Chapter Text
“Wait where’d she go?” Amy frowned and turned to where little Harry had been sitting (it was still werid seeing small Harry after hanging out with Harry for the past couple of times when he was “in the neighborhood”). “Wait where’s Harry?”
“Must’ve followed her,” the Doctor frowned. “They’re headed to Deck 207, Apple Sesame Block, Dwelling 54A. You’re looking for Many Tanner.”
“And how do you know that?” Amy frowned at the Doctor.
“Oh, this fell out of her pocket when I talked to her earlier,” the Doctor pulled out a small wallet that was mulity colored. “Anyways ask her about those things. The smiling fellows in the booths. They’re everywhere!”
“But they’re just things,” Amy frowned and she studied the strang men the the booths. They looked like fortune teller booths, but the guy inside was dressed in judge robes and looked like the head of a Dummy.
“They’re clean,” the Doctor pointed out. Amy looked closer they were oddly cleaner than everything else. “Everything else here is all battered and filthy. Look at this place, but no one has llaid a finger on those booths! Not a footprint within two feet of them. Look. Once you find them ask Mandy: why are people afirad of the things in the booths?”
“Now hang on! Why me?” Amy frowned. “I’m not even dressed! Why can’t you go find Harry and Mandy? What are you planning on doing?”
“Taying out of trouble,” the Doctor smirked as if he knew something Amy didn’t. “Meet me back here in half an hour.”
“So is this how it works Doctor?” Amy shooker her head as she watched the doctor begin to walk in the opposite direction of Harry and Mandy. “You never interfer in the affairs of peoples or planets, unless there’s children crying?”
The Doctor’s face went wonky for a moment, like a bad taste in his mouth, then if softened. “Yes.”
“Mhm,” Amy studied the Doctor as he disappeared into the crowded. Then went to go find Harry and the girl.
↜——-↝
“You’re following me!” the girl accused Harry with a sniffle. She had walked for about 5 mintues before spinning around and confronting him. “You and that strange man were watching me in the market! And that crazy woman!”
“Miss. Amy isn’t crazy,” Harry shrugged. “She just forgot to get changed before we came here.”
“Oh,” the girl frowned.
“Why are you crying?” Harry asked
“I don’t wanna talk about it,” the girl ended upwalking over to a dumpster and sat down behind it with her knee drawn in.
“That’ts ok,” Harry shrugged. “I don’t like talking about sad stuff either.”
“Yeah,” the girl frowned.
Harry sat down across from her, “I’m Harry by the way.”
“Mandy,” the girl, Mandy, nodded.
“I think Miss Amy is after us too,” Harry looked back to the street. “Should we wait for her? Or maybe go find her.”
“I don’t want the crazy person to find us sooner so we can wait,” Mandy huffed.
“She’s not crazy,” Harry giggled
“Well she sounded Scottish,” Mandy rolled her eyes.
“Are Scottish people crazy?” Harry frowned.
“My grandad said the red-heads are,” Mandy shrugged.
“Well I’ve never met someone like Miss. Amy before, but I swear she isn’t crazy,” Harry then decided it would be best to wait for Miss. Amy so he plopped down next to Mandy. “So what’s it like living on a spaceship?”
“Do you not live on one too?” Mandy frowned.
“Nope,” Harry popped the p. “I live on a planet, it’s rather boring.”
“Well living on a spaceship is also boring,” Mandy told him.
“Is it always this smoky?” Harry frowned. This spacifica area of the ship seemed similar to an alleyway that his Unlce said drug deals went down in.
“I guess,” Mandy shrugged.
“There you two are!” Miss Amy’s voice greeted them causing Harry to jump a little. “What we doing over here?”
“Just talking,” Mandy stood up abruptly, Harry quickly followed.
“Well you dropped this,” Miss. Amy smirked and handed over a colorful wallet.
“Yeah, when your friend bumped into me!” Mandy scoffed and when ahead.
“Mandy wait!” Harry called and went after her, Miss Amy close behind. Then they came to a very smokey part of the ship that was blocked off by yellow gates.
“What’s this?” Miss Amy frowned, putting her hands on her hips.
“There’s a hole,” Mandy figeted uncomfortably. “We have to go back.”
“A hole?” Miss Amy didn’t look convinced.
“Yes a hole,” Mandy rolled her eyes. “Are you stupid? There’s a hole in the road so we can’t go that way!”
Miss Amy for some unknown reason ignored both Mandy’s warnings and the several danger signs and went towards the hole in the road.
“What are you doing?” Harry gasped. Maybe Mandy was right, Miss Amy was crazy!
“Oh don’t mind me!” Miss Amy grinned. “Never could resist a ‘keep out’ sign! What’s throught here? What’s so scary about a hole? Something under the road maybe?”
Mandy and Harry shared a worried look, then Mandy looked nervously towards one of those strange animatroic men in the clean glass boxed. Mandy spoke up, “Nobody knows. We’re not supposed to talk about it.”
Miss Amy turned back from her investigating of the strange, circus like tarp that blocked the road, “About what?”
Mandy paused for a moment, like she was trying to find the right word, or maybe she knew the word and she was working up the courage to say it, “Below.”
“And because you’re not supposed to you don’t?” Miss Amy asked with a sly grinn on her face.
“Isn’t that the whole point of rules?” Harry pipped up. “You’re not supposed to so you don’t or you get in trouble?”
Miss Amy seemed a bit taken aback by this addition, “Well my dear Harry sometimes rules are made to be broken.”
“What do you mean?” Harry frowned.
Miss Amy took out a bobbie pin out of her hair and smirked, “Watch and Learn!”
“You’re Scottish,” Mandy frowned like it was a question, but it was really a statement.
“Yes, anything wrong with that?” Miss. Amy called from what ever she was doing.
“No,” Mandy smirked at Harry. Harry shook his head.
“So how’d you two get here?’ Mandy asked.
“Just passing through, with this ones–” Miss Amy turned back around.”--weird uncle thing.”
“He’s not my Uncle,” Harry quietly protested.
“So is he you’re boyfriend Miss Amy?” Mandy asked.
“It’s just… oh huh,” Miss Amy stopped what she was doing.
“What?” Mandy frowned.
“Nothings it’s just, I’m getting married,” Miss Amy seemed a bit space.
“To who?” Harry gasped.
“Oh uh Rory,” Miss Amy blushed.
“Who’s that?” Mandy asked.
“He’s this really nice nurse guy,” Harry explained. “Helped save the planet by stalking people who should be in comas.”
“Huh,” Mandy nodded like this made since. “When are you getting married?”
“I guess a long time ago tomorrow moring,” Miss Amyturned back to what she was doing. “Oh and Harry please don’t meation this to the Doctor?”
“Ok,” Harry nodded.
“Hey, Hey! Results!” Miss Amy beamed. Then she opened the strange circus tent like tarp.
“Wait Miss Amy!” Mandy shouted panicked, but she didn’t dare move. “Don’t go in there!”
“Suit yourselves!” Miss Amy ignored her warnings and slipped into the tent. Harry moved to follow her but Mandy grabbed his arm.
“Please Harry don’t,” Mandy begged.
“I can’t let her get hurt,” Harry protested.
Mandy bit her lip, and was lazer focused on something behind Harry, “I’m sorry then.”
And then the world went dark.
