Chapter Text

Even though they had lost the battle, it wasn't something that caught them off guard.

It was a fun experience, well, as fun as fighting an archangel could be.

His headache went away as soon as he reached the terrenal world again. But once he saw his hands to check if they were solid again, he found three engagement rings on his right.

'Engagement rings?'

Not having his memories were starting to get annoying.

Was he engaged? With who?

The longer he tried to remember, the stronger his headache was getting.

« You got me killed! »

Quackity put a hand on his head as his vision blurred.

'What the fuck? Was that some kind of vision? No, a memory perhaps? Did I kill someone? Who was that?'

"Quackity!"

The voice of one of the guys from before got him out of his head.

"Are you okay?"

He hid the pain, scratching the back of his neck feigning embarrassment "Yes, yes, of course. But... What were you saying?"

The chestnut shakes his head "I was asking you to follow me, Quackity. Let's go get a place to build a house to settle down"

"You want to- You want to live with me?"

He didn't know why, but the premise sounded good. Something inside him stirred with satisfaction.

The guy who apparently went by Luzu nodded.

"We are both men," He said in a blatant attempt to hide his happiness "I clarify that there is nothing wrong"

Luzu just laughed "Okay Quackity, don't worry about it"

Luzu was walking in front of Quackity but turned around to see him every time he spoke.

"Wait, come, come, see that Rubius is overtaking us and he wants to take our area I think"

Quackity followed when Luzu started to run.

'Rubius? He was the one who knew me, right? Maybe he knows something else about me'

"No, no, no. Wait we have to talk about it"

Luzu seemed to know the others. In fact, everyone seemed to know each other pretty well.

What was he doing here? What the hell was Karmaland and why everyone were familiar with each other?

"Quackity listen to me. They are going to take the good places if we don't hurry up"

Rubius was down because of illoJuan, the message appeared in front of everyone in the server but only Quackity went to revive him.

"Don't even think about reviving anyone, ok?"

Rubius was starting to get up when Luzu finished his warning.

"Why not? Why not, Luzu? You're evil and I am not like you, Luzu. I don't want to do bad things!"

Luzu scoffed "Come here, Quacky. That is what you say the first day on Karmaland but don't worry your opinion will change later. Where are you?"

Rubius got up like nothing happened and Quackity lost the sight of Luzu so he started following the bear hibrid.

The field was full of flowers, of life. It was as if nobody had explored beyond the village they had appeared.

"I'm going to collect resources, Luzu"

The other made an affirmative sound and they parted ways.

There was a lot happening, he thought.

Rubius almost died, Luzu was warning him about how things worked on Karmaland and he just wanted a place to spend the first night.

He built a wood house without a lot of space inside. It was enough to spend the night. He was already planning how to build a proper one later, but for now it was enough.

He spend a long moment inside of it. But then it occurred to him that he now needed more wood so he went outside for a second.

A bad choice, really.

There was a snake outside and now he was at two hearts, inside his little wooden house, waiting for Luzu to arrive after practically screaming for help.

Maybe in other day it would've funny but with the day he was having it was exactly the opposite.

"Quackity, open the door! I have a sword, come on, open the door! Where is the door? Where is it?"

He hid his face on his hands "I don't know Luzu! I don't have any doors! I didn't put them, Luzu! I forgot!"

When he finally opened a hole in the wall and came in, he gave Quackity a sword with the promise that he would help him to start in Karmaland by the right way.

He just laughed thanking him for that and taking his word.

A moment later, Quackity was on his own collecting materials. He upgraded his weapons and found food and iron.

He had a lot of questions and knew he wouldn't get answers for most of them. Not unless he talked to someone with knowledge of him.

As he collected things he saw that almost everyone was teaming up to get materials together.

But he found it strangely comfortable to be alone.

The night passed with an awful lot of mobs and minerals.

He decided to finally talk with someone other than Luzu "Good afternoon, good afternoon"

Three voices spoke at the same time.

"Ah, hello Quackity how are ya?" He recognized him as one of the guys with the strange names... Staxx it was?

He answered happy to met someone else "Very good, I'm very good"

"C'mere a second, please. We have something to tell you. A business that just came to our mind" This time the one talking was Rubius.

"Okay, ahorita mismo voy" Once he got the cordinates he started to walk to the position where Rubius, Staxx anf the other person were.

"With what we are going to show you, Quackity, you are going to want to enter every day"

Staxx sounded very sure of his words, so he was starting to get curious about it.

"But ye' can't spill the tea, ok? This is ilegalísimo"

There was the third person, the one he had heard with Rubius and Staxx. By his particular way to speak, he recognized him as the one with copper hair in a low tail. He was fairly sure his name was Lolito.

"Listen this is going to blow your mind. Vegetta can't find out about this, ok?"

Something inside of him was uncomfortable with the way they were treating this, but his mouth betrayed him as always.

"You know I love business"

A feeling of nostalgia came over him as he said them.

Maybe it had been a good idea to go to Rubius, with a little luck his memories could come back with his help.

Rubius pointed to the horizon, where the landscape of Karmaland shone with its simple nature "Well, look, eh... You see those trees over there, don't you?"

"Yeah..."

"Well let's go there" Quackity followed him as it didn't appear to be anything dangerous on that direction.

"No, no, look first let's enjoy a little-"

Rubius' boisterous laughter could be heard even over the deafening explosion that had left him bleeding on the ground.

Despite the ringing in his ears it wasn't hard to figure out what kind of sound was coming out of the smiles of Staxx and Lolito who were holding their stomachs with glee.

"The first landmine of Karmaland!" Rubius screamed among his thunderous laughter.

Quackity's thoughts were disordered and he couldn't make coherent sentences.

The sudden explosion had left him more confused than he would like to admit.

That's why they had called him to this place? It was just to claim the first death by landmine? To claim with pride that they were the first to put a landmine to someone?

He didn't even could identify if the throbbing pain in his head was because of the explosion or if it was because of the sudden memory that was superimposed on the image of the fire eating the grass next to him, but his eyes closed on impulse.

« My L'Manberg, Phil! My unfinished symphony! Forever unfinished! If I can't have this, no one can Phil! »

When he opened his eyes again, he was met with the gaze of the three who had tricked him.

'L'Manberg? Phil? Just what the-?'

Lolito was smiling at him as he talked "Quackity, it was a blasting experience, wasn't it?"

He was still confused about all the things that just happened, but still nodded his head, which caused another round of laughing.

'It was just a joke to break the ice, right?'

Something inside of him was roaring, screaming that it was just the beginning.

Notes:

Ok, ok. First of all, thanks for all the support<3
And second, yes, I know that the lines of Wilbur at the end of the chapter were supposed to only be heard by Phil, right (correct me if I’m wrong)? But in order to have a plot let's say that Quackity also heard them haha ;;
