Chapter Seven, Torture

Previously on Alma Gemela:

"Those are my guns. How did they get my guns?" Toni asked, alarmed.

"Toni, trust me and do as I do!" Yinsen said, panicking, as he tried to get Toni to stop talking as more large men entered, all with weapons pointed right at them; apart from one man, he didn't have a weapon in hand but a rolled-up piece of paper.

"I don't like this." Pepper muttered nervously, her hand gripping tightly to her fiancé's, Happy Hogan.

The man with the paper held both his hands in the air as he started talking in his native language before he stared directly at the doctor beside Toni expecting him to translate.

"He says, "Welcome, Toni Stark, the most famous mass murderer in the history of America." He is honoured."

"Don't!" Bucky warned Steve when he noticed the self-righteous smirk upon his face. "Just don't!"

"I suggest you listen." Brunnhilde advised. "You're on thin ice as it is."

"He wants you to build the missile. The Jericho missile that you demonstrated. This one." Yinsen explained, accepting the paper from the man which was actually a photo of the Jericho missile at the Army base. But Toni didn't even glance at the photo, instead she had a firm but stoic expression on her face while never taking her eyes off of the man before her.

"Toni, please tell me you don't do anything stupid." Carol begged.

"Sorry Carol." Toni whispered vacantly, as she fought against her mind that was trying to force her into a flashback of that terrible three months.

"I refuse!" Toni insisted firmly. Her demeanour is calm as she’s resolute in her decision. "I said, I. Refuse!" She said once more, enunciating each word. It was still in the cave for a moment as if the world were holding its breath until the men surged forward and dragged her roughly out of the cave.

"Why the hell would you do that?" Natasha demanded. "Now they will torture you to break you!"

"Toni?" Loki asked, concerned, holding her as close to himself as he could when he noticed she was struggling.

"I...I thought I could handle watching this, but I can't." Toni whispered brokenly, looking from Loki to her best friends, and then to her kids. It made everyone worried – even those who are not close to her (except Rogers) – as they had never seen her like this before.

"It's alright sweetheart." Howard said reassuringly, offering her a little smile that he hoped wasn't a grimace like it felt as he could barely breathe with how tight his chest felt from his worry. "You do what is best for you and someone will get you when this part is over."

"He's right Tones. Do you want someone with you?" Hope asked worriedly, she didn't really want Toni on her own right now. She's had too much thrust upon her in a short amount of time.

"Harls, Annie, Pete, come with me to the lab?" Toni asked, standing up and holding her hands out to her children. She didn't want them to witness what happened to her.

"Of course Mama." Anamaria agreed for the three of them as she stood and took her mother's hand as she shared a look with her brothers.

"Last one to the lab has to be the test dummy!" Harley declared as he took off running with Peter yelling behind him causing the mother and daughter to laugh which had been the kids' plan.

"Has she ever spoken about what had happened to her?" Sam asked cautiously once Toni had left the room, looking from Loki, to Rhodey, Stephen and Hope, to Pepper and Happy, and even Fury.

"No." Loki said tersely, his whole-body tense as he feared what he would see next that had not only caused this reaction from Toni but also the flashbacks and the nightmares she had endured ever since. She was his heart and soul and to see her suffer like this broke something inside Loki.

Chapter Seven, Torture

The room was tense as the screen started up once again, replaying the last scene played before Toni and the kids left.

"I refuse." Toni spat with vitriol towards them. Immediately extremely dark looks appeared on their faces, and they lunged for her, dragging her out of the cavern with a bag over her head (as if that will stop her from figuring a way out); all the while Yinsen yelled at them to stop. The next thing Toni knew was the bag was ripped off her head and she shoved headfirst into a barrel of water where she thrashed against them – and as the water sloshed over the side and soaked the electromagnet and car battery in her chest, currents of electricity shocked her as what was keeping her alive was now adding to her torture - as her lungs filled with water. A fist yanking her hair made her gasp in pain causing her to swallow more water only to be suddenly yanked back.

“I don’t think I can watch this.” Shuri and Ana muttered tearfully. Shuri turned so her head was in her brother’s chest who promptly wrapped his arms around her to shield her, while Ana, despite being an ex-Widow, hid her head in Jarvis’ chest as it was something completely different altogether when it was your child.

She barely had a second to breathe as they asked her to build the Jericho, but she refused to help them once again, only to be shoved deeper into the water soaking the reactor once again. Pain beyond anything she'd previously experienced shot through her body as she was simultaneously drowned and electrocuted. This happened three more times. On the fourth round of torture, however, she was beginning to lose consciousness when a sort of vision appeared before her eyes. It was of her beautiful babies crying in their uncle Rhodey's arms.

Pepper gasped, a hand covering her mouth as she shared a look with Loki, Hope, Stephen, Rhodey, Nick Fury and her husband Happy.

“What? What was that look?” Scott asked, but no one answered him.

“This is messed up, man.” Sam muttered, horrified, eyes wide. He felt pity for those who had been there at this time in her life. Noticing the lightning coming off of Thor, the glow building around Carol, and green magic building around Loki, he attracted the attention of Wong who was glaring fiercely at the tv screen while looking sick to his stomach and nodded over to the two gods. Getting the picture, Wong brought out his magic and created a magical barrier around the two and around Bruce so should they lose control it should hold and protect everyone. Hopefully. Maybe?

The sight of them and their next words gave her the strength that she needed to get through this, while also breaking her heart.
"Hold on Mama. Pwease." Peter and Anamaria sobbed, begging. So that is what she did. She would hold on long enough to escape with Yinsen. Long enough for Rhodey to find them. Or even for Heimdall to send Loki. And find her they would. They had promised. Promised that They would always find her.

“I’ll always find you, Elskan.” Loki whispered, his green bursting out of him with such a force it tore down the barrier, but fortunately, Loki regained himself just in time to recall his magic that only Thor was thrown as Stephen and Wong used their powers to send the rest of the blast through to another dimension before it could touch anyone. They knew Loki would hate himself if he accidentally hurt their family or friends.

“I’ll always find you, little sister.” Rhodey whispered tearfully, feeling thankful that neither Toni nor the kids were here for this.

{A montage of Toni being pulled from the barrel of water before she was thrown harshly to the rocky ground and was promptly kicked and beaten by several LARGE and MUSCULAR men (Toni would hazard a guess they were taking after Thor’s build) until she was a bloody mess, then she was dragged back across the ground by her hair and her head pushed beneath the water once more until the screen faded out. This repeated for several days, with no food, until the screen faded out with Toni in the same position as before. When it came back on they saw Toni, in a darkened room with the only light source being that of the Full Moon shining in a tiny hole in the ceiling, hanging chained to the ceiling by her hands, arms wrenched back behind her and her toes barely brushing the floor; she looked exhausted and half starved, with her head hanging down towards the floor.}

A lock turning was heard but Toni wouldn’t lift her head, or couldn’t as she was too weak, or a mix of both. The man from before entered the tiny room with a smug smirk on his lips and a dark look in his eyes as he practically undressed Toni with his eyes.

“I don’t like the way he’s looking at Toni.” Maria Hill muttered, glaring at the Tv screen.

“He is definitely planning something, but it seems like Toni is both too weak to lift her head but is also refusing to do so to gain a little control in an uncontrollable situation.” Yelena muttered, her green eyes assessing the situation quickly. Though she too, was worried about the woman who has always fascinated her; it was one of the reasons why she refuses to speak to her sister as she would have loved to be in her sister’s shoes and be Toni’s friend years ago, and her sister turned around and betrayed her.

“Now, dear Toni, are you going to build the Jericho or do I need to pull out worse stops to get you to comply instead of waterboarding, beating, starving and hanging here for days on end?” The man, Raza, asked.

Bucky blanched at the word ‘comply,’ his face going stark white.

“How about? You. Go. To. Hell.” Toni hissed through a clenched jaw, lifting her head defiantly to glare at the man. Her face was now gaunt and covered in various cuts and bruises. One eye was almost swollen shut. But still Toni was defiant, refusing to help in the egotistical, maniacal schemes.

“Are sure?” Raza taunted. “I have a quite few of my men who would love to…let’s say achieve their own pleasure from you, all that’s holding them back is my word. And I have other methods to make you comply with my wishes; it would be such a shame for the greatest mind the world has ever known to break in a cave.” He tutted, shaking his head as if he were disappointed.

“NO!” Howard shouted, staring in horror.

“Shuri I don’t think you should watch anymore. Why don’t you go to the lab.” T’Challa suggested to his little sister.

“Normally I would argue with you my brother, but I don’t want to watch…that…” Shuri muttered. “And I get to live out my dream so…bye bitches!!!” Shuri shouted, running out of the room, following the directions towards the lab that Friday gave her.

“You really expect me to believe that there is any choice at all? Seriously?” Toni scoffed sardonically.

“You’re right of course. There was never any choice for you. Unless you agree.” Raza stated unrepentantly, a dark tone to his voice. It was silent in the cavernous room that you could hear water dripping from further in the cave. Just as he was opening his mouth to call for his men to allow them to have their way with Toni and to do as they pleased; she finally gave in.

“Fine.” Toni whispered lowly, almost ashamed to give in but there was no way she was going to let that happen to her if she could help it.

“No you did the right thing, Annie.” Rhodey sobbed.

“I told you so!” Rogers shouted triumphantly, with the air of a man who has just had his life changed around by the single admittance.

“What is wrong with you?” Clint demanded. “The only option she had open to her was to agree and try to figure a way out or be raped and have any choice taken away from her. Her freewill would’ve been taken from her!”

“Do you not have any empathy in you? Like at all?” Yelena asked, scoffing and shaking her head. “Some great friends you have, Natasha.” She scoffed, glaring at her sister who has been surprisingly quiet, but it wasn’t Yelena’s problem.

“I’ll go get Shuri, tell her it’s safe to come back.” Okoye said as she eased herself fluidly to her feet and left the room with a scoff that sounded vaguely like, ‘Americans.’ Once they both back in the room, it replayed once more.

After Toni had, finally given in, and said yes to the terrorists who had kidnapped her and were torturing her, the next morning she was led (dragged, after being beaten), to a different part of their mountainous hideout where Yinsen was waiting for her with a worried expression especially as both she and the reactor were, yet again, soaking yet; they couldn’t resist another torture session apparently. He barely caught her when she was pushed roughly towards him as they whipped the bag off her head; the sun nearly blinded her.
"Where are we?" Toni whispered to her friend and saviour.
"It's not good." Yinsen replied grimly, slowly leading further outside to a horrifying sight; they had enough of the weapons she had laboured over tirelessly to start a war.

“How the hell did they get all of that?” Sam asked, horrified.

“There was a traitor at Stark Industries.” Nick Fury replied tersely.

“It was that Stane, wasn’t it?” Howard asked, piecing it together quickly. How he acted at his and his wife’s funeral, how Ana and Edwin suddenly died shortly thereafter, his behaviour towards Toni and her children, and everyone’s reactions to him being either mentioned or being on screen were a big give away. But no one answered; however, Fury did give him the tiniest nod that if he hadn’t been looking at the man he would have missed it; and that just made him angrier.

A man, on the shorter and chubbier side, who said his name was Bakaar, and who was at least the second in command, as he had a self-important air about him, asked Yinsen to translate for him.
"He wants to know what you think." Yinsen informed Toni grimly.
"I think they have a lot of unauthorised weapons from my company." Toni muttered sarcastically. Yinsen wisely left out 'unauthorised' as he translated back.

“She is definitely like you with that sass, Howard.” Daniel laughed, trying to lighten the mood.

"He says they have everything you need to build the Jericho missile." Yinsen translated. "He wants you to make a list of materials. He says.. err.. for you to start working immediately, and when you're done, he will set you free."
"No he won't." Toni whispered under breath so only Yinsen heard as she shook the man's hand holding back a shiver at the suggestive looks he and his men were giving her.
"No he won't." Yinsen agreed.

Bakaar beamed at them both. He was too arrogant and ignorant to know that he'd just doomed his entire camp to death. You never gave Toni Stark access to technology; especially not access to weapons. Bakaar glanced with a smug smile into the distance where a man (his leader perhaps) was watching them from the top of a rock, not noticing that Toni had followed his eye-line.
'They're all going to regret this.' Toni vowed to herself.

“When Toni looks like that it makes me nervous.” Scott muttered. “What?” He asked, noticing the incredulous looks he was getting from Hope.

Later on, both Yinsen and Toni (who had just undergone another round of torture 'for good measure') were back in their cell, Toni staring melancholy into the fire.
"I'm sure they're looking for you, Toni." Yinsen tried to reassure her, but he also had to warn her, so she didn't get her hopes up too high (he didn't want to see that broken and defeated look in her eye to build any further). "But they may never find you in these mountains." When she didn't answer Yinsen crouched in front of Toni. "Look, what you just saw, that is your legacy, your father's legacy, Toni. Your life's work in the hands of those murderers. Is that how you want to go out? Is this the last act of defiance of the great Dr Toni Stark? Or are you going to do something about it?"

"Why should I do anything?" Toni interrupted, still staring at the fire with a hopeless tone to her voice, until she turned to Yinsen looking so vulnerable with her hopeless, listless doe eyes that the man became even more protective of her and vowed to himself to carry on encouraging and supporting her.
"They're going to kill me, you...either way. And if they don't, I will probably be dead in a week." There's a lull in conversation until Yinsen grasps her hand offering it a comforting squeeze.

The room froze as if it had suddenly been plunged into sub minus temperature. They had never heard Toni talk like that before: dejected, lifeless, broken.

"Well then," Yinsen studied her as he rose to his feet. "This is a very important week for you, isn't it?" Toni's lips lifted in a wry, faint grin at the joke before her eyes found their way back to the fire, and then, as if a switch had been turned on, the hopelessness melted away and was replaced with pure determination.

A sigh of relief filtered almost simultaneously. They were…relieved to see her looking determined again. Her loved ones would always be eternally indebted to Ho Yinsen for the kindness he’d shown Toni for the duration of their captivity.

The following two weeks were pure chaos. Toni was standing in the middle of her cavern cell ordering the terrorists around to set up a temporary workshop with Yinsen, looking rather amused, as her willing translator. It had to be the best part of her captivity to date.
"If this is going to be my workstation, I want it well-lit. I want these up. I need welding gear. I don't care if it's acetylene or propane." Toni didn't even need to fake her confidence that she practically oozed. She was a genius and knew what she wanted and needed.

While Yinsen struggled to keep up with her rapid-fire instructions.
"I need helmets. I'm gonna need goggles. I would like a smelting cup, and I need two sets of precision tools." Yinsen gave her an incredulous look after her next demand. "And I need tampons; I am a woman after all. What?" She asked once the terrorists left to carry out the instructions. "They tortured me so I'm gonna be petty and make life difficult for them." Yinsen just laughed and shook his head at her.

The room burst out laughing at that. The women, even Natasha who was conflicted over what she’s done, had proud smirks upon their faces.

“I am seriously falling in love.” Brunnhilde fake swooned, smirking at Loki when she noticed him glaring at her.

“She’s my wife!” Loki argued.

“Are you sure?” Yelena asked.

“What?” Thor was confused about why they were asking his brother this.

“Is he sure that he is married to Toni as there has been nothing in the news and there is certainly no ring on her finger.” Yelena clarified.

“Fine. I have a ring and have been planning to ask her, but it was put on hold when she was put into a coma.” Loki grumbled, sending a fierce, dark glare over at Rogers.

Time seemed to fly by rather quickly as Toni worked on tearing the missiles open once everything was where she requested, even several boxes of tampons had been dumped on her cot-like bed.
"How many languages do you speak?" Toni asked absently.
"A lot. But apparently not enough for this place. They speak Arabic, Urdu, Dari, Pashto, Mongolian, Farsi, and Russian." Yinsen replied, placing a tool on the desk beside Toni. He knew now she didn't like being handed things.

"Who are these people?" Toni asked as she pulled out the inner workings of the missile.

"They are your loyal customers."
"They are not my customers." Toni muttered harshly. "I know who everyone in my company has sold to, who has contracts, which is only the Air Force, Military, and Marines. So I can guess whose customers they are; the same person who betrayed me and why I'm here." Toni's hand clenched tightly around the wrench in her hand until Yinsen rested a hand on her shoulder, grounding and calming her as she let out a heavy sigh.

“She suspected who it was even then?” Natasha asked, shocked.

“You don’t give her enough credit.” Pepper interjected snidely. “When you made that unfair report on her she was dying. She didn’t think she would be around to see them grow up so of course she was impulsive in buying them things and taking them wherever they wanted to go. She was trying to instil in them enough memories that the good would outweigh the bad and that they would remember her when they were older as they were so young at the time.”

“Well, apparently, it was a complete and utter waste of my time as Fury is her Godfather!” Nastasha scoffed, crossing her arms.

“It was a test for you.” Fury stated, making the Rogues freeze. “One you failed spectacularly at. It was a test to see if your judgement is clear and you could see beyond the surface level, like you claim you can, beyond the public persona. And apparently none of you can.” He added, glaring at the Rogues.

"They call themselves the Ten Rings." Yinsen replied, squeezing her shoulder once more but this time in apology. He could sense the hurt and anger from her words and the fire in her eyes. "You know, I could be of more help, and we might be more productive if you tell me the planning process." Yinsen asked only to receive a vague hum from Toni; she was too focused on knocking the head off the missile.
"Okay, we don't need this." She tossed a bit of metal over her shoulder, Yinsen gave her an incredulous look before he noticed the tiny strip of metal in her hands.

"What is that?" Yinsen asked.
"That's palladium." Toni held it up grinning. "0.15 grams. We need at the very least 1.6 grams, so could you break down the other eleven please? I'll tell you how." Yinsen didn't look too thrilled by breaking down destructive items he knew next to nothing about; but he did offer his help. So he conceded and followed very one of Toni's instructions meticulously.
A couple of hours later, with all the palladium collected and melted down, Toni couldn't help but be extremely nervous.

“Is she?” Shuri and Wong asked, screeched, excitedly. Practically bouncing in their seats.

“She can’t be.” Bruce argued. “Can she?”

“This is Annie you’re talking about,” Carol stated, “can’t isn’t in her vocabulary.”

"Careful. Careful, we only get one shot at this." She warned.
"Relax, I have steady hands. Why do you think you're still alive?" Toni let out a snort of laughter at Yinsen's morbid sense of humour.
"Oh I love that I've met someone with an equally morbid sense of humour." Toni laughed, Yinsen joining in as his hands were finally free as Toni took over to shape the mould. Continuing working Toni placed the now malleable palladium into the cuboid mould with a pair of tweezers. Once in the mould, she continues to adjust and make changes to it until it is powered up with a bright blue glow.

Toni couldn't stop the large grin from spreading across her lips even if she wanted to. A proud look of a parent adorning her face.

"That doesn't look like a Jericho missile." Yinsen noted, coming over for a closer look.
"That's because it's a miniaturised arc reactor." Toni explained with a prideful lilt to her voice. "I got a big one powering my factory at home." Her voice falters a little, but she steeled herself and continued. "It should keep the shrapnel out of my heart."

“SHE IS!!!! OMG!!!! OMG!!! She is so amazing!!” Wong and Shuri fan-girled.

“Shuri, calm down!” T’Challa ordered.

“You too Wong.” Stephen added, but Wong just ignored his friend.

“That is absolutely brilliant!” Howard muttered in pure amazement. “And with scraps. I hate why she needed it, but to make that and with the little she had…I have no words. I am so proud of her!”

"But what could it generate?" Yinsen asked curiously, his eyes still on the arc reactor on the table. He couldn't help the flicker of pride he felt for the woman before him.
"If my math is right, and it always is, three gigajoules per second."
"That could run your heart for fifty lifetimes." Yinsen muttered, impressed.
"Yeah," Toni stared down at the reactor, the blue light shining on her face and enhancing her beauty. "Or something big for fifteen minutes." As she stood from the table a wave washed over her causing her to stumble, Yinsen catching her, as she suddenly felt faint.

“What’s wrong with her?” Happy asked, concerned.

“It’s the lack of food and water.” Bucky replied quietly. “Not to mention the climate heat, the fire, and then you’ve got the torture on top of that. In other words she needs to get out of there. And soon.”

A thrum of anxiety-filled tension filled the room, and it almost became stifling.

"Toni? Are you alright?" Yinsen asked her in concern.
"Yeah. Yeah, I suddenly just felt faint." Toni murmured.
"Here. Sit down, I'll get you some water and then I'll examine you and replace the battery with the reactor." Yinsen helped her sit back down before he rushed to get her some water.

"We best get a move on then." Toni muttered grimly, not wanting to deal with the situation at hand in case something happened. "This is our ticket out of here." Toni laid the blueprints out, overlapping each other to show the full picture of what she was building.

"Impressive." Yinsen smiled a little.
"Yep." Toni scooped the designs up and threw them in the fire.

"What-?" Yinsen asked in shock.
"I've got them stored here." Toni tapped her temple.

"We can't risk them seeing it." Yinsen conceded, nodding his head. They definitely don't want that.

* * *

If they had to hazard a guess they had been there for either a month and a half or two months, and morale was definitely at an all-time low. Which is why Yinsen insisted they take a break, and taught Toni a game called Black Gamon, a game he used to play with his children.

“She taught that game to us, but especially Ana and Peter when she came home, and now Harley’s been taught how to play it.” Rhodey smiled.

"You still haven't told me where you're from Yinsen." Toni commented. She didn't like quiet; it's why she always blasted her lab with music.
"I'm from a small town called Gulmira." Yinsen explained. "It's actually a nice place."
"Do you have a family?" Toni queried casually.
"Yes. And I will see them when I leave here." Yinsen replied, taking his go.

“I know that town.” Clint exclaimed. “Why do I know it!”

“It’s bugging me too!” Sam commented.

"And you Toni? Do you have a family?" Glancing at her fingers.
"Yes. I have two amazing and adorable children, Anamaria and Peter. Annie is five and Peter will be three this year, and both  are my whole world. They are much kinder and sweeter than I am and so smart. Annie is a Daddy's girl and Peter a Mummy's boy, but they always want me to tell them a story in Spanish or Italian over Daddy." Toni smiled sadly with her eyes shining with tears. She kissed her babies so much. "I have an amazing boyfriend who was one of my best friends in M.I.T along with Colonel James Rhodes or Rhodey as I call him, Dr Stephen Strange, Hope Van Dyne and...and Carol Danvers." Tony took in a faulted breath, looking down at the piece she fiddled with in her hands.

"They didn't care, they were saddled with a thirteen-year-old girl with Daddy issues and became the most important people in the world to me. They were there for me when my parents died, and then through my second parents deaths, they were there through everything. Rhodey even gave me away at my wedding. Both Rhodey and Carol joined the Air Force straight out of M.I.T, but Carol...she was presumed K.I.A nearly two years ago. Just before Peter was born. Then I have my robot babies, Dum-E who tries to put motor oil in any of the adults' drinks, but he never puts it in Peter's or Annie's, Butterfingers, who is really sweet, but she drops everything nearly as much as Dum-E.

U who likes throwing a ball with Annie and Peter, and J.A.R.V.I.S my AI or Just A Rather Very Intelligent System who I named after my father's butler who was like my second father. My god-sister Sharon Carter, my godparents Nick Fury, and Peggy Carter-Sousa and her husband Daniel, and finally my friends/employees Harold 'Happy' Hogan and Pepper Potts-Hogan." Yinsen knew then that Toni didn't hold her self-worth and vowed to show her that before they left this place.

"I'm sure they're doing everything they can to look for you, Toni." Yinsen reassured the twenty-one-year-old woman.
"Rhodey is. My family would be.” She insisted with certainty. “Everyone else would've just given up after a week." Toni countered sadly.
"Tell me about him. Your boyfriend." Yinsen clarified at Toni's confusion.
"His name is Loki Friggasson." Toni informed, a smile appearing on her face.
"The Loki Friggasson?" Yinsen asked almost giddily, causing Toni to giggle. "The famous Prince of Norway?"

"The very same." Toni smiled, lighting up as she talked about her boyfriend and children in a way Yinsen had only seen her do when they were working. It was then that he swore to himself that he would get Toni back home before these people chip any more of her away.

Loki couldn’t help but to smile when he saw the love of his life light up when she spoke about him and their babies. He had always known how much Toni loved them, as he loved her and their babies just the same, but it was heartwarming to see it all the same.

Just before the next scene could play they heard the excited chatter of his children as they raced towards the door.

“Daddy! Uncle Rhodey!” Annie shouted. “Come see what we’ve made with Mama! Please!” She begged, pulling out her puppy dog look.

“We all made new suits!” Peter exclaimed, just as excited as his older sister.

“In Nanotech!” Harley finished off excitedly.

“N-Nanotech?” Bruce asked astounded.

“Yep!” Annie and Peter exclaimed, popping the ‘p.’

“Mum finished hers earlier when she was down there by herself, so she helped us finish ours and…” Harley exclaimed only to be cut off by an excited Peter.

“It’s amazing!!” Peter sing-songed.

“Actually wait here!” Annie insisted. “We’ll go put them on and Mama can show you hers at the same time.”

“Yeah! That’s a good idea!” Peter bobbed his head agreeing with his sister, and as quick as they came the trio were running out of the room, talking rapidly to each other while leaving an astounded room behind.

“I think we need a break after that anyway.” Carol commented. She knew she did after seeing her best friend, her little sister get beaten and tortured.

Barely half an hour later, the four returned all seemed to be in normal clothes until Toni touched her chest and armour crept over her body in tiny particles at first before joining together to create her normal Iron Maiden armour, but this time with a single thought she quickly had her armour shift in her right hand until she was holding a broadsword that was the same red and gold as her suit, and in her left hand a shield formed. Next came Harley, who touched his left wrist, and his Iron Lad armour crept over his body, like his mother before him. And just like before he had a repulsor pointed at Rogers but didn’t fire this time as it was a simple warning.

Stepping forward next was Anamaria. She had silver and gold armour that was shaped like a dress, so it wasn’t a full body armour. But it did have a similar plated bodice with a skirt and leggings made out of black leather with Nanotech covering her knees, leather boots with Nanotech armour covering them, and built-in blasters in the heels of her boots. She had a belt holding the Nanotech as the armour can form over or under the leather, all she has to do is touch the buckle that is a mix of both of her parents’ helmets. Her helmet looked very similar to her mother’s and Harley’s apart from she had her father’s horns on top of her helmet.

She promptly showed that the horns can be removed from the helmet – if held against the forearm it’ll form a shield like Toni’s, and the other can be pointed outwards and turned into a dagger. And finally, was Peter. His suit was his new Iron Spider suit that was in the colours red, black and gold.

“THAT. IS. AMAZING!!!!” Yelena and Shuri practically screamed as she took in the four suits.

“How did you get Nanotech to actually work?” Bruce asked amazed, you could see in his eyes that his mind was going over all the possible scenarios.

“A lot of trial and error, Brucie-Bear.” Toni explained, a proud smile adorning her and her children’s faces.

“Well done, love. Well done munchkins. I am so proud of all of you!” Loki praised, taking them into his arms, first kissing Toni passionately, lovingly, before he pulled each of his children into a firm hug kissing their foreheads. A happy smile on his face as he wrapped his arms around Toni’s waist simply listening to his children talking. He would readily admit how touched he is when he noticed Annie’s suit was a mix of his and Toni’s. Being here with Toni and his children was a soothing balm on his heart and soul. And he would make sure they all survived what’s coming if it were the last thing he did.
