It’s all okay (but it never is)

Chapter 8: Calm down, take a breath

Notes:

Cam is getting a bit better

Chapter Text

Arastoo was holding her when she woke up, “wake up, I don’t wanna cook today.” Arastoo laughed as her hears her “ok eshegham, I’ll cook today.” Cam looks confused for a second “eshegham, I haven’t heard you say that before, what does it mean?” Arastoo kisses her head “it means my love.” Cam smiled a little, she pushed herself out of bed, she left some reports on the kitchen table, and she was going to work on them as he cooked.

Arastoo looked at her “Cam, does vanilla pancakes sound good?” Cam nods absentmindedly, reading over her report, it was a great report, and she hears Arastoo humming a song softly, she recognises it as dust in the wind, one of his favourites, she smiles at that. After a few minutes she feels a kiss pressed to her head, while she was working on her second report from yesterday, and smells vanilla waft from the table, and she hears a little comment from Arastoo “I swear I’m the cook in this relationship.” Cam laughs, often he’d salvage her meals, so it was true, he was the cook.

They approached work, slowly, Cam had had her caffeine and was ready to deal with whatever death throws her way, Arastoo looked at her, she looked at him and mumbled “look at the road.” He laughed and looked back, she smiled softly, how had she thought she forced this man to do anything for her, he loved her, and he was doing all of this willingly, though her doubt about the others stayed. They were halfway there and Arastoo’s car broke down, well it was to be expected with it’s condition, so they waited for someone to get it, and when they did they called Brennan and Booth, who were most likely driving to the scene themselves, so they spent the time in the back of the car, Cam pulled a book from her bag, and Arastoo looked out the window, no doubt that he was looking for something to write about, normally he settled on writing about Cam.

They were curled up after work on their couch, Cam wasn’t aware of when Arastoo’s apartment became theirs, but it was now, she smiled.
