The ground around him rumbled ominously. Chapter Text

She’s dead. You won.

The words didn’t feel real to Scar. He stared dumbfounded at the translucent image of Grian, the one from a previous loop. The one who had sent Scar’s own bloody body tumbling into the sand. The one who won.

Scar couldn’t have won this game, no way. “How did the guy with no friends win?” He choked out, tears stung at the corners of his eyes. “How did the guy with no friends win?” He asked again.

The image of Grian flickered into one with a determined expression and teal hair. Scott. The second winner. Scar took a step forward as Pearl, the third winner, appeared. A look of deep loneliness was plastered on her scarred face, close to the one he had hid this entire season. Martyn appeared, covered in scales and dried blood with a manic smile on his face.

The image flickered away and a glowing path started near Scar’s feet, leading to the Secret Keeper. Scar followed the purple light, trying to ignore the bloodstained land around him. It took him through Mounders territory, or what was left of it anyway, winding around the large hills and homes. The glowing eventually ceased and Scar looked up to see he had arrived. The horizon changed into a deep purple around the large statue. It was a large stone bust, as big as a house, sculpted with a large cloak and flowing hair that shadowed its face, if you could even call it that. The statue had no facial features, no ears, no nose, no mouth. It did have a strange symbol where the face should be, but no other features. Two L shapes pushed together with dots on either side, like a broken rectangle. The images of the previous four winners stood around the success button underneath the head of the statue. Scar pulled out his task from his pocket.

Win Secret Life.

He sucked in a breath, and walked forward towards the button. He hesitantly held his hand over the surface, and in one swift motion, Scar pushed the button. The ghosts of previous winners filtered away through a light show of fireworks as the word Success floated in front of his face. The light faded away and Scar was left in darkness again. A scroll of paper flew around him into his hand. He unrolled his new task.

Win Secret Life.

He stared at the paper. He pressed the button again, small fireworks going off as Success appeared in front of him. Another scroll appeared. Win Secret Life. He looked around the desolate world, and he was completely alone. He won already, shouldn’t it send him home? He hit the button again and again.

Win Secret Life.

Win Secret Life.

Win Secret Life.

Tears started slipping down his face.

Win Secret Life.

Win Secret Life.

“I’ve already won! WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?!” He shouted, crumpling up the scroll and chucking it at the statue. It bounced off the rock, crumpled paper unfurling slightly as it rolled back to land by his feet.

Win Secret Life.

The ground around him rumbled ominously. He had just enough time to consider that hey, maybe chucking the task scroll at the spooky statue wasn’t a good idea, before the strange symbol on the statue glowed a violent purple, and Scar was left floating in a white abyss in front of the statue. Not floating, falling. Scar was falling. Falling? How? There was a slight echo of screams above him. He stared at the statue, the only other thing in this void, for answers. The symbol had disappeared, and its place was a large eye staring back at Scar.

He shut his eyes immediately, trying his best to avoid eye contact. He felt as if he was falling for ages, when suddenly, he hit solid ground.

“Who’s that?”

Jimmy and Martyn were coming back to spawn after the recent jump, only to find a mystery figure laying on the ground covered in cuts and bruises. He had messy brown hair and pointed ears, his clothes were covered in bright red flowers and… blood?  “Do you think he’s safe?” Jimmy looked at Martyn.

Martyn took a step toward the figure, “He looks knocked out.”

The mystery-man groaned and weakly tried to move his body off the ground. Jimmy and Martyn both took a step back. The man tried to raise his head to look at his surroundings. His eyes were a dull gray and he had a large scar across his nose. He looked terrified.

Jimmy took a deep breath and walked towards the man.

”Hi,” He said, “Welcome to Evo.”
