Chapter 7- The first day of the new normal Part 3

Uzi Pov
So Uzi and N were now out of School walking together Down the sidewalk towards the direction of the Cave that Uzi was now explaining to him about its importance to her and the reason why she and Him were going to investigate it today.
”So the short story on why I think that the cave seems very mysterious to me is because ever since me and my Mom went by it one time when I was young and I thought this place was haunted. Over the years I have investigated this place to prove this theory but with no proof whatsoever.” Uzi explains to N as they continue to walk.
“So we’re going to go into this cave and see if there is any supernatural activity in it?” N says back to Uzi now, understanding the plan a bit more now.
”Exactly. And this time nothing is going to stop me from going deeper into this cave.” She tells him.
So Uzi and N continue their quest towards the cave until they reach a dirt path in which Uzi takes N following behind her until she stopped in front of the cave’s opening with Uzi smiling to herself until N showed up right next to her.
”So this is the place?” N asks her.
”Yep. This is it.” Uzi says right back to him. “And today its mystery will be solved.”
So Uzi and N began their journey towards the cave and then into it. Once inside the cave Uzi then took out her phone so she could have a bit of light with N also looking around the cave along with her.
”So what are we exactly looking for in this Cave?” N asks Uzi while looking around at the Rocks and stalactites.
”Something that could possibly be out of ordinary.” She tells him while now putting away her phone after knowing the layout of the road ahead of her. “It could be an Eldritch horror beyond all comprehension of my Dad’s cooking.”
“Haven’t seen either of those so I don’t have an idea what does it looks like.”
So Uzi and N continued deeper into the cave to see If there was any supernatural activity here and the further they adventured into the cave it seemed less and less likely the more they continued on to the dismay of Uzi.
“This isn’t possible is it?” Uzi then says out loud. “There has to be something here right? I didn’t imagine this?”
”Maybe the supernatural occurrences you thought of have disappeared for the fall.” N then tells her.
”But there’s no way that this Cave has nothing.” She then blurts out.
But then she says that both her and N then heard a slithering sound from behind them which surprised Uzi when she saw that it was a snake on the cave floor towards them with N slightly shaking a bit while Uzi just folded her hands.
“Snakes. Of course it’s snakes.” Uzi says in disappointment at this discovery. “Unless this thing transforms into hydra I’m not interested.”
“Uzi. I have something to confess to you.” N then asks her quietly.
“What?” She responds back to Him.
”I have a fear of snakes.”
“N! You’re just now telling me this?” She quietly yells at him.
”Sorry. But It was an incident that happened decades ago involving an ice cream,poisonous venom and cactuses. I kinda now have trauma from them.” N explains to her with Uzi looking at him.
“Well what do you expect us to do now?” She asks Him.
”I think we should both back up and head out of the Cave and hope that it doesn’t happen to follow us.” N tells Uzi.
”Would that even work?”
“I don’t know. But it’s the best bet we have.”
”Ok.” Uzi says to him while starting to step back away from the snake. “Let’s try that.”
So Uzi and N continued to walk backwards away from the snake with N still slightly shaking nervously while Uzi was looking at the snake heading towards them slowly until she saw a bit of the light from the outside and then a few more minutes later She and N were now back outside of the cave.
”All right N. We’re out.” Uzi then says to N now with both of them now in the cloudy skies of the outside world.
”Phew. I was worried that something bad would have happened to either of us. Glad we made it out of there.” N then says to himself relieved that the crisis was averted with the snake. “I’m sorry that I didn't tell you that I was afraid of snakes before we went into the cave.”
”It’s ok. I didn’t expect to learn everything about you on the first day we were a team.” Uzi lets him know. “Also I did want to know more about you and I guess learning that you are afraid of snakes is a start.”
“I guess you’re Right Uzi. Better to be honest to your friends than not.”
Then it was silent between them until Uzi suddenly realized something off about this whole event now that it’s being brought to her attention.
”Wait a minute? Why was there a snake in a cave?”
”Well some snakes are subterranean and like the colder environments.” N then explains to her.
”How do you know that if you…Never Mind.” Uzi starts to say to N until abandoning that thought. “The point is that I don’t think that the snake being there was normal.”
“So… what is to say that the snake was actually supernatural?” N asks her, wondering what her conclusion is.
”That or the cave is more supernatural then I thought even possible and has the power to make your fears come to fruition.” She then says in an excited tone.
“Is that even possible?” N asks her.
”I don’t know. But what I do know is that this town is hiding more than I thought possible if this theory is true.” Uzi tells him.
“So what do we do now?” N once again asks Uzi.
”Well since it’s almost 4:00 so I better be heading home before Dad gets back from work and you should be heading back to your house/Base as well.”
“Right! I wanted to talk to V when I got back home about how her day went.” He then remembers that from when they were leaving from School. “So I will see you tomorrow?”
”Yeah. We have school tomorrow. It’s Tuesday.” Uzi tells him in a bored voice.
“Man. I don’t remember School lasting this long the last time me and V were in one.” N says in a bewildered manner.
“Welcome to High School N. Where Time moves even slower than it should at some points.“
