Inked Connections

Summary:

Bonten was not expecting to run into a decade-long missing face while walking into a tattoo parlor to get a consult for their Hanafuda tattoos.

Neither did anyone else who just so happened to walk into that shop.

Chapter 1: Found

Chapter Text

One Hanagaki Takemichi hadn't gotten involved with gangs since his teen years.

In fact, he hadn't seen any of his gang affiliated friends in a literal decade.

He had gotten in way too deep and ran to escape the situation- No one had ever found him so he assumed either no one cared to look for him or they just hadn't found him.

So it was a surprise to Takemichi one day that, just by chance, a very...different Mikey walked through the doors into his tattoo shop.

Mikey had changed greatly over the years, hair now dyed white and bags plaguing the area under his eyes.

As the former piss haired man stood up to greet him at the front, several other pastel haired men walked in the doors.

"Eh- KOKO?" Takemichi incredulously half yelled, drawing attention to himself.

Said man's eyes went wide- He had last heard that voice years ago, before it had disappeared into the night.

"Takemichi?"

The husk of a man that Mikey became suddenly sprang to life, whipping his head between his executive and the seemingly normal tattoo artist; mouth ajar and eyes the size of dinner plates.

"It’s good to see you again after all these years, Koko!" Takemichi flashed the white haired man his patented Hanagaki Takemichi Smile™️, genuinely happy to be seeing him again.

"How have you bee-" He was cut off when a large mass came at him at terminal velocity and hit him; Blinking, he found his face half buried in a very expensive brand name suit's shoulder.

"Koko?"

"Where have you been, you idiot?!" A very frustrated-relieved nearly in tears money-maker demanded of him.

"Eh? I've been here, saving up to open this shop......" He was nearly bowled over by another white haired man.

"Mikey?" Feeling wetness in-between his shoulder blades, he twisted his head trying to look at the (presumably) crying former head of Toman.

He looked back at the respective pink and purple haired men for help, but found they were watching stoically.

Hanagaki Takemichi was on his own for this struggle.

After tears had been wiped and nerves calmed, Takemichi flipped the 'Open!' sign to 'Closed!' and gathered the various chairs around the shop into a circle.

Once all seated, Koko on one side of him refusing to let go of one of his hands, Mikey on the other leaning his head into the crux of his shoulder and neck, he turned to talk to the room.

"Soooooooooo, wanna tell me what that was about?" He started off.

"My king has been looking for you for years." The pink haired man told him shortly.

"King?"

"He means Mikey." The bored looking purplette elaborated.

Takemichi turned his head as far as he could without dislodging Mikey "Why does he call you king?"

"Mmm, Sanzu's always been weird like that."

"Wait- THATS SANZU-

Sanzu looked offended, but Takemichi couldn’t tell if it was because of what he had said or what Mikey had.

Mikey grabbed his former bitch's hand in a possessive grasp- this time he wasn't letting go.

Even if Takemichi begged to be free.

"Sooo, why did you come to my shop?" Takemichi, after a short awkward silence, decided to ask.

"Mikey's starting a new gang and we, the executives, are getting tattoos to symbolize our loyalty to Mikey and his cause. We came here to scope it out." Koko decidedly answered after a few seconds, since no one else was answering.

"Oh! What type of tattoo were you thinking of?"

"Izana's Hanafuda earrings." Mikey deadpanned. Takemichi flinched- Izana's death was still a sore spot for him and what ultimately drove him away from gang life.

Takemichi talked schematics and prices with them for a few more minutes before they left and he closed shop early.

Koko had taken a chance while they were still talking to give him a business card with a hand written personal phone number on it- to which Mikey apparently pouted for the first time in years, claimed it wasn't fair, and grabbed a spare pen that was laying around and writing his own personal phone number down on the back of the same card.

With the universal sign for 'call me', Mikey had to be dragged out of the shop by his subordinates, leaving Takemichi to bathe in the silence.

Oh.

Takemichi hadn't known that he missed the rambunctious atmosphere that gang life brought that much.
