were reassured that Yuuei’s security was top of the line. The villains had gotten in before, they could get in again. In the daylight, they knew their teachers would protect them with their lives, but everyone had to sleep. At night, they were on their own.
And so they adapted and overcame. After classes were done for the day, Yaoyorozu would spend any extra energy creating items for their various contraptions that grew in complexity each night. Many of these creations ended up having electrical components, and in order to not spend a ridiculous amount on car batteries, Kaminari would spend a bit of time most mornings charging various equipment. Sero and Asui ended up spending a fair amount of their time securing the dorms as well, weaving a web of tape nearly every night and reapplying her mucus to all of the balconies respectively.
Not everyone in Class 1-A was suited for the task, however, that’s not to say they didn’t help out. Constantly producing objects took its toll on Yaoyorozu’s body, and to help with that those who were half decent cooks would take turns making dinner for the dorm. Not just junk food either, well-balanced meals that left most of them eating way better than they had been. The healthy diet helped Asui continue making enough of her mucus as well.
A number of their peers were early risers and so morning jogs were the norm. Those early risers took it upon themselves to clear and disarm the traps so that no one would trip one by accident when they woke up. Then, after various morning routines were done, coffee and breakfast would be made for anyone who wanted it. This was the most helpful for Kaminari, who was able to focus in class even if he had fried his brain a little that morning as long as he had caffeine.
There were also those who helped set Sero’s web every night. While it had worked fine before, everyone quickly realized that while Sero’s tape was very good at ensnaring people, it was also incredibly visible. So, they found a solution. Using Kirishima’s hardening, they were able to take long pieces of Sero’s tape and slice them into skinnier ones. After that, they would secure them throughout each floor and the stairwells. This was also why they assigned each floor a leader.
While the web worked just fine on a smaller scale, the farther each piece travels the less obvious a sign of disturbance would be. So each floor had one student’s room that was made into the home base for the web and any other traps located on the level. This didn’t end up working nearly as well for the girls' side since they were more spread out. Instead, they had various motion sensors and cameras that could detect heat signatures that Yaoyorozu had made. There was also a panic button in the floor leader rooms. If pressed it would alert the other leaders who could then contact the other students on their floors.
Was it perfect? Definitely not. Was it something that not only brought the class closer together after the traumatic event they all experienced but also gave them enough peace of mind that even the most anxious of them were able to get full nights of sleep? Yes, and to Class 1-A that was all that mattered.
And that was life in the dorms for their first month of residency. There were very few mishaps with the traps overall. They began to keep bottles or glasses of water in their rooms at night, but if someone needed to go down to the kitchen for any reason, they were pretty good at not disturbing the layout. If they needed to move or disable something, they’d just text their floor leader to make sure they knew that it wasn’t being set off for another reason and would fix it on their way back to their room. Overall, things were going well.
That was, until the first late-night room inspection.
No one was informed ahead of time, not even Iida and Yaoyorozu, so the traps were set like they were every night, completely unaware that they’d finally be put to the test. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t be a villain who would be springing them.
If you told Aizawa what was coming, he almost certainly wouldn’t have gotten out of bed. He was in charge of checking the boys' side with Yamada while Kayama checked the girls. He and Yamada were splitting their efforts since it would have taken way too long to be practical otherwise. As soon as he stepped off the elevator and onto the 2nd floor, Yamada continuing up to the 5th, he was on alert. Something felt wrong, almost like he was on patrol, he felt like he should be paying attention to every shadow. But that was ridiculous, he wasn’t in some dingy alley, he was well into Yuuei grounds and in the middle of the dorms crying out loud. He was perfectly safe.
What Aizawa didn’t realize was that he’d tripped one of the small pieces of tape, setting off a chain reaction that caused Midoriya to bolt upright in his bed. Before Aizawa could even make it to Tokoyami’s room, all of the 2nd floor was awake and the panic button had been pressed.
Without knocking, Aizawa cracked Tokoyami’s door open enough to stick his head in. The lights were off, except for a few fake candles sitting on his dresser, and there was a lump in the bed that looked to be the young man. So Aizawa didn’t linger, simply closing the door quietly behind him.
What he didn’t see was the tether of darkness connecting Tokoyami to where he had rolled between his bed and the wall to Dark Shadow, who was currently underneath the blankets. As soon as the door shut once more, Tokoyami jerked upright and frantically began texting the group chat.
Tsukuyomi: It is not the forces of evil that disturbed the web
Tsukuyomi: Aizawa-sensei appears to conducting room checks
Tsukuyomi: Disarm the contraptions less they are turned against our protector!
Shinsou: shit
Aizawa had just been about to open Aoyoma’s door when Shinsou’s flew open, revealing the teen in a loose t-shirt and sweatpants. His hair was a mess and his eyes were wide with panic.
“Don’t open his door! He hasn’t seen that it was a false alarm yet!”
In the few seconds that Aizawa simply stared at Shinsou in confusion, hand still hovering near the door handle, shit finally hit the fan.
Yamada was screaming, loud enough that Aizawa could hear all the way on the second floor. He didn’t hesitate, turning to bolt for the staircase to rush to his aid. He wasn’t looking where he was stepping, which was why he ended up tripping one of the traps Yaoyorozu and Asui had set up, releasing a weighted net from the ceiling, which immediately landed on him, pinning him to the floor.
Normally a trap like that wouldn’t have been difficult to avoid, but to say Aizawa was caught off guard might have been an understatement. Shinsou bolted over to help pull it off his teacher, who barely let him get out a frantic, “Wait!” before he was off again, bolting up the stairs. It was at that point he heard a surprised shout from Kayama as he passed by the entrance to the 3rd floor, but she didn’t sound nearly as terrified as Mic did, so he kept going.
What in the hell is going on here?!
When Aizawa came crashing into the 5th-floor hallway, he really wasn’t sure what he was expecting, but it sure as hell wasn’t this.
The floor was shining in what appeared to be ice crystals, clearly making the floor slick. And while Aizawa had noticed it, Yamada clearly had not. The Voice Hero was currently suspended upside down from the ceiling, kept there by the tape pinning his ankles together and the bag of flour that was counterbalancing his weight and now lying on the floor. His arms were flailing in the air and he was very vocally voicing his displeasure at the current situation. However, when Aizawa began to move towards him, intent on cutting his friend down and finding out why in the world this was here, to begin with, he suddenly felt his muscles locking.
He barely got out a pained grunt before he slipped on the ice, crashing to the floor as his body froze up against his will, causing Yamada to cry out in shock. He was only lying there a moment before he heard the door to the stairwell open once again, along with one of the bedroom doors, although he didn’t know which one.
“Aizawa-sensei! We’re so sorry, we had no idea you were checking the dorm tonight!” Midoriya frantically exclaimed as he rushed over to where his teacher was lying on the icy floor. At the same time, Todoroki appeared in Aizawa’s peripheral vision, as he appeared to be in the process of cutting Yamada free.
“Problem child… what, is… this?” Aizawa managed to choke out as Midoriya began to help him sit up, although his muscles were still completely locked.
“It’s Asui’s quirk! Her mucus can be used to paralyze people temporarily! There wasn’t much on the net though, so you should be ok in a minute!” Midoriya explained. In the minute that seemed to last forever, Todoroki and Midoriya were able to untie and steady Yamada who had become dizzy from being upside down for so long and Kayama had joined them, along with a number of the other students who continued to trickle in as the seconds ticked by.
Compared to the two of them, Kayama seemed mostly unharmed, if not shaken slightly. Aizawa had heard her shout, but clearly, she seemed to avoid whatever trap had been lying in weight. The students standing behind her all looked concerned and guilty while they waited for their teachers to recover from the ordeal. Once Yamada’s world had seemingly stopped spinning, he started shouting once again.
“What in the world was that about!?” The gathered students all simply ducked their heads, wincing at the volume. “Were we playing some kind of real-life mouse trap game and no one told me!? I was strung up like an animal, yo!”
“We deeply apologize Mic-sensei!” Iida said before anyone else could, hand flying through the air in his signature chopping motion as he spoke. “We were unaware you would be doing a dorm check tonight or we never would have set traps that you might have set off!”
“And we’re sorry to Aizawa-sensei and Midnight-sensei as well. We’re really glad no one was hurt.” Yaoyorozu added once Iida finished, stepping up to join him at the front of the group.
“What I want to know is why there were traps in the first place,” Kayama said calmly, arms crossing over her chest.
“Yes,” Aizawa finally said, getting to his feet and glaring at his class with burning red eyes as his hair began to float, “That’s what I would like to know as well.”
What followed must have been the most awkward elevator ride in history. Everyone made their way downstairs, although Kayama and Yamada didn’t stick around, needing to join Vlad-King in checking the Class 1-B dorm. Aizawa waited until the front door shut behind them before he turned to his class who were all sitting around the couches and chairs in the common room.
“Alright, who wants to explain what the hell is going on, and why you all decided to trap the damn building?”
The silence that followed lasted for only a few moments before Shinsou of all people spoke up.
“It was me, I taught them how to set alarms of sorts after the Summer Training Camp Incident. It spiraled from there. I’ll take responsibility for tonight.”
His declaration broke a dam of sorts as the rest of the class let out various outcries.
“What!? Shinsou, that's not fair, you only told us about it because I was freaking out over nothing!”
“You weren’t ‘freaking out over nothing’ Uraraka! And Shinsou, you’re right, you only taught us how to set alarms, I’m the one who started setting traps with my tape.”
“Hey, you forget I was running a current through my door knob before you told us about your tape web, don’t try and take all the credit!”
“And I had been putting mucus on mine for a while, ribbit.”
“Fine, but I’m the one who told you guys that we had a reason to be anxious in the first place!”
“Shinsou!”
“Alright enough,” Aizawa said firmly, and the argument stopped, eyes turning to him. He was clearly missing something. “Shinsou, what do you mean that you caused their anxiety?”
“It’s not paranoia if it's not unfounded.” Everyone turned to look at Bakugou who was standing closest to the elevator, as if ready to bolt at the drop of a hat. “The extras were scared the League was going to come for them in the middle of the night, and he pointed out that they should be worried. Before we were moved to the dorms you heroes did fuck all to protect our families and homes, of course, we’d fuckin worry about those damn villains showing up!”
“Kacchan…”
“We just wanted to sleep, Aizawa-sensei…” Ashido said quietly, staring at the floor. “I nearly attacked my mom the first night because I thought she was a villain breaking into our home. We just wanted to feel safe again..”
Everyone fell silent in agreement, and Aizawa fought the urge to storm out of the building to go find Shigaraki himself and make him pay for what he’d done to his students. But that wouldn’t help, Yuuei had done everything in their power to make the kids feel safe again, but their trust in the school had been far more damaged in the attack over the summer than they’d thought.
Fooled once, shame on me. Fooled twice, shame on you.
Aizawa let the silence linger for some time longer before he walked over and crouched down in front of Ashido, much to her surprise.
“Firstly, I’m sorry I didn’t notice how deeply the attack affected you all. If I had realized you were struggling with anxiety and trust in your surroundings because of it, I would have stepped in before it got this far.” He paused, making sure his message sunk in. Reactions were mixed, some of his students weren’t meeting his eyes, as if ashamed to show any weakness, while others were staring at him with pleading eyes as if begging him to not apologize for something they saw as their own fault.
“Secondly, I apologize for not making you aware of how highly we’ve been prioritizing your safety. The faculty have been performing regular nightly patrols and these dorms are equipped with the best security available to us. However, I understand that this most likely sounds like empty promises. We have clearly lost your trust in us, and that is no one’s fault but our own-”
“No, Aizawa-sensei-!”
“As I said, the fault lies entirely on us. We’ve been so concerned about keeping things close to our chest that we completely ignored your feelings on the matter. For this, I once again apologize, for whatever little it’s worth.”
Aizawa got back to his feet, stepping back enough to better address the class. They all looked so tired. Not physically, the only one sporting eye bags to rival his own was Shinsou, but mentally. If nothing else, his apology seemed to have lifted some kind of weight that they shouldn’t be upset at Yuuei for their pathetic attempts at protecting them thus far.
“I’m not going to tell you to take down all of your security, just the traps like the one that Mic and I triggered. If there was an emergency and we needed to evacuate the building, it could really endanger you. Whatever you used to figure out I was in the hallway and however, you were able to communicate with each other can stay. I would ask, however, that should something trip your alarms again, you notify me immediately. I can get here from the teachers’ residence in less than 3 minutes, if I take any longer feel free to assume I’ve been compromised and proceed under that assumption. I will also inform Iida and Yaoyorozu about all future dorm checks. I would, however, like to be shown how your system works, so that I can disable or arm it as needed.”
“Of course Aizawa-sensei! I will begin the disabling of the traps once we are dismissed!” Iida declared firmly.
“And I’ll create another panic button that you can keep. I’ll make sure this one has a strong enough signal to communicate with ours. Sero and I can also show you how the web works later.”
“Yeah, it’s actually really cool! It was Midoriya’s idea to have hubs for each floor that all the tape led back to, those are also the rooms with the panic buttons, helps us stay connected.” Sero happily explained. He clearly cared a lot about the way he had found to protect his peers with his quirk.
“Oh, Iida, be careful when disabling the 3rd-floor trap!” Kaminari suddenly exclaimed, everyone, turning to look at him in concern. He quickly raised a hand to the back of his neck, appearing sheepish. “I might have freaked out a little when the panic button went off and supercharged the tape and wire net outside my room. As it stands now, I think there’s enough stored up electricity to cause a small blackout.”
“... I’ll make a few car batteries and jumper cables.”
If Aizawa hadn’t gone completely gray by the time these problem children graduated, it’d be a miracle.
