Chapter 45: Together

Summary:

“Awesome! Let's try creating some acid! I don't really know how to describe changing the solubility. It sorta just starts happening when I think about it, so just try that and stop when it starts to hurt.” Keeping a hold of the quirk is tricky, it's slippery. But he has some practice using quirks like this, the kind of quirk that wants to slip from his grasp. He can only compare it to Blood Control, that quirk seeped from his hold as well.

Actually using the quirk turns out to be trickier than he thought it would be. How he managed it at the Sports Festival he doesn't know. Then again he doesn't really know how he managed any of what he did when fighting Todoroki. The quirk rests within him, contained by his quirk, but as he tries to let just a little of the quirk trickle outward to produce acid it slams against the opening, widening it. Highly acidic fluid escapes him, falling to the ground and eating away at it, but that's not all it eats away, he slams shut the opening as his flesh burns. He's left to stare as the acid eats his skin.

Chapter Text

“What is wrong with people!?” His classmates simply laugh at his plight.

“What did you expect to happen when you posted something like that!?” Mina says through laughter.

“It was just me working out!!” He speaks in distress. He was able to take a few pictures before and during his workout, but had been struggling to take a video, thankfully another student had offered to help. But now…

“Some of these people are definitely adults!” People were, as Mina put it, ‘thirsting’ after his posts.

“It is certainly inappropriate!” At least Iida's on his side.

“You gotta be careful about what you post, Midoriya-chan, kero. People can be gross.” His head thunks on his desk as he lets out a groan. His phone is grabbed out of his hand. He raises his head in confusion, seeing Todoroki looking at his phone.

“...Hm, but it's just pictures of you working out?”

“That's what I thought! But people are apparently just sick in the head!” He grabs his phone back in frustration, looking at the seemingly innocent post. At least it's innocent in his eyes. He guesses he's kinda scantily clad, but that's just because he'd get too hot otherwise. And sure he's wearing the shorts Midnight-sensei bought him. The shorts with the express purpose of making him sexy… But he's covered in sweat in some of these, who'd like that?!

“Good morni- Oh! What's with the face?” Uraraka calls as she enters the room.

“Midori's got people thirsting after his pictures and video of him working out.” Hagakure explains.

“I just don't get it! I'm super plain! And sure I've got a bit of muscle, but lots of heroes are muscular!” Izuku says in exasperation, pout resting on his lips.

“And people thirst after them as well. And besides, just because you're plain doesn't mean you're not good-looking. I think you're pretty cute.” Mina explains, causing him to bury his head in his arms.

“And totally handsome! So manly!” Kirishima adds, making Izuku bury his fingers in his hair and pull at it.

“And you are pretty admirable.” Todoroki says casually. Izuku groans in embarrassment.

“Your kindness pulls people in.” Uraraka joins in. At this point he's gonna faint from how much blood is rushing to his face.

“Alright, alright!! I get it… I guess. I still think this is all… a bit much.” He grabs his phone again, grimacing at the post.

“You just gotta accept it, nerd, people like you. If not for your body, then for your personality.” Kacchan states dryly.

“I just… I can't help but feel like this is all to do with being a prime omega. And that… It makes me feel dirty. Like I didn't actually earn people's admiration.” The whole prime omega thing is a lie, and while he knows he can't just tell people that it's all because people live inside him, he feels awful for deceiving them. Especially his classmates.

“...Well, I don't know about all those people, but I do know I like Deku-kun because of how nice you are.” His classmates state their agreement with her statement.

“Yeah! I like you because of your strength! And not just your physical, your mental as well!” Kirishima enthuses.

“We definitely like you cus of who you are, Midori! You're just too sweet not to like!” Tears well in his eyes, he quickly wipes them away with the sleeve of his uniform.

“Thanks!” He offers them a smile, eyes squeezing shut with the force of it.

“Everyone to your seats, please!! Class is about to begin!” Those standing head to their desks, making it in time for the bell.

The rest of the day goes as normal, and it isn't long until they have heroics. The time is spent training their quirks, it gives Izuku the perfect chance to work on training his classmates' quirks.

“Uh, hey Mina, I figure you're a good place to start with quirk training… If you're up for hel-” He speaks awkwardly, startling when the girl gets in his face.

“Of course I'm up for helping!” She grabs his hands excitedly, dragging him to the area she was working in.

“Right! The most important thing to work on is solubility. That way you don't end up hurting someone! You can change solubility by feel, the more tingly and/or painful you feel, the more soluble your acid gets.”

“When I first started using my quirk it used to burn a lot, but eventually my skin built up some resistance. If I use too much of my acid it'll burn through my resistance.” He activates the quirk, watching his skin turn pink.

“Oh my gosh, you look so cute with pink skin! But you didn't get my horns?”

“Yeah, my body only changes if it's necessary. So apparently your pink skin is necessary for your quirk to work, but not your horns.”

“Ah! Water! Water!! We need water!!” Mina panics at the sight, and admittedly he does as well, before his mind reminds him he has water. He uses Hydroburst with his other hand, grabbing it with Water Control, he drenches his hand, washing away the acid, but the evidence of its existence remains. He feels his quirks disappear.

“What's going on!?”

“He used my quirk and it burned him!! His hand, oh god! His hand!” Mina is pretty much hyperventilating, he feels like he should be as well. The acid immediately sealed the wounds, meaning Super Regeneration won't work, he's permanently disfigured, but he just doesn't feel it yet. Probably shock.

“Alright, come on, we'll take this to Recovery Girl.” Izuku feels his quirk return as he drops his quirk now that he knows the damage has stopped. And Izuku knows what to do, he brings his other arm closer, and a blade escapes his other arm, chopping his hand off at the wrist. His disfigured hand falls to the ground with a thump, which is quickly followed by a louder and harder thump as Mina faints. Oops. He probably shouldn't have done that in front of his friend.

“What the hell!! Why'd you do that?!” Aizawa-sensei grabs his arm with the stump, but it's not a stump for long, already regrowing a new hand. He flexes his new hand, the damage is gone, even the damage from the USJ. Aizawa-sensei stares incredulously at his new hand.

“...That- That… Was extremely reckless!! Did you even know if your regeneration quirk could do that?! What if it hadn't worked!?” Izuku stares at him with wide unseeing eyes, he barely registers what's in front of him.

“It- My- My fingers, uh, the USJ- they regrew.” He looks at his regrown hand, letting a breath he didn't know he was holding escape him, the beating of his heart finally reaching his ears.

“Well you should've checked with Recovery Girl before doing that!” Aizawa-sensei takes to checking over his new hand, clearly coming down from his own fear. Remorse hits him, it must've been frightening to witness. He looks around himself, seeing his classmates in varying states of shock. Some fainted like Mina, others got sick, those that were better off have gone to help the others. He pulls his hand from Aizawa-sensei's grip, approaching where Yaoyorozu is helping Mina get up.

“Hey, are you alright?” Mina seems to just be getting her bearings. She turns to him in shock.

“I should be asking you that!!” She moves to get up with the help of Yaoyorozu, but something catches her attention right next to Izuku. Her face pales and he follows her eyes direction, finding his disfigured hand. He jumps up from his crouched position, racing to his hand, grabbing it and disintegrating it.

“Sorry about that! It must've been frightening! And I definitely should've warned you before I chopped it off, my body just acted before I could think.” His head throbs as the vestige’s anger and fear reaches him. Their scolding words ring out inside his head.

“I don't know why that happened! This didn't happen when I first used my quirk! I burned myself, sure, but nothing that serious!” She waves her arms in distress, tearing up.

“Ah, your quirk has grown quite a lot since then. The version I copied has been built up by training. When I copy a quirk I only take a small portion of your quirk, but my quirk uses itself to build up that portion into an exact copy of your quirk, including all that built up power.” Quirks grow over time as you age, but training it makes it grow faster.

“Oh, what does that mean for if I continue training my quirk, would yours grow as well?” She rubs her eyes, turning to Yaoyorozu and thanking her. Yaoyorozu stands to the side, looking at Izuku in concern.

“No, I'm stuck with the version I have, but it can be built up to your level if I train with it.” Of course that requires more of his quirks energy, so he has to be careful how much he trains a quirk. But it has never really been an issue, even when he was copying and learning the teacher's quirks he never used up too much of his quirks mass when training. The majority of his loss comes from the initial copy.

“Speaking of, I'd tell you to go see Recovery Girl, but I know you'd protest and since I don't see anything wrong with your new hand, I'll let you continue training, but you'll have to visit her by the end of the day, okay? And no more training her quirk today. She should probably see Recovery Girl for that fall anyway.” Izuku nods before remembering he can actually help her.

“I can help with that!” He grabs her hand, bringing it up to plant a kiss on the back of her hand.

“Um, I think I might need that as well…” He turns to see Uraraka holding her forehead. He sees even more of his classmates holding their heads behind her.

“Right! Just come here if you hurt yourself! I can heal you.” He grabs her hand, pressing a kiss to it. Moving on to Aoyama.

“Ya know, I didn't hurt myself, but I sure could use a kiss as compensation for the emotional damage…” He hears rather than sees Kaminari be smacked.

“Everyone else back to work!” Aizawa-sensei calls out, receiving subdued answers in return. “And you, what quirk do you want to do next?”

“Uh, I was thinking Dupli-arms or Frog… ?” Izuku answers, finishing healing his classmates.

“Okay, either works. But I'll be keeping a close eye on you.” He goes back to wandering and helping the other students. He's having to work on his own today since Yagi-san is taking part in the press conference UA is holding.

It could already be done, but he hasn't received any sort of notification about it. He had turned off notifications from Herohub after the Sports Festival, but since he started receiving notifications from his Quirky account he figured it was about time to turn them back on. Which means his phone was pretty much swamped in notification, so he had to go through and curate what would send a notification.

He heads over to Tsu. “Hi, uh, I don't mean to bother you, but would you be willing to help me train your quirk?”

“Sure. We've already done training with jumping and sticking to the wall, so we'll move onto the most complicated part, my tongue.” He nods, activating her quirk. Tsu's quirk is slippery like Mina's, but sticky as well. The moment he touches it it sticks to him, making it easier to use. At the same time, when it comes time to turn off the quirk it'll be hard to let it go. From the previous times he's used it he knows that activating another quirk usually helps dislodge it.

The tongue peeks out from his lips. “It's easier if you think of the tongue as another limb.”

“The best place to start is with launching it out at a target, kero.” She turns toward the target dummies she was practicing on.

“Remember that the tongue is a muscle, you just have to flex it, so stick your tongue out and then flex it. Just imagine you're launching it forward.” He follows her instructions, making his tongue launch forward. It completely misses the target.

“Good. Keep at it.” They stay doing that for a while, until Izuku actually hits the target. And while he'd love to work at wrapping his tongue around things, he wants to get in more practice with other quirks. So they part ways, promising to work together again. He debates heading to Shouji to get more practice with his quirk, but he'd like to get to training with quirks he hasn't yet. And besides, Shouji usually trains after school, so they can work together then. So he moves on to Jirou.

“Uh, Jirou? Could you help me train?” The girl pulls her earphone jack out of the wall, turning to face him.

“Hm, I suppose I've got time to spare.” She motions him over. He activates her quirk in preparation, wincing at the influx of noise. While Mina and Tsu's quirks were slippery, Jirou's quirk is like static. Its edges bleed into nothingness. Gathering it to hold feels like grasping at air, the quirk having almost no weight to it. It lets off a faint buzzing sound, and it vibrates with the frequency.

“Right, the basics of my quirk are that you can plug them into any surface, allowing me to not only hear further distances, but through thick walls as well. And I can send out vibrations through my jacks from the sound of my own heartbeat, dealing internal damage to objects.”

“They can extend up to six meters, and detect sound in a twelve meter radius. They can be used like whips, and can carry small objects. I have speakers built into my shoes in order to let off blasts of sound, but I don't know how helpful that feature will be to you unless you're willing to add speakers to your support gear.”

“Mm, I'm not too sure about that, I just updated my equipment. And I don't know if they'd be able to fit some in my equipment.” He turns to her and offers her a smile. “Maybe that just means I'll have to work with you more.”

He speaks in a teasing, jovial tone. He doesn't know how to take her response as she turns away with a red face. “Oh! Or I can learn to make speakers with Creation!”

“Uh, yeah, that. Well, we'll work on hearing for now, because we don't want you to get overwhelmed. Stick your jacks into the wall.” He attempts to follow her instruction, but when he attempts to move his jacks he encounters a problem- he doesn't know how to move them. They're a whole new extra limb, but he has dealt with new limbs before, like Ojiro's tail.

He stands there attempting to move them for a while, he leans in different directions as he tries to get used to moving them. Actually extending them proves to be even harder. “Oh, uh, I don't really know how to help you with this… I've always had my jacks, so I've never had to learn to use them. I've always just… known how to move them.”

“Ah, that's fine! Just, uh, give me a moment, I'm sure I'll get it!” Maybe they're like Tsu's tongue… Actually, isn't that the entire problem? When Jirou uses her jacks it's by muscle memory, and he just doesn't have that muscle memory. But he also didn't have the muscle memory for Tsu's tongue, or Ojiro's tail and he managed to learn to use them. He can manage this.

His earphone jacks clumsily shoot toward the wall, sticking into it, but they pull him with them. He barely gets his hand out to keep himself from cracking his head open on the wall. But quickly doubles over, slamming his hands to his ears to somehow block the influx of noise. In his panic he drops his hold on the quirk, breathing a breath of relief as his hearing returns to normal.

“-doriya! Midoriya! Can you hear me?! Are you okay!?” Jirou's panicked voice finds his ears.

“Yeah. Yeah, I'm okay… Just give me a moment. I wasn't prepared. I'll try again in a second.”

“...Okay, dude. Just- take your time, okay?” Izuku nods, taking deep breaths. The sound of approaching footsteps causes the both of them to look up.

“Everything going good over here?” Aizawa-sensei asks with a raised eyebrow.

“Hah, yeah, just got overwhelmed for a sec.” Izuku admits sheepishly. Aizawa-sensei hums in response.

“Alright. I'll choose to believe you. But just remember, I can't keep my eyes on you 24/7, I've got all the other students to look after, so don't go doing anything reckless.” Guilt fills Izuku, he really doesn't mean to make people worry. He wishes he were better. That he wouldn't keep messing up and making people upset. He literally cut his hand off in front of everybody, what kind of person does that?

“Right. I think I'm ready.” He stands up, activating her quirk again. He focuses on maneuvering one of his jacks slowly. Finally stabbing it into the wall. He holds firm against the rush of noise, the sound of all their classmates training. But an explosion causes him to yank the jack out.

“Bakugou's always a problem, you've just got to focus on one noise and block the rest out. Try it.” Jirou instructs, stabbing her own jack into the wall. He takes a deep breath, reinserting his jack into the wall. He immediately focuses on one noise, the sound of Iida's engines. Another explosion rings out, and even though he hears it, it's fainter than before. They spend a while shifting their focus around.

“Okay, now onto sending your heartbeat's vibration through an object.” She walks over to the pile of large rocks she had been working with when he had arrived. She stabs her earphone jack into a rock, it shudders and then splits into pieces. “Just focus on wanting to send your heartbeat through your jack.”

He follows her instructions, pulling on his knowledge from using previous quirks. He'd describe Earphone Jack as a mix between Voice and Universal Adapter.

Voice simply because it involves sound, though it differs by fact that it's constantly active. And Universal Adapter because it involves plugging into something. When he used Universal Adapter he had to train at taking and giving data from devices, so as he uses Earphone Jack he focuses on how it felt to give data, hoping that his method translates to Earphone Jack well.

He focuses on his heartbeat, and channeling it through his jacks. He knows it works when the rock breaks apart. “Great! Just keep doing that.”

He spends a while training with her, finally moving on to Sero after a while. They've only got about fifteen minutes left until class ends, so he figures he needs to stick with something easier.

“Help you? Yeah. I guess I'm available to help. Don't know if I'll be any good at teaching you though.”

“That's fine. Just focus on telling me what you do, ya know? How you learned how to use your quirk.”

“Okay, well, I first used my quirk when I wanted to grab something farther away. And since then I've trained it by focusing on wanting to reach somewhere far, while also focusing on pushing outwards with my elbow.” He demonstrates his quirk, and Izuku focuses on how he flexes his muscles. Izuku activates his quirk, taking to it quickly as it sticks to him. It's by far the firmest of the quirks he has used today, which Izuku appreciates, something easy to keep a hold on.

Izuku focuses on wanting to send the tape out, and flexes his arm muscles in a pushing motion. A stream on tape escapes him, not hitting anything in particular. “Great job man. Now onto wrapping around something.”

“It's all about motion, once you have a stream of tape going you need to quickly pull back your arm. The motion will flick the end of the tape, curling the end. It'll probably take a while before you can do it consistently.” He's right, it takes several minutes more before he's able to wrap around something. And he's not able to consistently wrap around objects by the end of class.

Once class has ended the day finishes quickly. As they're packing up for the day people begin to check their phones, seeing the coverage of the press conference they held. Mina pulls it up on her phone and they gather around to watch it.

“I'm sure you're wondering why we called you here today.” On the screen it shows Nedzu-sensei standing in front of a podium covered in microphones. It's clear he's been put on something to boost his height.

“Well, as I'm sure you're aware, one of our students has been quite popular as of late. We're here to show our support for his statements.” Clamouring sounds come from the gathered reporters.

“We wholeheartedly believe Midoriya Izuku's claims, and we're grateful for the chance to support such a promising young man, with such an extraordinary dream. And now we seek to support any other male omegas and their families.” Izuku's hope is to get every male omega removed from the hero commission's clutches, then to get the kids they stole removed. Even if they're an adult, and are a hero, they're likely still under the commission's thumb.

“In the past we've encountered issues with the commission ourselves, and for the safety of our students we've had to capitulate. But no more. No longer will we hold our tongue against injustice against targeted individuals.” Izuku's bumped into from behind, he turns to see Uraraka looking sheepish. He kneels down so she can see, he activates Float to take pressure off his knees.

“In the weeks following Midoriya-kun's statement you've heard many people speaking out about their own experiences with the commission. And we've reached out to these people to offer any support they may need, such as legal representation.” Izuku's still surprised that these victims were freely able to talk about their experiences, that the papers they signed didn't restrict them from speaking out about it. Izuku supposes they probably just figured that these people would be too afraid to speak about their experiences. Especially since the omega and their family were closely monitored, and likely threatened.

“Our doors are open to those suffering injustice of any kind, we're in a privileged enough position to be able to help those in need. Whether you are connected to any injustice the hero commission brought upon you, or if you're simply someone who has suffered injustice by society.” Izuku's glad to hear that Nedzu has taken his words into consideration. Nedzu has made the students of UA his priority, running a school doesn't leave much free time for public service. But Izuku argued that he had plenty of money to pay people to do it, he just doesn't like not overseeing any project.

Izuku's known him long enough to tell that the principal has control issues. He feels like he needs to oversee everything, and feels paranoid whenever something is out of his sight. He rarely delegates work to anyone, and even though he has trusted the teachers to do work for him, he holds conferences to hear about what they've been doing, and he has to sign off on any major decisions.

“I hope that by speaking out now we'll not only bring hope to any person suffering, but incentivize those also in powerful positions to speak up for those in need.” Izuku knows that any high-standing individual that owed Nedzu a favour will be speaking out for their cause soon.

“While all those at UA seek justice for the downtrodden, there is one here today who would like your attention. Our Symbol of Peace, All Might.” Nedzu hops down from his position in front of the podium, leaving room for All Might to shuffle into the place he had left, pushing what Nedzu-sensei had been standing on off to the side. A fervour breaks out in the crowd, though it's silenced when All Might takes the stand.

“As the Symbol of Peace I have always fought against injustice, but fighting injustice goes further than just fists. There is societal injustice that I've strived to fight against, and while I've seen notable improvements from when I was young, that doesn't mean injustice doesn't still exist.” Yagi-san had talked to him about what life was like before, but it always felt like pulling teeth. Like he couldn't stand to talk about before, and from what Izuku knows about the past, it may just be because things were truly that awful. He knows the statistics from before All Might's debut, but knowing is different from hearing about it from someone who was actually there.

“Though on the surface it may seem better, I know that in the underbelly injustice has prevailed. Discrimination against hetero-morph quirked individuals has improved, but just because it has improved doesn't mean it can't be better. Schools and Jobs can still deny people with hetero-morphic quirks, simply on the basis of their quirk.” From the corner of his eye he can see one of Shouji's tentacles transform into an eye and make its way closer. The words make Izuku wonder about the boy, about Tokoyami and Koda, and even Mina to an extent.

He wonders why the boy wears a mask, he knows the boy is insecure, he sees it in the way he holds himself. He's such a large boy, but he always tries to make himself smaller. And he always seems so resigned when someone mentions how scary he appears, even when it's in jest. He seems to think that thanks to his appearance he'll never be good with civilians.

“People with ‘villainous’ quirks are demeaned and ostracized. Taught that their quirk is unsightly, that they should be ashamed, and that they should hide this part of themselves.” He thinks of Shinsou. About how abrasive the boy was in their first couple meetings, always on the defense, waiting for the shoe to drop. He puts on such a front, all to protect himself from the world.

“And a new form of discrimination has risen in the modern era, discrimination against the quirkless. What used to be the majority is now the minority, and the new majority has seen fit to degrade that minority. Treating them deplorably, treating them as lesser, even though they've existed for far longer than quirked individuals. They achieved incredible feats all without use of a quirk.” He's had talks with Yagi about quirkless people, it's actually what caused their first disagreement. Yagi-san seemed to think that a quirkless person couldn't be a hero. Which Izuku thinks is stupid, look at Sir Nighteye! In the end he was never able to convince Yagi-san, simply stomping away to his room. Only coming out when his mom called him out for dinner, eating in a tense silence until his mother intervened and made them make up.

“Even with omegas rights prevailing, they're still viewed as weak, and lesser. They're often turned down by more labour intensive jobs, even in heroics, only being seen as good enough to be a rescue hero, not combat.” Izuku just doesn't get the whole, ‘weaker’ narrative, it's obviously not true. They literally have to grow a baby in their body, and carry that weight around. And then they have to wreck their body by pushing it out. And even once the baby is born they still have to lug around their child.

“They are viewed as a prize, especially male omegas. People demand they give up their lives and livelihood in order to raise children they may not even want. They act as if omegas have no other choice than to have children, not even allowed a career.” Presenting offered him a new perspective to see the world from. Things that he had previously written off were put into perspective. He always hears reporters commenting on a female hero's, especially if they're an omega, ‘biological clock.’ Talking about when they'll settle down and start a family. They especially love talking about Mirko's ‘biological clock.’ And now, after meeting the woman, he can safely say- she should never have children.

“There are no laws against discrimination in Japan. Allowing it to fester in the underbelly. It forces people with hetero-morphic quirks, ‘villainous’ quirks, even those that are quirkless, or are an omega toward villainy. Experiencing more acceptance from villains than they ever got from society.” It's not hard to imagine, it makes sense they'd extend a hand to those that experienced the same treatment they did.

“They seek an outlet for all their pain, seeing fit to take that pain out on others. It becomes a vicious cycle of hurt people hurting others, who in turn will hurt others just like that person. The only way to break that cycle is to reach out toward those who experience discrimination, to show them that there is kindness in the world.” While Izuku hopes to be a helping hand, to be a ray of hope, in these people's lives, he realizes he doesn't currently have that power. But All Might does, so he hopes that his words will reach the ears of those in need.

“We turn a blind eye to discrimination, because it's unsightly, because it's seemingly not our problem. But that kind of thinking is exactly why it has festered. We need to take action against discrimination, and hold ourselves accountable for how our actions may have driven others toward villainy. We need to change ourselves in order to make sure that no one is pushed to villainy again.” And maybe his words will reach those causing harm. He doubts it though, society seems incapable of taking accountability.

“We need to stop denying others jobs or scholarships, stop calling them awful things, stop beating them down, stop teaching them that they should be ashamed of themselves, that they should strive to change themselves for our sensitivities, and stop demeaning and talking down to them because of their quirk-status, whether it be because they're hetero-morphs, have seemingly ‘villainous’ quirks, or are in fact quirkless, or because of their gender, secondary or otherwise, because of their sexuality, because of their race, or because of any factors outside of their control. And here and now we need to stop the mistreatment of male omegas by the hero commission.” Hopefully these words help someone out there. Izuku knows that if he had heard these words years ago they would've meant the world to him.

“When Midoriya Izuku came to us and told us what the hero commission was doing, I didn't want to believe it. I wanted to believe that an organization like them wouldn't do something so cruel. Moreover I didn't want to believe it because that would mean it had been taking place right under my nose.” No matter how many times he tells Yagi-san that he doesn't blame him for not knowing, he still feels like he should've known so he could do something. But what's done is done, there's no use staying on what could've been, only on what could be.

“But no longer. I stand here today in support of my student. In support of those abused by the hero commission. We need to right this wrong that we've allowed to happen right under our noses.”

“I hope you'll stand with us in support of these male omegas and their families. I hope that other heroes will see this as incentive to stand with us in support. Thank you for your time.” He takes a step away from the podium, bowing to the crowd. He moves what Nedzu was standing on back in front of the podium, giving the mammal a boost up, but the video ends as he retakes the stand, likely to answer questions. He changes and heads to Gym Alpha, working out and asking other first-year heroics students to join him in training their quirks. He needs to prepare for the finals, whatever they may be.

Now he just needs to get through that study with Recovery Girl so that he can really focus on finals. Of course with the conference today things will begin kicking off, which he wants! He wants some change to come, but a small part of him can't help but hope things will settle down. Eh, after everything he's had to put up with, he's sure he'll be fine.
