Chapter Text
“Okay, dumpling, what would we like to make for dinner for Papa and Daddy tonight?” Henry asked their four-month-old daughter, who was making the most adorable noises as she bounced happily in the doorway jumper her Tia June had gotten her on the three month anniversary of her birth. (Henry and Alex, of course, had told June she didn’t need to get anything, that being her aunt and coming over for lunch to celebrate was enough, but determined to spoil her niece, she had completely ignored them.)
All Andi did in response was giggle, smiling brightly at him. Looking down at her, Henry still couldn’t quite believe she was theirs.
“I think we should make spaghetti and meatballs too. Let’s see, we’ll need…”
Later, as the three of them sat down to dinner, Andi in her high chair (situated, of course, at the head of the table with her papa and daddy on either side), Henry marveled, once again, at the fact that this life was his.
He wouldn’t trade any of it for the world.
