Chapter Text
Lloyd laid wide awake on the queen sized bed, the incident happened about two months ago yet Lloyd still felt immensely drained. A loud purr came from his side, looking down he saw Fable, his new calico tiger colored cat sleeping soundly besides him.
Lloyd sighed, he had to get up at some point, maybe he could sit with Morro on the sofa while he watched him do homework, or maybe play some games on the click; he's been meaning to beat brasha's high score on just dance for awhile now. He silently stroked Fable's head, receiving a happy purr in return.
Lloyd pushed himself up and out of bed, slowly trudging his way to the white door, pulling it open he was greeted with what he dubbed the 'play room', it was basically just where Morro kept all of the gaming counsels. A Tv was hanging from the back wall, a DVD player was on a hanging shelf under it; there where two book shelves on either side of the Tv filled with books, games, pictures, and small trinkets both Lloyd and Morro had master built together. Wu liked to collect the small things they built. On the coffee table sat an open laptop with several tabs, emails, and a Google doc on it, an empty tea cup was on its plater next to it.
Walking to the right then took a left through a small hall, he came to the front door, he took another left and silently walked into the living room, he saw Morro in the kitchen to the right cutting some vegetables on a wooden cutting board. Lloyd opened his mouth to say something but nothing came out, he grimaced once he remembered he couldn't actually speak anymore.
The blonde boy knocked on the wall getting Morro's full attention.
Morro looked up and smiled slightly at Lloyd, "hey buddy how you feeling today?" He asked while pushing his black and pink hair away from his eyes. Morro and his girlfriend Lilith had been matching hair colors for 2 years, changing the colors when they found a new one they liked, Morro has been pink for three months at this point.
Lloyd only leaned against the wall besides him and closed his eyes.
He heard Morro sigh, "Yeah I bet your tired, why don't you sit down, I'll have lunch ready in a bit."
Lloyd open his eyes and shook his head, he pushed off the wall and walked around the dining table to the counter, sitting down on one stools he pointed at the cutting board Morro was using.
"You wanna help?"
Lloyd nodded in return, he's been feeling a bit useless lately, he hasn't been fighting with the ninja force for two months since the incident, Nya says they have it under control; and he believes her but he still wants to help.
Morro placed a second cutting board and a knife in front of Lloyd breaking him out of his thoughts.
"Cut these in little squares please." Morro said while placing a medium sized red peper, a small green pepper, and a tomato Infront of him.
Lloyd nodded his head and started cutting carefully, knowing full well if he cut his finger Morro would never let him help again, and Kai would never let him hear the end of it.
Both boys worked together in comfortable silence, cooking together had always made Lloyd happy, he liked cooking, sure he wasn't the best; that title went to his mom or Zane, but with Morro helping out it came out really good.
After about an hour of cooking; well Morro cooked and Lloyd just handed him stuff- they both had a nice looking plate of teriyaki chicken and rice with shrimp on the side.
While eating Lloyd pulled over a clip board and pen to write on before pushing his message across the table to an awaiting Morro.
"I'm down to do anything, what do you want to do?" Morro pushed the board back to Lloyd.
'i want to help' Lloyd wrote before pushing it back.
Morro's eyebrow rose, "help how?"
Lloyd shrugged his shoulders, 'I feel useless, I haven't helped in the city since' Lloyd's writing faltered when he thought of the reason why he was on house rest.
"Your not useless Lloyd, the team just doesn't Want you to push your self."
'i still want to do something it's not like I died'
Morro gave him a look and Lloyd grimaced. Morro was right, that was the closest to death Lloyd had ever come before, he could still feel the sting on his neck from the knife, the smell of iron from his blood filling the air-
"Lloyd!" Morro said shaking his shoulder, Lloyd shook his head, his cheeks felt hot- was he crying?
"Your all right buddy, it's fine, your safe." Morro kept repeating sweet nothings into Lloyd's ear while he sat next to him and rubbed his back comfortably.
Lloyd gave Morro a thumbs up while rubbing his temples, maybe his team did have a reason to exclude him for a bit longer.
After dinner Lloyd washed the leftover dishes, and Morro put condiments away, a small frown etched into his face. Lloyd frowned slightly knowing Morro was going to talk to him about something, preferably not about what just happened but he could always wish.
After everything was meticulously cleaned, thanks to Morro's germophobia, both boys went back to the play room and sat down on the brown sofa. Morro pulled his laptop to his lap and started typing immediately, Lloyd grabbed the clicks controller, turned the TV on and sat down. After a few minutes of furious typing and several matches being played; with various victories and losses, Morro closed his laptop with a sigh. He watched Lloyd play until the victory sign pull in.
"Your team won by like, 0.5%" Morro pointed out the obviously close score, Lloyd rolled his eyes and closed out of his game, he turned towards Morro with an eyebrow raised.
Morro tapped his fingers on his laptop before continuing, "Uhm, well, I was talking to your mom, and your little group about getting you away from the city for a bit."
Lloyd tilted his head before grabbing his small notebook and writing, 'Why? I'm perfectly fine here'
"I know that, but everyone's worried about you, I was think you could come up to Jamanakai city with me for awhile, you know get some fresh air." Morro said moving his arms for emphasis.
Lloyd looked down at his hands in thought, "look I know you like it here but even you know being here to long is toxic. Sure maybe it's gotten a little better now that everyone knows you could beat them all to a bloody pulp, but you still need a break." Morro said placing a hand on his shoulder.
'how long would I be gone?' Lloyd wrote down before fidgeting with his pencil.
"How ever long you want, I preferably would like you to stay till the end of summer, which is what? Two months?"
'2 1/2'
"See two and a half Months, it'll be fun, plus I won't have to much school work to do, I might only take maybe one summer semester this year, and if I am swampt you can go out with one of my roommates." Morro said with a smile.
Lloyd nibbled his lip in thought, 'and the dog?'
Morro laughed, "yes Lloyd and the dog will also be there, plus there is a horse ranch near by that gives pretty cheap lessons, if you want you could take some."
'whats the difference between horses and my mech?' Lloyd wrote down then folded his arms against his chest in retaliation.
"One can fly dummy." Morro said with a chuckle when Lloyd's eyes narrowed. "Lloyd I won't force you but I'm not going to stop being annoying until I leave."
Lloyd was about to write down his answer when his phone pinged loudly, followed by five more. Lloyd picked up his phone seeing six messages from his friends with an individual message saying in there words why it would be a good idea to join Morro up in Jamanakai city for the summer.
Kai's just consisted of 'go with Morro before I drag you there myself'. Nya's was much the same, just worded a bit nicer. just a tad though.
Lloyd smiled a bit before grabbing his note book and writing down 'i want to sleep with Rajah'
Morro's wrinkled his nose in disgust, "your little butt better give her a bath every single day if you want that."
Lloyd nodded his head with a smile plastered on his face, maybe he could get over this with time.
