Work Text:
It was colder than usual today, Well it was winter of course, but the cold breeze made Tommy shiver.
It was six in the morning and Tommy was making drafts, he needed a new book idea, he knew it was going to be a kids book, because that's what the contract he signed said, but he couldn't think of any thing.
"Dumbass contract, couldn't even give me ideas," Tommy pouted like a toddler.
Ranboo, who was sat across from him, sketching an elf, "Maybe you should take a break and eat something? You might have ideas after."
Tommy shrugged, "Fineee," he drawled.
Ranboo rolled he eyes, Tommy acted like a cranky infant in the mornings.
In fact when they first moved in together Kristin, Tommy's mum warned Ranboo about his antics.
Tommy got out a carton of milk, he twisted the lid off and poured some into the bowl.
"Really, milk first?" Ranboo said, looking distraught.
Tommy flipped him off, he patted the bottom of the carton, not much milk was left.
He went into the pantry and looked for cartons, there were no more.
Tommy raised an eyebrow, "Ranboo is all the milk done?"
Ranboo looked up, "Check in the cabinet there might be some powdered milk left."
Tommy opened the cabinets and looked for a tin of powdered milk, he opened up the tin he found, it was empty.
He groaned, "I wanted cereal," he frowned.
"We can go shop for some milk, maybe you'll get ideas from that," Ranboo teased.
"Prick."
-
They arrived at a market, the single goal was to get milk and leave, pretty simple right?
As Tommy picked out a shopping cart, Ranboo noticed an elderly lady with a strange hat near the cleaning products isle, was she sniffing detergent?
He raised an eyebrow, Tommy looked at him confused, Ranboo shrugged and waved him over.
The two approached the lady, but before they talked to her, Tommy tugged Ranboo's sleeve.
"Ran, that's the lady that gave me the doll and made you a cat, remember?" Tommy grinned.
"Oh," Ranboo sighed,"Let's go back-"
"Hey miss!" Tommy exclaimed as he walked to the lady.
Ranboo groaned, Tommy and him needed to stop interacting with dangerous witches.
Actually they shouldn't have been interacting with witches at all!
Ranboo ran after Tommy.
"Oh hello boys! I didn't think I would see you two again," She smiled at Tommy and stared blandly at Ranboo.
Ranboo pursed his lips.
"What are you doing here- uh looking at the cleaning products?" Ranboo scratched the back of his head.
"Oh- I'm just looking for ingredients for my new concoction."
'Right so she is a witch,' Ranboo thought sceptically.
Tommy for some reason didn't see anything wrong with the statement.
"Say, maybe you two could help me? I have to do something important, you guys should mix the ingredients for me," The lady suggested.
"No."
"Sure!"
The duo glared at eachother.
"I won't curse you anymore if you do this for me," The lady smirked maliciously.
Ranboo shivered, and eventually agreed, "Can we at least finish getting milk first?"
-
The lady escorted the duo to her house.
"Here's a list," she passed the list to Tommy.
She waved and left quickly.
"That lady does not like me," Ranboo frowned.
"Well duh, anyways isn't it weird we still don't know her name?" Tommy asked.
"Why is that the only thing you have found weird."
"Whatever, don't be a dickhead, let's start mixing this thing already."
-
"First on the list, a slice of blue cheese," Tommy read out.
Ranboo took a knife and cut a slice, he put it into the large ceramic bowl.
"Two cups of salt."
Ranboo poured the two cups of salt, he coughed, "This is already starting to stink," he complained.
Tommy ignored him and read out the next ingredient, "Ooh, yikes, next thing is crush five jalapeños with a mortar and pestle, good luck for your nose."
Ranboo sighed, "I hate that lady and you."
Tommy pouted and wagged his finger, "Hate is a strong, strong and well hateful word Ranboo
Ranboo got the pestle and crushed the peppers with all his strength, he wanted to get all of this done fast.
He poured it into the bowl.
"Lastly pour three point five litres of milk and mix," Tommy read out in a strong posh accent.
"I never want to hear the word milk ever again after this," Ranboo whined.
Ranboo poured the milk in, Tommy and him took two long wooden spoons and began to stir the mixture.
"Finally, at least she won't curse me for days on end anymore," Ranboo wiped sweat off his forehead.
"It was a bit funny though," Tommy cackled.
"Jeez, now you're starting to cackle like her."
-
Tommy got out some clean wrap and wrapped the mixture.
"Now what?" Tommy asked.
"Are you seriously asking that?" Ranboo shook his head, "We can leave."
"Aw, give me a second."
Tommy took out a sticky note and starting writing,
'Hi :D we finished everything - my number is: Big-T-12 - Tommy
P-S Ranboo says-'
"Ranboo did not say anything," Ranboo folded his arms.
Tommy rolled his eyes, he crossed out the last line.
"Okay, we can go now," Tommy smirked like a gremlin.
-
Ranboo and Tommy walked home, Ranboo put the milk cartons in the pantry.
Tommy finally made some cereal, he sat down next to Ranboo and realized something.
"Ranboo, I think I finally have an idea for my new book."
"Oh nice, what is it?"
"I'm not going to tell you now, but it's going to be based on a true story," Tommy smirked.
