Chapter Text
Yonji never understood why they bullied Sanji, he simply copied what his two older brothers did.
No one ever told him it was wrong; even their eldest sibling, Rejiu, never commented on anything he did - in fact, she laughed along with them. It was the same with their father who never said anything on the matter - not even when he saw the three boys beating Sanji to a pulp.
Despite everything, it confused him a bit, and often wondered why they beat Sanji - it’s not like he gets in their way or anything. Yonji never felt sympathy or pity for anyone or anything really. That being said, he doesn’t understand the concept of emotions or feelings; the concept was looked down upon by their father, saying it was a weakness.
Now digging into the topic, perhaps that’s why they pick on Sanji. Since showing emotions is weak, that means Sanji is weak. Problem solved, there’s no need to ask any further.
Yet…
It made Yonji feel a deep sore in his chest, like there’s a gaping void inside. The curiosity gnawed at him like a gluttonous animal with a bottomless stomach.
What were emotions like?
What is it like to feel joy ?
What is the feeling of anger , or hatred ? Is it possible for him to feel greed , envy or fear ?
What is it like?
Yonji wanted to know.
And yet he couldn’t.
But he wanted to…
