Work Header

A Titan in the Falls

Summary:

After two years of nonstop hero work, Robin needed to take a break for the summer. When deciding where to go, he remembers a sleepy town in the middle of Oregon that he visited three years ago for a case. He makes his way towards Gravity Falls, Oregon. It isn't long before strange things start happening, starting with the discovery of an old journal in the woods.

Notes:

This story is crossposted on both FanFiction.Net and Wattpad under the names Wolfie113 and HaydenW13 respectively. I have finished 6 chapters, and am currently working on chapter 7. Enjoy!

Chapter 1: Explanation, and other things

Summary:

So I forgot too or just straight up decided not to post this originally but I was looking back at the fic and just remembered. Basically it’s just extra information and background stuff.

Chapter Text

So some extra information:

Robin is Dick Grayson

The Titans have been together for 2 years

The series took place in a year and 6 months and the movie happened two months later.

The starting ages and current ages are:

BB: was 14, now 16

Robin: was 15, now 17

Raven: was 15, now 17

Starfire: was 16, now 18

Cyborg: was 17, now 19

I might be aging Wendy up by one year, so she's 16 instead of 15.

Now you might be asking, "why would  Teen Titans and Gravity Falls ever have a crossover?" Well I'm glad you asked. At the moment I have a basic out line of how to get the story started. Here it is:

[ ]~ anything in these are my notes and quick explanations

( )- and anything in these are things I'd imagine Robin thinking

When Robin was 14 Batman sent him to investigate a lead he had in Gravity Falls [Dick goes alone, I'll try to think of a better reason for why but at the moment it's because, while crime wasn't super high it was still high enough that the police would need a little help]. He went by Dick but didn't come up with a last name. Dick stayed at a hotel in town and decided to try and get a job so he would stick out as much, but the no last name was a part was a bit of a problem. Luckily for him Stan didn't care about any of the legal stuff, so he just added Dick a broom and told him to get to work. While at the Shack he worked with a 13 year old Wendy and a 19 year old Soos. Dick stayed for the whole summer but ultimately found nothing, so he returned to Gotham once summer ended.

3 years later and after 2 years of practically non-stop heroing with the Titans, Robin decided that he needed a break from hero work for a summer. So during the month of May he looks for a place to go, ( while he has somewhat made up with Bruce, he knows that if he goes Gotham he'll get roped into hero work) before he remembers his trip to Gravity Falls. It was a small (mostly) quiet town in the middle of no where, he could actually enjoy it this time since there wouldn't be any leads to find, and Stan told him that he was welcome to come back and work for him ( mostly because it meant that Stan had to do less work). So at the end of May he told the Titans that he was heading to Gotham for the summer to be with his family (he only said that to hopefully stop them from trying to following him). Then he called up Stan, packed his bags, got his normal motorcycle, and left.  He arrived on May 28th [so in journal 3, Dippers first entry is on June 1st, but I'm assuming that they arrived a bit before that, so maybe a week before June 1st] he met two strange kids, who happened to be Stan's great niece and nephew (why their parents would trust them with Stan he would never know). Sadly Dick wasn't able to get a hotel room since all of them were booked, but Stan offered to let him stay at the Shack as long as Stan didn't have to pay him (Dick accepted the deal since he didn't really care about being paid, he just wanted a break). Dick then immediately got pulled into the Mystery Twins' shenanigans.

With that out of the way I also have a drawing for what Robin would look like,

(This is my drawing from one of my sketchbooks)

So if you're wandering about the "lines" on his face, those are scars. I know in the actual TT he doesn't have any, but it's kinda hard to believe that he doesn't have scars. The kids started fighting crime when he was 8 and in Gotham, in this story he fought crime in Gotham for 6 years and 2 years in Jump City with the Titans.

The mention of scars brings up another topic, during most of the story he won't have his scars. So I've had this idea for a, i don't really know what it should be called so we're going with, chip. In Gotham Robin had to be pretty separate from Dick Grayson because secret identities exist. So if Dick got a visible scar ( I'm talking about if they were on his face or hands) as Robin and he showed up to school or a gala with them, people could start to connect the dots. So Batman made a chip that can be placed at the base of ones neck, the chip would make something similar to a hologram and hide the scars. Feel like he'd also use the chip even while he was with the Titans because he's somewhat self-conscious about them.

Ok now that I'm done with the scar part, I'm going over colors since the picture was done in pencil. So we know he has black hair and that he's Caucasian, but he's also Romani so what's going to happen is that he's going to be pale at the start of the story and pretty tanned by the end of the story since he's been outside in the sun so much ( I feel like the only reason he's really pale is because 1. While he was in Gotham they only did hero work at night, so no sun, but it's also Gotham so it probably pretty dark even during the day, and 2) even while with the Titans, who did hero work during the day and night, he still spent a lot of time out of the sun). For eye color, I like the idea that he wears contacts ( him and Bruce can't be dumb enough to not have extra protection under the mask and cowl, because both of them are extremely recognizable ) so his eyes will probably be "brown" or "hazel". His flannel is dark grey, his t-shirt is black, his jeans are going to change because i can't decide between light blue, dark blue, or black. And he switches between combat boots, and a pair of sneakers ( though he did pack his steel-toed boots).

I feel like that's all I needed to do in this chapter.

so I hope you liked it, and see you later!
