Summary
What if Trip had been in a long-term relationship at the time he fell for T'Pol? What if he wasn't honest about it to anyone, especially not himself or his lover? In his anger and grief, Trip's actions wreck what he and Malcolm had so carefully built with each other. Some mistakes can't be undone. Some things can't be rebuilt.
All those words of aching apology, echoing in his head and left forever unsaid.
Or: The five times Trip nearly caught up with Malcolm to talk to him in the aftermath of those days, and the one time he never will. (Plus a bonus epilogue because even I can't leave my baby Trip with such a terribly sad ending.)
