Chapter Text

Jason smiled, waving as the Astiansgot back on their ship and went to communicate the new peaceful agreement they had come to with earth, doing everything to hold onto the smile until their ship disappeared from view.

Diana approached him as he dug into his pocket, “It seems congratulations are in order.”

Jason bit back hysterical laughter, “Yeah, uh I need to make a call real quick.” As he hit one of his contacts, he stepped into one of the hallways, in an effort to get sort of out of view.

“Jay?” Dick’s voice came over the phone, “Me and Dames just finished at the circus. He tried to adopt the elephant and declared that the whirling wheel is the work of a demon. Want us to come to your place or are you giving the okay for Dames to go back to the manor, I know you know that Bruce apologized.”

Jason pushed back his hair, “The aliens said I’m pregnant.”

There was a pause, “The aliens?”

“Justice League needed an omega that adopted a kit to act as a go  between the league and these Astians and they called me Carrier of Life and said I honored them by showing up carrying new life.”

“Jay breath! Follow me, in… and out, in… and out.”

Jason stopped and focused on Dick’s voice slowly calming down, distantly noting how as his hand relaxed the plastic of the case creaked oddly. He had broken another phone case.

“Alright, are you with me?”

Jason nodded, not that Dick could see it, “Yeah.”

“Do you want to meet in the cave so we can confirm what the aliens said or do you want to go home and rest first?”

“The cave. Not going to get any rest until I get a certain answer from something I trust more than aliens that only want to talk to people capable of having babies.”

“Me and Damian are headed back. We’ll be in the cave in fifteen minutes. Meet you there?”

Jason nodded again before remembering he was on the phone, “Yeah, I’ll go take a zeta down to the cave.” Hanging up the phone Jason slipped the phone in his pocket and walked, in something resembling a glaze, towards the zeta tubes. Where he found Bruce waiting, face blank. Blinking at Bruce he continued to the zeta tubes.

“J-Hood.”

Jason held his hand up to stop Bruce, “Not until we know for sure.”

“Alright.” Bruce placed a hand on Jason’s back, ushering him forward, “Let’s get you home.”

For once not reacting to Bruce’s atypical behavior Jason typed in the code for the cave and took a deep breath, time to learn what the future held.
