Wade looked sheepishly at Agent Stone as the soldiers outside took aim at Ivo Robotnik, floating out the front door.
"So... Doctor, huh?" Stone looked down in embarrassment. "I mean, I thought I was just that good, but..." he trailed off. Stone took a deep breath and walked over to Wade, handcuffed in the chair.
"Yes. His name is Doctor Ivo Robotnik and I... I..." Stone's words seem to fail him. "He's... my everything. I'm sorry... Wade." As Stone turned away to watch the doctor banter with the sheriff outside, Wade stopped him.
"Just... was it me?" He asked uncertainly."I really liked you. I though maybe we... could, I dunno..." Wade shrugged his shoulders, innocence rolling off him in waves. "Does he make you happy?"
Agent Stone thought for a brief second, as if waging a silent war with himself before looking Wade in the eyes.
"You're a good man, Wade Whipple. You deserve better. But I... I'm not." Before another word could be spoken Stone ran outside as the wind began collecting metal from across town. When he saw Robotnik flying away Stone shouted after him.
"DOCTOR!" He cried out "TAKE ME WITH YOU!" His plea was answered by green electricity wrapping around his ankle and wrist, pulling him off the ground and after his doctor. It scared Stone, both the sudden height and the power that made it happen, but if it meant staying by Robotnik's side, Stone wouldn't complain.
It was where he belonged.
