Chapter Text
The Stone family was heading out the door to get to their only son to his cancer treatment. They walked into the hospital and was directed to Saanvi’s office. Grace knocked on the door.
“Come in” Saanvi said. The Stone’s walked into her office. Saanvi was talking to Alex she looked at Ben when she saw who it was.
“Thank you doctor. I will get back to you when I have that information” Saanvi said hinting that Alex should leave.
“I need to take a DNA swab on Cal first before we start” Saanvi said looking at her patient’s parents for conformation.
“Sure” Grace said. Saanvi walked around to the other side of her desk to get a DNA swab. She asked Cal to open his month. He did. And then she swabbed his inner cheek. She rubbed it on a piece of glass and put that piece of glass under a microscope. She said some words to herself that no one could hear. She threw the DNA swab into the trash and found a new one from her desk and swabbed herself. She noted something on a post-it.
“Ben, could I get yours too?” she asked looking at him. Ben just nodded. She grabbed a third DNA swab and swabbed his cheek too. Saanvi was staring at the wall. Her eyes widening. Ben knew that look all too well. Saanvi snapped out of it. Ben put a hand on her shoulder and hugged her. Grace looked at him. A silent question in her eyes. He shook his head at her.
“You okey? - I thought we didn’t get callings anymore” Ben asked.
“I got one yesterday too. I think this is the same situation as it was with Eden” Saanvi said into Ben’s shoulder.
“What did you see?” Ben asked.
“Why does that matter Ben, it’s not like we finally have a second chance to do things right. I don’t want it to be like last time i want you to have a life outside of solving these callings” Saanvi said forgetting that Cal, Olive, and Grace were in the room. Saanvi looked up at Ben with love in her eyes. She placed her hand on his. Her eyes pleading him to not invest more energy into this. She led the Stone’s out of her office and into a treatment room. She begun to prepare everything to get Cal ready to continue his cancer treatment.
“Olive, could you stay here with your brother. I have to talk to you dad and your doctor. Outside please” Grace said.
“What is it Grace” Saanvi asked.
“What was going on in there. It’s like you speak an entirely different language that only you guys can understand” Grace asked looking between Ben and Saanvi.
“You haven’t told her?” Saanvi asked looking at Ben.
“What do you expect me to say? That we went on that plane and landed 5 years later or that we begun to see thing and hear things no one else were. Is that what you expect doctor Bahl?” Ben asked.
“I understand why you didn’t now? It sounds unbelievable when you said it like that” Saanvi admitted.
“you’re saying that you got of that plane from Jamaica, and it was 2018 and not 2013. And that you begun to see things and hear things” Grace asked them not at all believing what her husband was saying.
“If you’re going to continue with this nonsense. You might as well hook up with her. It seams like you have already done that once or maybe even twice. Don’t think I didn’t see the looks you give each other. I’m not going to become someone’s second choice Ben. You should realize that by now. I don’t know what happened on that plane, but you are not the same person I fell I love with all those years ago.” Grace continued.
“I’m sorry Grace but we are not having this conversation here. Can we take it at home please” Ben begged.
“NO! we are not going to do that Ben” Grace said. Saanvi tried to walk into the room where Cal and Olive were. “You are not going to leave Saanvi” Grace said before Saanvi could walk out of the hall.
