The kitten - no, his successor - scrubbed his little paw across his face then flicked his ear.
He was so small. A little ball of fluff, with black fur and bright blue eyes. His paws were tiny and pink and he could probably fit comfortably in Jason's hand with room to spare--
Damnit. No. Jason was better than this. He had been trained by Talia Al Ghul herself. He just had to get the kid to change back, then he could resume his plan.
"Turn back. Right now." Jason growled.
The brat twitched his whiskers and stared. A tiny, indignant ball of fur. The green that had been on the edges of his vision pulsed as it began to recede.
No, no, no, he was the Red Hood, damnit. He was not going to be bested by a goddamn kitten.
"You think I won't kick a cat?" He snarled.
Oh God, Jason felt sick just thinking about it.
The kitten- no, Robin - swiped his arm across his head. When he looked back up, his eyes were wide and his little ear was folded back and--
Jason cooed.
He shook his head. "Stop that."
Tim gave him a confused mrrp. As if the little bastard didn't know exactly what he was doing.
Jason pointed his finger at Tim threateningly. "Change back."
Tim headbutted his hand and started purring.
"Do you have no self-preservation instincts? I'm here to kill you, idiot." Jason's voice was soft even to his own ears.
Tim headbutted him again, purring louder.
"Dick spoiled you, didn't he? Overly affectionate moron." Jason murmured, gently stroking a finger over Tim's forehead. He was biding his time. Nothing more.
He bided his time for over an hour doting on Tim, who wrangled half a cheese and ham sandwich, three loose bullets and a limitless amount of pats off Jason.
He also bided his time when Batman and Nightwing stormed in, only to see Jason lying on the couch with Tim curled up on his chest purring like the spoiled brat he is.
And yes, he was still biding his time a month later when Tim claimed the top of his head as a vantage point to tower over the rest of their stupid family.
Point is, he could enact his plan at any point, he's just waiting for the right moment. Obviously.
