Chapter 19: Snow

Summary:

Being in the snow is always a fun experience.

Adults and children alike enjoy playing in it.

Playing in the snow can be a valuable family experience.

It can be the perfect way to forget about your worries.

Notes:

Hello, all! I did an Eminem reference in the last chapter note, but here I'm gonna do a more formal return speech, for lack of better terminology.

On Chapter 17, I said that "I'm not going anytime soon," and then promptly proceeded to not update this for almost a year (I was a month and a few days too late, but close enough). I sorta forgot about it in the rush of school and new projects on AO3. Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring, and now approaching the end of my Sophomore year of High School, I'm feeling a bit disheartened - between the Seniors graduating this year, the Juniors graduating next year, and people just straight-up dropping out, I'm gonna lose most of my friend group by my Senior year. That made me sad.

But then I remembered this, while looking at my older projects (I know I only have seven and only three of them are being consistently updated, but still). I remembered the people who read this story and enjoyed it so much, who were so supportive of my endeavors in NUzi fluff, and I remembered how happy I was when a chapter turned out to be a success (an 18-chapter streak, which is insane to me). I remembered how I sorta just fell off with no announcement or explanation. And I decided that I would come back, revive this, my most successful fic yet (which may soon be eclipsed by Bound by Fate, which got a lot of hits from Reddit, where I used to post the original version), with the goal of delivering NUzi fluff (now with a child) for you to consume and enjoy, because I'm happy when you're happy.

Thank you so much for all the support. And please, enjoy.

Your joke: I'm having trouble getting this yoga instructor to get out of my house. I keep telling her to leave, but she just says "Namaste."

Chapter Text

Miya was sad today. She was sad because while she was drawing with other kids about her age, some older Drones came and ruined her drawing of her family. Uzi hated seeing Miya so sad. N did too. But neither of them had an idea to fix it.

Until, suddenly, N thought of something.

"I know how to cheer her up," he told Uzi. Miya was sitting in the living room, watching a cartoon with a grumpy/sad expression on her face. "How about we take her out in the snow?" Uzi thought for a moment.

"That might work," she said. "That's a really good idea, N." N beamed at Uzi's compliment.

"I'll go tell her then!" N happily trotted off to the living room, sitting next to Miya on the couch.

At her father's presence, Miya looked up. "Papa!" she cried as she grabbed his arm and hugged it tightly.

"Hey, kiddo," he said, placing her in his lap. "Do you wanna go play in the snow?" Miya's eyes lit up.

"Play... in the sno! Play with mama and papa! Yay!" She instantly cheered up, bouncing up and down in N's lap in pure excitement. N laughed.

"I'm glad you're excited, kiddo," he said with a broad smile on his face. "Let's go get you dressed up so you don't get too cold."

Soon, Miya was wrapped up in a puffy jacket, some long pants, a fluffy hat, and a pair of little boots. She looked adorable. Uzi was getting dressed herself,

(This is a WIP. I didn't save it as a draft because I wanted to go ahead and share the note I left. I will finish the chapter later tonight)
