Pater Omnipotens

Summary:

Following the introduction of The Father, Remnant goes through a few changes. Nothing too big but changes all the same.
Follow-Up to Jaune's Shampoo: Andromeda Gaia

Notes:

Ask: Is Cinder gonna try to copy Jaune after hearing Bora's explanation in Andromeda Gaia?

How is Pyrrha deal with the fact her crush turned into a God and now she can't date him?

Do you think The Father will give Neo the ability to talk?

Work Text:

"GODS DAMN YOU, NORA VALKYRIE!" Cinder ripped the door into its slot before it could mechanically do so itself. Sadly, the woman remained the same as she had before; mortal, human, and weak. The concoction which had miraculously caused one Jaune Arc to ascend to his current place of godhood as The Father was no more. In fact, to ensure no others would have to endure this newfound immortality, Jaune had seized the mutagen and reduced it to harmless goo.

Well, relatively harmless. It didn't do anything except lay over the ground. It was just non-toxic mush that casted a shadow and nothing more, which gave Nora an idea. Taking it, she began to package it and send it to orphanages all over the world. Children laughed and cheered as "Goop" arrived at their doors and did nothing.

And really, wasn't doing nothing just the best now that there was no endless supply of Grimm anymore?

"Yeesh, some people, am I right, Ren?"

"I wish she wouldn't swear in front of the children." Ren noted, bouncing the baby in his arms. The two had agreed to a charity program for "Stand-In Parents" to children without mothers or fathers to care for them (another idea by Nora). It was like a babysitting service for parents who couldn't get away from the increased workload now that the Grimm were a mild nuisance at worst. "I'd hate for Benny's first words to his mother to be a swear. We would be awful stand-in parents for letting that happen."

"Ah, it's nothing to worry about." Nora waved her hand. "My mom said a lot of bad words around me. And I turned out fine!" The hand Nora waved was bandaged because she touched the stove, which inspired no confidence in her partner. "Ooh, there's an idea! A swears class! Kids can learn all the words of what not to say!"

"Nora..."

"C'mon, Ren~!" Nora said in a half-plead, half-prod fashion. "I've already got two good ideas in the books! This third one has gotta be a good idea~!"

--------------------------------------------------

"I have already told you no."

"And I've already told you I'm not taking no for an answer!"

Pyrrha stood firm with her arms crossed, glaring as Cinder tried to force her way to meet with The Father. She was dressed in long, flowing robes of orange with a blue hood. Behind her, similarly dressed women moved about, either carrying boxes or answering scroll calls with persons half the world over.

"The Mothers have more important matters to attend to than your power fantasy."

"It is not a power fantasy, you cultist." Cinder huffed. "Tell me, does The Father know that his mother is keeping one of his children waiting~?"

"The Father is but one man," Pyrrha argued, "and he will make the time for you when he is done speaking with his other children."

"Oh, Brothers..."

"I'm sure they will be more willing to listen to you." Pyrrha gave a smirk. "After all, what happened the last time when someone asked them for power ended quite well, didn't it?"

Cinder took a deep breath. She was aware of The Brothers being permitted to stay on Remnant so long as they didn't repeat their previous actions that nearly led Remnant to destroy itself. However, the Brothers were also busy fixing what they had broken; the moon, their words, their ties with humanity. Thus sayeth the father. And soon sayeth Cinder on this matter.

"Listen here, you UPPITY FUCKING C-"

"Care for more tea?" The Father asked his child.

Neo shook her head, then brought her cup to her lips. Once finished, she nodded. The Father responded by tilting the kettle and filling her to just below the brim with her preferred tea.

"And you are certain there is nothing more you require of me?" Neo tilted her head in thought. "That would not place others in harm's way?" He clarified, earning silent sigh and a shake of the head from Neo.

"I could... grant you a voice." The Father was very careful not to use the F word with Neo. She was adamant in remaining mute, as she had her entire life. With silent conversation, she had told him her life story; of how Trivia Vanille was an abused, mute child who found her voice through Lady Browning's teachings and learned her true voice with her best friend, mentor, and a little more, Roman Torchwick, who was doing what he did best; lying, cheating, stealing, and doing whatever it took to- The Father was then hit in the 'face' by a biscuit thrown by a pouting Neo. "Ah, forgive me. It was wrong of me to use other words in place of what I intend."

The Father picked up the biscuit and it dissolved into his 'face'. "However, my intentions aren't anything bad." He lifted his hand. "You are my child, and I simply offer this opportunity to you as any good father would for his child." Neo narrowed her brow. "A good father, Neo. I don't want to erase your history, but open your future to a world of better understanding and open communication."

Neo folded her arms, rolling her eyes. The Father gave a chuckle.

"I see why my own father had so much trouble with my sisters. In that case, I tell you that you are free to leave and take as much tea and biscuits as you desire," he placed a hand on her shoulder, "and know that your father loves you as a good father does."

At his touch, she flinched. At his words, she rose. At his trunk, she hugged. And into his chest, she wept. And with the hand of a father, he stroked her hair and her back, offering comfort to his child. As any good father would.
