END RACISM IN THE OTW - Citrus if this series ends with them dead i will never forgive you /lh /j

Summary:

Fanart of a scene from Citrus’ (CirrusGrey’s) Anniversary!

See the Call to Action for more information on the racist harassment in the OTW and what you can do to help.

Notes:

Fanart! Yay! This scene made me so emotional

Content warnings for the end notes: I go on a little ramble about Fentanyl (in the context of it being an opiod used as prescription pain medication), so if you don’t want to see that… dont read the end note lol.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Two drawings of Jon and Martin from The Magnus Archives. In the first drawing, Jon — a dark skinned, long brown and grey haired man wearing a green hoodie — and Martin — a white man with short brown hair wearing jeans and a blue t-shirt — are sitting on the grass. A dead tree is in front of them and in the sky behind them is a giant green eye. Jon says, “Yes, Martin, you are my reason.” Martin responds, “Just wanted to make you say it.” In the second, Jon — now wearing a green t-shirt, grey shorts, and socks — and Martin — wearing a blue t-shirt, lighter grey shorts, and socks — sitting on a brown sofa. Jon has one hand on a box and another around Martin. Martin is crying happily and looking at a paper. Above them is the text, “It’s been ten long years, and you’re still my reason.” The wall is blue and the floor is wooden.

Notes:

Not sure how proud i am of this, but i had to draw it.

Also, that patch on Jon’s arm is a fentanyl patch. I’ve done some research on it and although he’s definitely got breathing issues due to the smoking and the inhalation of CO₂, it seems like the medication he’d take for the pain that almost definitely comes from all the injuries he’s sustained over the years. Fentanyl patches are usually for longer lasting pain.

More info on Fentanyl I think is relevant:
- Fentanyl is addictive (it’s an opiod)
- Fentanyl patches are meant to be put on undamaged skin (I’m guessing skin with healed scars also counts)
- Fentanyl is a Class A controlled drug in the UK (meaning most controlled)
- You should start by taking morphine once a day before going on to Fentanyl, because Fentanyl is VERY potent.
- You can’t quit Fentanyl cold turkey without going through withdrawal
- People with breathing problems need to tell their doctor before taking Fentanyl. This is true for literally every medication treating severe chronic pain

Also, I think my Jon taking Sertraline for PTSD (it’s an antidepressant, and it’s commonly used for treating PTSD) is not gonna happen, because taking Setraline and Fentanyl together can cause serotonin syndrome!!! Which sucks, by the way. I had to drop out of summer school bc of it lol.

Anyway, note over lol. Citrus if you’re reading this, castaways makes me so soft.
