This one's been knocking around my google drive for a while and where I am right now it is legitimately too hot to go outside (I'm British alright, we were not built for summer) so I figured I'd try and get this finished instead. I'm mostly there so hopefully I'll be able to update regularly too. It's been a little longer than I would've liked since I last posted but it's hard to find time to write when I'm not home alone so I'll take what time I can get.This is your forewarning now, this is whumpy and Jake is not very nice to himself throughout. In fairness in the beginning nor is anyone else. If I've learnt anything recently it's that big medical stress within a family makes a lot of people say and do things they usually wouldn't and in Jake's case majorly heightens some underlying anxiety. Please mind the tags, there is nothing explicit in the sense of suicidal thoughts but it does underly a few sections so it felt inappropriate to leave out. Some of the panic attack stuff might be interpreted as being quite graphic (I can't account for everyone's tolerance level so read at your own risk), same for vomiting. It's definitely a lot darker than the other fics within this series but also much closer to what I would usually write.
